The lady on reception was amazing, very helpful, informative and hands on. The location. Excellent large room. (207) Very clean, tea and coffee making facilities which were replenished every day. Walk in shower which was brilliant, as requested due to mobility problems. Staff were all amazing. Food available all day. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant even when working under pressure. It was a very busy establishment. Excellent base to explore Monmothshire, Forest of Dean, Abbergavenny Cardiff, Ross on Wye.
Lydney
Lovely hotel, welcomes dogs, very clean and comfy rooms and bed. parking right outside the room. door straight to outside was very convenient. Smashing area near to the forest of dean, lydney harbour, and many interesting heritage sites. contactless check in. we needed a vets during our stay and one was literally next door but one and fitted us in straight away. tesco local to the hotel for fuel and shopping, great town with shops cafes and takeaways, the chip shop is highly recommended, as is the hotel.
Ross on Wye
The apartment was lovely and very well equipped. Perfectly located to explore The Forest of Dean, Hereford and Gloucester. It was very clean although some parts are starting to look a bit tired. We were left an amazing food hamper with lots of essentials and extra goodies too. Michelle guided us to the property over the phone when we got a little lost in the dark but we soon got there. Also, plenty of logs for the wood burner which were needed to keep the property warm (it was March and very snowy 😊).
We stayed 3 nights at the Loft. It is a superb apartment, clean and spacious, and perfectly located to explore the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley (including attractions like Chepstow Castle and Tintern Abbey) as they are only a short drive away. Although we did not meet our hosts personally, communication with them by e-mail was easy and they were really helpful. The biscuits, tea, and coffee were a nice welcome touch.
Monmouth
The apartment was the perfect little bolt hole for us. Lovely decor. Very clean and comfortable, Everything has been thought of. Great for a lazy lay in followed by lots of walking and exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and the hills around Abergavenny. Then the well-earned relaxation in the evening with tired legs and feet. Highly recommended!
The bed was comfortable and the room was a really good size. Breakfasts were good and worth paying for in advance. The location of the hotel gives you easy access to a lot of the Forest of Dean and also gives easy access to areas of Wales if you don’t mind a short drive. You’re also close enough to the town that you can pop in if you want to.
Cinderford
Wow, where to start? Luxury modern converted apartments in a beautiful location. V welcoming and helpful owners. Apartment itself had everything you needed - v high spec, quiet, spacious. A very relaxing place to stay but only a 15 min drive to many great places eg forest of Dean for walking/mountain biking. I would stay here again
Lydney
The staff were very helpful and attentive, the breakfast was lovely, the parking and free WiFi were all great and the room was basically fine. The complementary stroop waffles were much appreciated! The hotel was conveniently located in the heart of the Forest of Dean, making it easy to get to the schools we were visiting for work.
Ross on Wye
There is no denying the Hostelrie is in a beautiful location with friendly and for the most part helpful staff. Our second room was very nice and the surroundings and access to the forest of Dean are great. The pub and restaurant space are well set out and everything looks great. We enjoyed the food and the breakfast was good.
Good, plentiful breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Very close to R Wye + riverside walks. Would be excellent for canoeing. Within easy driving distance to Monmouth town, Ross on Wye, Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat Rock. The hotel had lovely, clean, well decorated public rooms including a dance hall for functions.
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the Forest of Dean. The busy hotel is in the centre of town which is easy to walk around. Our room was large and comfortable, with a nice bath. Dinner was served in a neat dining room and was typical hearty pub food. Breakfast was cooked to order and tasty.
Location was excellent,a beautiful old Elizabethan manor….plenty of parking..breakfast and dinners were really good….staff at hotel were most helpful and service at breakfast and dinner prompt…we had a very pleasant stay…..excellent place to stay to visit the Wye valley and Forest of Dean.
Cosy pub in a good location for exploring the Forest of Dean. Good pint of beer in the bar, but I ate at the nearby Belfry Hotel. I had to leave before breakfast so didn’t get to try that. The price of the room was very good at the time I booked.
Coleford
It was very well set up and provisioned, and very welcoming. Felt like a home. The position was fantastic in the centre of such a lovely village. It was very easy to explore the forest of dean from this central location. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Ideal location for visiting forest of Dean Staff very friendly Breakfast very good, hot and plentiful Walking distance to town, only 5-10 mins WiFi everywhere in hotel and free
As an old coaching inn the hotel had lots of character and its town center Location ideal for town exploring and as a base for Wye Valley & Forest of Dean exploring too.
Location was great for Forest of Dean. Property looks nice from the outside and staff were very friendly.
Coleford
Convenient for The Forest of Dean. Apartment clean and cosy.
It's like staying in a museum. The place is a treasure chest of history which adds to the charm of the old court house. Rooms were well furnished and large. Have recommended to friends and family. Would stay again.
Great breakfast, staff and the general standard of everything was high.
