Absolutely love the decor and standard of furniture, fixtures and fitting of this beautifully refurbished Georgian house. Extremely well decorated and furnished, spacious, with a large bar area, large restaurant with linen tablecloths, and a separate dining area for four-legged friends. Good to know that pets are welcome and are catered for, but those without pets can dine in a separate area. Bedroom (No. 7) was beautifully furnished, spacious with very comfy super king size bed and lovely walk-in shower room with a hot powerful shower. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening but we both had a scrumptious breakfast in the morning. Most importantly, the staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive. Finally, the price for B&B for two was very reasonable. What's not to like ??? Highly recommended !!!

Dalbeattie
Great location for the beautiful area of Dumfries and Galloway, Castle Douglas and the Solway Coast. It appears to run by a jack of all trades but a master of all. We arrived later than expected, but he was very friendly, showed us to our room and there he was, up at the crack of dawn serving what I can only was a delicious breakfast (Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and toast). If highly recommend the hotel for a friendly, comfortable stay with beautiful surroundings.
Newton Stewart
My friend and I were on a bike tour around Dumfries and Galloway. The hotel is perfectly situated for access the the forrest park and (although we were not mountain biking this time) close to Kirroughtree bike park. The restaurant food was perfect for two ravenous cyclists; tasty and good value and serve good beer. I thought the accommodation was particularly good value. They also have a safe place to store bikes which was also perfect for us.
This is a bright little hotel, recently refurbished, comfortable and perfectly located to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room had a modern shower (hot) with separate toilet and a comfortable bed. Food was very good- We had lamb shank with red wine jus and fresh haddock and chips for dinner and breakfast of full Scottish- excellent quality a well cooked.
Dumfries
We booked the Woodland House as it was ideally located for a mini-break in Dumfries and Galloway - we're glad we did! From arrival to departure we were treated like family and to say the dinner choices and quality were exceptional value for money is an understatement. A great breakfast started off our days too. I would certainly not hesitate to book again at the Woodland House Hotel!
Comfortable accommodation, breakfast set up very good, with optional porridge (which was delicious) followed by a buffet style Scottish breakfast, plus toast, cereals, fruit, yogurt etc. Lovely building and in accesssible area for access to Dumfries or to explore Dumfries and Galloway further. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly and there was plenty of parking on site.

Castle Douglas
Great apartment, nice host, everything you need for a holiday in Dumfries and Galloway.
It was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large with a lovely en-suite. We enjoyed a drink at the bar and the price was excellent.
Freindly staff, nice hotel & grounds& great food 😊
Ellie provided us with a second room for our daughter as she didn't fit the crib (haha) and also let us in at 1 am as we neglected to get a door key for late return, what a nice lady. All the staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent, beds were great, we will be back. Beautiful grounds and walking trails with a variety of birds to get you up in the morning.
Excellent food friendly staff very clean
We stayed in the Cottages and they were lovely real big and lots of space and had a small kitchen in it too. Very clean and the bed was comfy
Great location Came in late and got checked in by Angus. Very friendly staff. Just sorry we where not stopping longer. Next time
We loved everything about it. The toilet was noisy for a long time after flushing but everything else was lovely. The gardens, the walks out the front door, the quietness, the stunning views from our patio. We loved the walk up by the golf course and if we had another day would have explored those hikes more. The staff was veryfriendly and professional. It was a real treat to end our 2 week journey to Northern Ireland. We didn't want to drive home after taking the ferry so we stayed here instead. We were pleasantly surprised with the fabulous hotel and views. The array of Scotch whiskeys in the bar was a great idea and we partook in a few of those for after dinner. The Hendricks gin was also very good. It's just a very classy place.
Caravan was spotless and beds very comfortable (also loved the “is it me you’re looking for” gift of essentials that I did actually forget to bring with me! Van heats up really quick and everything was easy to use (I always struggle with gas appliances but these worked first time every time) bedding was provided but no towels. Caravan park itself if great, very clean, everyone is pleasant and happy to help, there’s a play park (well maintained) a bar (reasonably priced drinks and bar snacks and an arcade attached to it for the kids and big kids) and shop/reception (where you check in, the shop part is pretty basic, more for “oh I forgot xyz” so I’d pop to a supermarket for all your bits) within walking distance (7mins to be precise) of an inn for all day food and drinks, there’s fields surrounding caravan park with sheep, goats and horses, there’s rabbits everywhere (daughter was obsessed with those and spent hours looking for and counting them) 20-30 mins drive and you can go to dalscone park or Mabie farm park.
A charming, small hotel in connection with and old and still functioning light house. Comfortable but small room and bathroom. Excellent food in a very cozy restaurant room ( for both breakfast and dinner). The dinner menu and execution was very good. The location with view to the Irish Sea, Belfast and Mull of Kintyre, was breathtaking. Very friendly and accommodating hosts and personelle. Good advice on where to hike along the coast and back inland.
What an amazing house! Everything was perfect. The four bedrooms were comfortable and suited our group to a T. Having the front Living Room separate was good so that the kids could be watching TV away from the adults. Tracey was in contact with us and all instructions were very clear. The kids love the trampoline and were very disappointed that we had absolutely no time to go in the Jacuzzi. They said they’d come back to Gretna just to stay in that house!
