Set in Praia de Araçatiba, Mar da Lua provides an outdoor swimming pool. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a shared lounge and a bar. We liked everything. We chose this place, because the rating for the location was 9.7 and for sure it is. It is amazingly beautiful place - beautiful mountains, peaceful ocean, cozy rooms with seashells used as part of the decoration everywhere. The boat trip that one can purchase from the Mar da Lua takes you to the true paradise beaches. We also chose the place as other guest were writing only great reviews about Mar da Lua owner Francisco. And for sure he deserved all of them - we wanted to organize one very special event for us there and he even gave a contact of his sister who helped to organize it for us. We are so grateful that Francisco allowed us to have a small family wedding there and so grateful to his sister who made it happen.

The owner was super nice and friendly lady, she did not speak English, but was always welcoming us very warm, was making fresh breakfast every morning, offering coffee and cookies in the afternoon. The room had A/C and the shower with hot water. Perfect!

One of the nicest hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He's very organized, his place is well kept and he's very thoughtful. The breakfast was great! the view is amazing. Made me wish that I had stayed longer. Tip: when arriving on the island, ask for "Pousada do Sr Luis" , instead of Cibeles, the locals will know it better 😂

Sissi is super friendly and really helpful, we had a few blackouts on the island but she did everything she could to help! The rooms are lovely and there is a nice area to chill in. The breakfast is amazing.

Offering a garden and a terrace, Canoa Abraão in Abraão is close to Abraao Beach and Preta Beach. Super friendly and non intrusive hosts, they helped us leave our stuff early before check-in and also later during check out. The island was without electricity, their property had a generator that enabled the place to have warm water and light etc despite the power cut. They also had a complimentary afternoon lunch for the guests (and breakfast, obviously). Also close to some bars that are more low-mid range in price.

Casa da Ilha Inn, Ilha Grande is a recently renovated guest house in Abraão where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. This was an exceptional stay! The location was amazing, super close to Abraao by walking to the beach, but also far from the party noises at night. The property itself was beautiful with sea views everywhere. Breakfast was excellent too! It was easy to book transfers and tours through the hotel. Best thing about the location was the boat tours picked us up right at the hotel’s private dock, so we didn’t have to wait in line at the pier with the crowd. We also used their kayak (complimentary) twice and were happy with this amenity. We arrived late the first night and ordered burgers with the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Rental snorkel gear and minibar items were super reasonable prices, they don’t up charge you for your convenience! Staff were all extremely friendly, helpful, and communicative. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone going to Ilha Grande!

If I could give this place 11/10 I would! Possibly the most beautiful hostel in Ilha Grande, up the hill, with wooden chalets in a leafy jungle garden. Warm family atmosphere, delicious breakfast buffet including fruit, eggs and homemade cake served on lovely tableware. Dorms and rooms are spacious and serviced every day. A great place to chill out during the day if you want to stay home - big shady verandah with hammocks. Common kitchen is the cleanest I've seen in any hostel. I ended up staying a week, as it was so hard to leave!

This is one of the most idyllic places I’ve stayed in my life and definitely the best place to stay in Ilha Grande. The property makes you feel like you are in your own private façenda or country home in Brazil with both natural jungle beauty as well as a pristine beach. The beach at Abraãozinho is like a private swimming pool, calm and gorgeous. The food is delicious and the attention of the staff is unlike many other places, personalized, kind and responsive. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to return with our larger family.

Pousada Horizonte dos Borbas is located within easy walking distance of Abraao's port where passengers disembark from the ferries coming from the mainland. There are numerous restaurants, bars and supermarkets near the hotel and the trailhead to hike to Lopes Mendes Beach is just a kilometer away. The rooms are clean and comfortable with decent Wi-Fi. The hotel offers a typical Brazilian breakfast served by the very friendly morning staff. I enjoyed my stay and will stay at the hotel again if I ever return to Ilha Grande.

This is a great hostel for a short stay in Ilha Grande, Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Kitchen is well equipped and common spaces are comfortable. Rooms were big, with private toilets and showers that were cleaned every day. Location is perfect, walking distance from the main attractions of the island. You can book day trips, rent snorkel equipment and book your trip back to Rio from the hostel front desk at very convenient rates.

The room was perfect: very confortable, pretty and had a view on the sea that was just amazing. I loved having my breakfast every morning on the terrace of my room. It was the perfect way to start the day. The breakfast was huge and so good: uma delicia ! Everything was perfect, staff very nice and helpful. Next time I come back to ilha Grande, I will go back to this pousada for sure.

The best hostel in Ilha Grande! Most wonderful and helpful staff and owner I met in my life. I would come back there just to have chat with them. I feld like at home of all the time. Friendly hotel in the centre of Abraão on Ilha Grande. We received a warm greeting despite not speaking any Portuguese. The breakfast was excellent and the room was clean, complete with a small balcony and lovely view of the street. Only stayed for one night, but could have stayed longer if we had the time.
Our best stay during our 3-week roundtrip in Brazil! Certainly recommended if you are looking for a home-away-from-home, beautiful sunsets - a daily visit of Jozefine (the seaturtle of the house) - fun day trips on Ilha Grande. Don’t hesitate & book yourself a night in this paradise!

Pousada Lagamar is situated at one of the more remote beaches of Ilha Grande. It’s a perfect spot if you seek a relaxing yet adventurous stay. If you’d like to hike and have beautiful beaches, you are in the right spot. The stuff of Pousada Lagamar is friendly and attentive.

This place feels like paradise. Simple but very nice room. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Andrade made everything perfect for us, despite us not speaking portuguese. Many many thanks, Ilha Grande and the pousada will remain the highlight of our Brazil trip !

Josef, the owner, brings a lot of good energy to the pousada. Book early to get a room, as ilha grande gets overbooked very fast. Our hostel was also very crowded, but with a nice vibe. It’s 5 min away from the pier and the beach. We enjoyed our stay.

It was in the perfect location with a private beach and easily accessible free boats to Abraão. We rented bike boats right on our beach and it was very fun. The staff were nice. The breakfast was great. Ilha Grande itself is a beautiful destination.

Excellent little self catered apartment in Ilha Grande a few minutes away from the port of arrival. The room was super clean with great finishing touches and came with a cute wardrobe for us to store our belongings.

Nathalia is fantastic and a great host. The hotel is quiet, beautiful and pursues one of the best views of Ilha Grande. I went by boat and it is very close to the blue lagoon and also from Angra.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They helped us book a ferry from the mainland and also washed our clothing upon request. The location is off the main stretch, so it's quiet!
