Other reviewers have already stated a lot of the positives about this hotel, and I can affirm those wholeheartedly. On top of that, what perhaps wasn't mentioned so often is the vibe & attitude of the staff. All of them (inc. housekeepers) are very relaxed and very friendly. A lot, if not all, in this hotel is done with class, style and attention to details. The lobby, the music, all the furniture, the spa, the gorgeous breakfast room. And when you take the wine tour, you suddenly realize the winery is in the same building (very unique)!! I stayed for 5 nights but didn't want to leave... These people know how to run a hotel!!

Ezcaray on hyvä paikka syödä ravintolassa! Kylä tarjoaa La Riojan keittiön parasta kohtuuhintaan. La Riojan viinit ovat hyvin tarjolla. Olemme syöneet hyvin aina. Casa Masip, Rincon de Vino ja El Meson ovat suosikkejamme. Vaativampaan makuun ovat vielä sitten Echaurrenin ravintolat. Lapset ovat täällä tervettulleita ravintoloihin ja baareihin vanhempiensa kanssa illallistamaan ilman että kukaan mulkoilee tai huomauttelee. Ostospuolella suosittelen viinejä, Ezcarayn morcillaa, muita kuivamakkaroita ja Pacharan Casero-oratuomenmarjalikööriä jossa on marjat mukana. Olemme käyneet Ezcarayssa monena talvena laskettelun merkeissä, se on sopivan matkan päässä Madridista, autolla nelisen tuntia yhdellä tauolla suuntaansa. Laskettelukeskuksena Valdezcaray ei ole suureellinen, mutta korkeuseoa on sentään maksimissaa 600m, alarinne pois lukien 500m joten ihan kelpo tunturi se on. Rinteitä on 22 km joista 8 km lumetettuja. Hissejä on 9, käytännössä hieman edistyneempi laskettelija käyttää 4-5:tä. Ezcarayssa on kuulemma hyvät mahdollisuudet patikointiin, ei ihme, onhan vieressa Sistema Penibetico-vuoristo. Viinitiloillakin pääsee käymään lähiseudulla, vaikka Ezacarayssa ei olekaan yhtään. Kannattaa soittaa tai pyytää majoituspaikkaa soittamaan varaus etukäteen. Esim. David Moreno on ihan kiva, ja noin reilun puolen tunnin ajomatkan päässä Ezcaraysta.
