Ano Pedina
We absolutely loved everything about Althea Guesthouse! From the moment we parked our car and Machi, the lovely owner, welcomed us in with a big smile, it was obvious that we made the right choice. The place is so beautiful, you can see that they thought about every little detail. It is clean, comfortable (the best beds we had so far in Greece), and the breakfast is amazing. Machi also helped us with our zagori trip plan. she really knows the area and gave us wonderful advice. We really enjoyed our time here, and would totally recommend it!
The hotel is situated in the small village in Zagoria region, right near the famous Vikos Gorge, the trail to the gorge starts just by the village. The hotel has simply decorated and furnitured rooms with all the necessities. Our beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were small but clean with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was relatively simple but fresh, tasty and plenty for the 2 star hotel. The owners and the stuff were very helpful and friendly, they organised the taxi ride for us after the long hike, which was very nice.
The room was really large so we enjoyed the generous space! However, above all - the host was great. We needed to leave before breakfast time and they prepared us the breakfast in the evening to eat it early in our room, which was really nice. We also left some of our stuff in the hotel before hiking the Zagori mountains and picked it up four days later. We are very grateful for keeping it for us as our backpacks were considerably lighter thanks to that :)) So thank you very much for everything, it was a perfect stay!
Papingo
Very cosy and comfortable hotel conveniently located at the start of Papingo. Ilias and Elena are both very hospitable, friendly and helpful, gave lots of advice on where to hike and what to see in the area and they make excellent coffee and food in the cafe at the front. The rooms are a great size with comfortable beds and spacious clean bathrooms, with lots of natural light as well. This is easily one of the best places to stay in the area and a perfect base for heading into the Zagori mountains.
A family hotel in a lovely village, in my opinion the most worthwhile place in Zagoria. We stayed at the hotel for four nights; Sofia and her two sons, Christos and Theodore were charming, made us feel at home. Spacious rooms, excellent service, generous breakfast. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant with a selection of excellent and delicious dishes. And most importantly, it's their humanity and caring. warmly recommended!
The Hotel was exceptional, the people are nice and everything is tidy. We had a great time! If you stay in the zagori region, then book this hotel. The tour information that they give are really great! Don't forget to eat at the hotel restaurant. Especially the rose wine with starters is great! Directly from the village there is a really nice hiking path up to a mountain top, 1:30h with great view!

Charming boutique hotel close to all the beautiful attractions in Zagori! The room were beautifully decorated, gave us that cosy mountain feeling, and had all we needed for our four day stay. It was easy to find a parking spot, and the view of the mountains from our room on the first floor was so gorgeous and peaceful. The breakfast and the host were both amazing and made us feel like home!
Wonderful family run hotel and restaurant that was perfect for our 3-day trip to Zagori with our baby and dog. Our room and bed were very comfortable, with mountain views. The breakfast was great, and we also ate dinner at the restaurant twice- everything was fresh, local, homemade, and delicious. The location in Aristi is excellent for exploring beautiful Zagori. The hotel was built using a traditional Zagori design and it looked beautiful. The owner, Mr Michalis, and his staff were very friendly and provided excellent service both at the hotel and at the taverna across the road. The breakfast was delicious and included local specialties. We highly recommend Hotel Machalas to anyone wanting to experience the Zagorochoria area.

First of all the location of the Village is ideal to explore the area, located in the middle of Zagori. The hotel was located on the top of the village offering stunning views of the mountains, with very easy access by car. Comfortable bed, very spacey and clean rooms. The owners really warm and friendly and lastly a great breakfast to start the day exploring!!! !
Besides the fact that the location of the hotel is incredible and the design of the hotel is so comfy and warm, the staff was absolutely incredible. We came for only two nights and wanted to explore the area, and the amazing receptionist sat with us each morning and help us construct the entire day. I highly recommend this hotel if you wish to explore Zagori.
Everything was amazing!!!! Especially the generousity, hospitality and kindness of Miss Eftihia, the hotel manager. WoW!!! This young woman really goes above and beyond to help you and makes your stay feel like people really care that you have the best time ever at their hotel but also in th entire Zagori Area. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the Zagori region of Greece. Voula and her family at the hotel were perfect and charming hosts that helped us make the most of our time in the area. A beautiful location, lovely rooms and a delicious restaurant. We had a double room with separate rooms for the children and 2 bathrooms so we had privacy and comfort. The hotel has a local character and serves good breakfast, all home made. The owner speaks English. The location is perfect to explore Zagoria, one of the famous paths starts right next to the hotel.
I enjoyed this hotel especially because of the location! Close to many of the hikes in the area and since the villages in Zagoria are small, this area has more options to sit for drinks or eat right next to the hotel. There is one of the best restaurants in the area a few minutes walk from the hotel.
