Wrapping around the eastern façade of the iconic Adelaide Oval, Oval Hotel at Adelaide Oval offers a unique accommodations experience. The room was immaculate with attention to all details. The wet bar and bathroom were stocked with the appropriate amenities. The coolest thing was the blinds closing after we left and opening automatically when we came back into the room. We had a great view of the old church and the park which was very nice. The location was walkable to the mall and train station, which was also a plus. The view of the Oval from the restaurant and bar was great, too.

Naracoorte is a good stopping point for Victoria and South Australian Border towns. Plenty of good facilities in the town and the Caves to see. Close to other attractions and places of interest, in the surrounding districts.
Quaint German village well maintained and unspoiled by commercialism. Congratulations to its residents & council. Local hotel was pokie free, friendly staff, excellent German food & beer. Many stores showed history of the buildings. Have a good look at the exterior behind the shops and you will be intrigued. Even the original floor boards & windows were amazing. Hahndorf is a precious treasure of history right there in South Australia.
Adelaide is close to the Barossa Valley and Victor Harbor, two of South Australia's major tourist attractions. It is a beautiful, modern and vibrant city that does not suffer from over population and excess traffic. Friendly bus drivers as well.
We live in South Australia in a country area. There are many places to stay in the city and close surrounds and transport is available from most of them. Buses, trams and trains are free to seniors during certain hours and the weekends. We enjoy going to the summer tennis, concerts at the theaters and meeting friends and family for meals. Wonderful variety of places to eat in North Adelaide. It is well worth visiting the central market for fresh goodies, plus there are many eateries in this surrounding area. A ride in any transport, tram, o'bahn, or train is a pleasant outing.
The tram system is simple but effective: parallel trams going in opposite directions. Also many CityConnect buses. Travel within the city is free; and very little using a Metrocard when travelling outside the city limit, eg to Glenelg, an attractive coastal town about 25 mins from the city. The streets are easy to navigate. It's an easy walk to the beautiful Botanic Gardens and the Zoo. Many day and half day trips are available to the Barossa Valley, Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills, McClare Vale etc. There are good shopping opportunities in Rundle Mall and adjoining streets. Just beyond is Chinatown. There is a good Entertainment Centre. The main rail station is centrally located in North Terrace and there is a pleasant river walk at the rear; this area is presently being improved. For cricket fans, tours of the Oval can be arranged. The South Australia Museum is packed full of interesting items and information. A short ride out of the city takes one to Cape Jervis and the ferry across to Kangaroo Island. Sealink is the main operator of island tours; Shirley Tamm's four-day tour was very comprehensive and enjoyable. Adelaide appears to be a city that tries to provide what its residents need; everyone I spoke to said they were happy living there.
There is so much to see in Port Pirie and surrounding towns. I hadn't realised the historic value of this part of South Australia. Can't wait to go back to explore this beautiful place.
We went for the Festival and were not disappointed. Adelaide is a Festival city par excellence. The events we attended, six in all, were all art at its best, Saul was fabulous. The only disappointment was the mean staff at the Gallery of South Australia cafe, while the exhibition Versus Rodin was marvellous.
Very easy to access transport. Heaps of things to see and do in and around Adelaide. I would call South Australia the wine making capital of Australia.
Naracoorte is a beautiful town in southeastern South Australia. The Caves nearby are fantastic. The town itself is a jewel of a place. I could live there. I recommend Naracoorte and the entire area to all travelers!
As I live in rural South Australia, it is a great city to visit. Always amazed at the new developments taking place. Many, many places to eat. The free connector bus is excellent for getting around the city and the Glenelg tram must be experienced!
Watervale
Highly recommend Battunga Cottages. Such a lovely, peaceful spot and our cottage was extremely comfy and well appointed. Kerry greeted us with a loaf of fresh bread and gave us information about the area when we arrived. Breakfast provisions are plentiful and we enjoyed and appreciated the nibbles Kerry also supplied. It was wonderful to sample a range of quality South Australian produce. The bed was very comfortable and linens were lovely quality. Recommend a visit to the Watervale Hotel for a meal too.
Middleton
If you're visiting South Australia, this is a definite must for some much need rest and relaxation. The location is so quaint and calming. It's filled with an amazing garden area. The rooms are like out of a magazine. They have a common kitchen area to cook up something. Rooms come with a fridge/freezer to store any leftovers. There's a cupboard filled with board games, a tennis court for guests, common barbie, and parking adjacent to the hut we were staying at (Coolum).
McLaren Vale
We absolutely loved our stay at Peppercorn’s B&B! The owners were so friendly and inviting. The room and facilities were so beautiful and we were really made to feel at home. They have the friendliest dog and they cooked us the most scrumptious breakfast. This was our favourite place we stayed throughout our whole trip through South Australia. We can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you so much for the most lovely stay!
Port Lincoln
The unit was spacious, modern, quiet and probably the nicest place we stayed at in South Australia. Our view wasn't as lovely as some people have mentioned because it looked out to ships docked in the distance but it was interesting, plus the shore was so very close. Absolutely no complaints with staying here (the parking is more comment than complaint) and it will be our first choice when we return to Port Lincoln.
Clare
We had a great time staying at Sue's house, perfect for our family of 4 The house was very clean, welcoming and well stocked, in a good location with walking distances to local amenities. Comfy beds, hot shower with shampoo and conditioner if needed. Kitchen with all items you need, clean and well presented. Definitely recommended the place if you are planing a trip to Clare Valley, South Australia
A nice base to explore this area of South Australia. Pleasant room, good value, and lots of light options. They warned us beforehand about noise from the big roadworks outside; we stayed Friday night to Sunday morning and there was only a bit of vehicle reversing beeping on Saturday morning, so if you're there at the weekend it probably won't intrude on your life much.
Rad, Stylish, Art Deco & An Urban Oasis. Amongst The Hustle and Bustle of the CBD It Is A Peaceful Retreat. Dining at ela; the Med-inspired restaurant, is a hit 🎯 “The menu is inspired by various areas throughout the Mediterranean region, whilst also highlighting some of South Australia’s finest produce,” says Executive Chef Nigel Rich and Head Chef Ashleigh Lindner.
Lyndoch
We booked this as part of our trip to South Australia for our wedding anniversary. Very high quality accommodation with everything we needed to help us celebrate. Complimentary inclusions including materials for continental and/or cooked breakfast and snacks. Plus a bottle of wine! Fantastic hosts who helped with advice for sightseeing and restaurants.
Coober Pedy
Who would have thought that behind the dirt and rock of the hills in Coober Pedy you would find such a unique and comfortable environment. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and we will be recommending it to all those travelling through outback South Australia wanting to experience something wonderful and so unique.
Port Lincoln
Beautifully presented properly. Close to all facilities. Trina, our host was really easy to deal with and was very helpful. Unfortunately for us we only had 2 of our 4 days there due to lockdowns by Victoria and South Australia. We will definitely stay at Laguna View again when we resume our South Australia trip!
Friendly staff were very welcoming. We stayed in the family suite and it was very nice. super clean, comfortable bed, a comfortable seating area. During our travels. We stayed 3 times as we moved around South Australia and every time the staff was helpful and warm and the facilities met our expectations.
Adelaide Central Business District, Adelaide
The location was excellent, just behind Rundle Mall and less than 5 minutes away from the University of Adelaide. The Botanic Gardens, South Australian Museum, Art Gallery of South Australia were within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The unit was nice and clean.
Port Elliot
Very friendly and professional people. Wonderful location and great value for money. Great walks along the beach, excellent hotel down the road: great food; lots of things to do if you have time. South Sea Books in Pt Elliot is one of the best bookshops in South Australia.
Murray Bridge
Liked the quiet location, friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable. Could be a regular stopping point on our travels from Victoria to South Australia and return trip.. Great to be pet friendly as can be hard to find good accommodation when you have a pet..
Naracoorte
The studio apartment was very well arranged, so it felt quite spacious. Everything was stylish, modern and fresh, with some touches that tied in to the heritage of the building. In three weeks of travelling around South Australia this was by far the best place we stayed.
Encounter Bay
We didn’t have breakfast. The location is excellent. The stairs both exterior and interior posed real challenge to arthritic knees! Wonderful location - bonus being above Whalers restaurant - just a stroll down the hill to the best seafood in South Australia!
Clean modern rooms on ground floor annex of busy little historic local hotel in lovely quiet Barossa town. Great for a one night sleepover (we were enroute from Melbourne to Yorke Peninsula South Australia.) Staff really friendly.
Mount Gambier
My third stay here at Arkana Motor Inn. Always a good choice for accommodation when having a stopover en route to/from South Australia. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Highly Recommended.
Everthing. Venue was perfect as were the helpful staff. Food in the venue restaurant was delicious. Our accommodation was the best we experienced in our 16 days travelling around south Australia. Nothing at
Whyalla
Location easy to get to. Great car parking. The apartment was clean and all facilities worked well. It was lovely to have complimentary South Australian chocolates and bottles of water on arrival
