Crooklands
The meals we had--breakfast and dinner--were excellent. We went for the annual Westmorland Show but the hotel is very handy for Kendal, The Lakes, Westmorland Fells, and Yorkshire Dales. Also near the M6 but a good mile away--certainly no noise. Our twin room was excellent. The fraternal owners are working very hard indeed.
Location is great and hotel is very comfortable. Good location for dog walks . The shop is excellent but very busy. We have been staying at Westmorland en route for Scotland for years but I fear you may become a victim of your popularity!
Wonderful happy staff. Big shoutout to Cameron, Sam, Friendly man from Sicily, Friendly lady with two braids. The team was excellent— Breakfast delicious, Beer selection and cocktails amazing!

Low Wood Bay is a very special place set in a magical location. The hotel and staff far exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was a highlight, with attentive and friendly staff led by Chad, one of the most welcoming and well-informed managers we have ever met. He was so kind and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a fantastic experience, including sharing tips of some of the best spots to visit in the Lakes. Special mention also to F&B supervisor Michael who was very professional and hard-working. He did not stop! The only problem with Low Wood is they have two exceptional restaurants, which meant we didn't really explore anywhere else- the food was too good! Reception staff were also very welcoming and even organised a balloon and chocolates for our special occasion- this topped off a perfect stay. We were very sad to leave.

Reception was on point…we had loads of luggage…polish team member was lovely…as was the assisting reception lad and the doorman too….we made a bit of a spectacle when we arrived…lol The view was amazing from our room and we also had drinks before we retired to bed in the bar/lounge area.,the view there was also superb. We loved our stay here! What a beautiful part of the world. Amazing building, great rooms and service from the staff. It is right on the lake which is beautiful, and close to the departure for the steam boat. I wish we could have stayed longer.
The property is at great location. The staff is ❤️❤️. Everyone was so welcoming. Chef is so nice. We tried onion rings, cauliflower vegan curry with rice and pizza. Breakfast was so satisfying. Highlight of our trip was CAS helped us to kindly find a cab on Boxing Day when we were struggling to find transportation and we reached home safely.

We drove up through the Lake District on a dark rainy night and they kept the spa open for us so we could relax that evening after a long journey. it was such a treat.
