Surrounded by vineyards, this 18th-century palace is located in the small village of Canedo, just 30 minutes’ drive from Ponferrada. It offers guided visits of the palace and the vineyards. The atmosphere and the surroundings were fantastic. The staff were incredible, helpful and kind. Our room was rustic, romantic in design with a fantastic fireplace, plenty of wood and great view from the room of the vineyard. This was a great anniversay experience for us. Dinner was very nice as was breakfast in our room.

Room was delightful with a comfortable bed, lovely en-suite and good temperature in the room thanks to the aircon. Breakfast was a simple Continental breakfast but served in style with great service for coffee and other requests. Located in a delightful part of Villafranca del Bierzo just on the Calle del Agua. The ladies on the reception desk were wonderfully helpful, perfect receptionists.

Everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a washer and dryer to do laundry. Breakfast was great before heading out in the morning! Great location in the town, easily walkable to everything! Highly recommend staying here!

Charming little hotel on the Camino. Beautiful rooms, A/C, delicious food, good wine, English-speaking staff, and spectacular views. Definitely better than the Parador in Villafranca del Bierzo. No wonder this place is called Paraiso del Bierzo. It truly is a little corner of Heaven.

The location is very convenient, at the center of Villafranca del Bierzo, still nearby parking was available in the street. The rooms are large and functional. There was no breakfast served in the hostal but there are some nearby restaurants open in the morning.

We loved our stay in Villa Mencia. Eva was an incredibly welcoming and friendly hostess. The breakfast was very good as was the dinner we had in the restaurant one evening. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The cottage is very beautiful and quiet. The decoration is very tasteful, Pamela welcomed us with a soothing music and had lit some candles. We felt like we were at a spa. The heating worked very well which is a plus in winter! The garden and the balcony make this place even more special.
