Fantastic location in historical Porto. Rooms are a bit tight (small) but well appointed . Excellent buffet breakfasts. Easy to walk to many sights and the Douro waterfront. Lots of places to eat right outside your door and shops galore. Would stay again

The apartment was very close to the Sao Bento train station. Also close to many lovely restaurants and attractions. The host was very nice and communicative.
Location of the Hotel is superb. It is on a pedestrian-only street; the same street as Majestic Cafe. Mercado do Bolhão is around the corner and the Catarina Mall is a block or so away. There are many eateries around. The Bolhão Metro Station is close by. The famous Sao Bento Train Station is within 10 minutes walk down hill. Staff were most courteous and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The “old” rooms on the ground floor added a special touch to the grandeur of the hotel.
Location is perfect! It’s near to Sao Bento Train Station, within 3mins. walk. 25mins. from Porto Airport by car. Near to all restaurant and tourist spot like the famous bridge.
What an amazing 2 bedroom apartment (4th floor) overlooking the city! So conveniently located. Easy communication with staff to greet us on time and show us the apartment. We could walk everywhere (be ready to walk a lot up hills) even from the Sao Bento train station. There is no breakfast included but not necessary. There are lots of bakeries and restaurants in walking distance. Plus, the apartment had all the amenities including full kitchen and washing machine for clothes. My family would stay again immediately. We miss Porto!

We happened to be visiting during the São João holiday and for the occasion, they left a toy hammer with a leaflet explaining the tradition as well as a pot of fresh basil (also a tradition) in the room. We received a 5 star treatment from the hotel.
It was a phenomenal stay at Casa Do Cativo. Well situated just up from Sao Bento train station right in the heart of Porto.
Accommodation is fantastic, really spacious and comfortable rooms with great amenities.
We were travelling with a 7 month old baby and Margarida made so much effort with us and really made the stay more memorable.

Hotel is in a cool old building. Stayed in the family room which was large and had an awesome ceiling. Hotel is in a great location right next to shops, restaurants, and Sao Bento train station but it was still pretty quiet inside except for the seagulls. We loved the breakfasts and the coffee machine.
This stay is absolutely amazing! In the center right next to church of saint IIdefonso. You can reach the famous beautiful sao bento train station by a 5 min walk! Loved how clean the hotel is also.
