Located in Kirriemuir and with Discovery Point reachable within 17 miles, Airlie Arms Hotel has express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a bar. Nice hotel with spacious rooms, very clean and recently renovated or decorated - everything looked quite new and fresh despite being in an old building. The staff were lovely and the bed was comfortable; big and clean bathroom; windows with views on a small cute garden. Very silent at night, too. There's a supermarket a few meters away and parking facilities around the city. The hotel has its own pub/restaurant, offering a good variation of dishes - great and convenient in a village with not so big an offer for dining out. All perfect, would totally recommend. I stayed here before going for a hike to Corrie Fee, which is half hour away by car.

Nice hotel and location, was good for touring Angus. Disappointed in a number of small things - eg no croissants for breakfast or continental breakfast, no bottles of water in the room, no lounge for relaxing in. Room window was about one metre from the atrium of the hotel entrance and completely obliterated our view. When asked for preferences on booking we requested a golf course facing room but that was not allocated for us. Staff were courteous and well mannered.
Our room "Dangerpoint" was as described very spacious and very comfortable with lovely nautical theme décor. Walk-in shower is amazing. Room exceptionally clean and well equipped. Sea view is amazing as is location of hotel. Dinner was delicious and menu selection ample choice with smaller portion option. Bar is very rustic as is restaurant with coastal, seaside theme. Town is great base for touring Angus and Kingdom of Fife.
We stayed for one night while visiting Angus for the Doors Open Weekend. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Montrose and the surrounding area. It is central, but also quiet. The hotel has a carpark with plenty of space. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. There was a good selection of food at breakfast.
Stayed in deluxe room, which was very comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. Staff members in the hotel were helpful and friendly. Everywhere was spotless. The location of the hotel is beautiful, two minutes from the sea and a good base for exploring Angus.
Lovely family run hotel. Very friendly and offered lots of ideas for things to do in Angus and beyond. Wide variety of mains for evening meals and tasty Scottish breakfast. Good location for exploring some of the surrounding attractions like Montrose Basin.
Monifieth
Lovely, spacious, well equipped apartment. Comfortable, modern furnishing. Views overlooking the golf course and very good location for sightseeing in the Angus area.
Beautiful location, good base to explore the Angus glens. Nice breakfast, catered for gluten free. Pub food for evening meal is fine.
Amazing location - this was the final destination for the TGO Challenge hike across Scotland. Loved the bar and restaurant, rooms were clean, and close to ocean, golf, shops, etc.
The property was historic and well preserved and staff was open, accommodating and quickly became like extended family.
Very comfy room, good sized shower, had a hair dryer by a mirror, food was great, staff was friendly.
Having the opportunity to chat with the owner and getting our own private whiskey tasting.
Agnes was accommodating for two people on bikes. Her breakfast is outstanding and the house is immaculate. This was one of my favorite places to stay in Scotland.
The breakfast service by Susie was excellent. The manager, Tracy, was attentive to address any requests. The restaurant was popular and had good food. We really enjoyed our stay.
very friendly, almost long lost relative kind of welcome. Relaxed atmosphere and great ambiance to just chill out.
Nice surroundings and gym access
