Definitely take the cog train up Gonergatt.
Definitely take the cog train up Gonergatt. Hike down at least two rain stops. The views of the Matterhorn and glaciers is stunning and well worth the walk. Be sure to wear good fitting shoes - it is relatively steep and you do not want your feet sliding forward in your shoes. It you have knee problems I would suggest wearing whatever support you normally use.

It was a great experience as the receptionist was welcoming and attended to us with a friendly face. As for the place itself, it's beauty was undescribable and left at at awe. It is truly a place to go back which we are hoping to go back to next time. Great job and please do continue the great service and maintaining the place.

Nothing prepares you for just how amazing it is to see this...
Nothing prepares you for just how amazing it is to see this mountain from Gornergrat. Pay the money take the train up and then hike down a few stops to Riffelsberg. The trails are all downhill, well marked and worth the view. Then later in the evening go to the cemetery in the Englander church and remember the 500+ mountaineers who did not make it back to enjoy hot chocolate.

Stunning scenery and the Matterhorn is awe inspiring. Allow plenty of time to enjoy the visit especially if you intend to walk down part of the way. The descending is harder than it looks as the ground is rough.

We had a view from next to our hotel as this mountain...
We had a view from next to our hotel as this mountain dominates the town. We were also fortunate with the weather. The trip up the Gornegrat Railway, whilst very expensive was an unmissable experience and other travellers should investigate the Swiss Rail pass which halved the cost.

The staff at the Bellerive are amazing! The rooms were modern and well-equipped, and the spa was a cool setup. We enjoyed the nightly fire in lobby after we wrapped up every evening. The breakfast was great, as was the service. The hotel is less than a minutes walk to the best Matterhorn view in town. We easily walked to everything Zermatt had to offer, but the place is away from the busy main street of Zermatt.
WOWWWW this hotel has the BEST view of the Matterhorn from any location we saw in all of Zermatt! We woke up each morning in complete awe of the mountain. We loved swimming in the pool and jacuzzi (also with Matterhorn views). And the staff was just delightful and kind and helpful. Our stay here was magical and we hope to return someday!
The property looks better compare to the photos uploaded. Very clean, in a perfect location for family. There is a playground nearby (Matterhorn in the background), restaurant and bus stop. The view is just spectacular from the apartment. So everything is beyond our expectations. We loved it very much. Coffee maker, microwave, ... everything for cooking is provided. After getting to know Zermatt, I would choose this apartment again.
The view to the Matterhorn from living room and terrace was divine. Everything was perfectly clean and comfortable. Location couldn't be better, literally 1 min walk to the train station (yet 7 mins walk to pick up the key to Walliserhof hotel)
Typically profile photos of the apartments tend to be overrated but in this particular case, the condition was same or even better than what I could see from their photos.
We loved the location of Greta's Cozy Home. A quick walk to the Furi/Matterhorn Glacier Paradise side of the mountain. We also loved that we had a kitchen available to make food at home. Food in Zermatt is EXPENSIVE, so this option made us so happy we chose this apartment over a hotel with no kitchen. Oliver was very responsive to our messages and even allowed us to drop off our baggage before the apartment was ready for us. He also left us a bottle of wine which was very sweet and appreciated!

We loved the Matterhorn Hotel and Apartments! It was such a lovely place in adorable Zermatt. We loved our balcony. The breakfast in the morning was delicious also. The staff was so friendly! Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. We will come back one day and stay at the Matterhorn again when we do.
Hotel is located outskirt of Zermatt, still walking distance from the station with a climb at the end. You can take the tramp (which is recommended by the hotel) which stops right at the hotel. View of Matterhorn from our apartment is unbelievable. I don't think you will get such views from the hotels in downtown Zermatt. Place is very clean with amenities including heated pool, spa etc. something rare to find in Switzerland
Apartment is spacious, nicely furnished. Balcony has a wonderful view on the Matterhorn. Unlimited access to the spa of the hotel for only chf10, really forth it. Nice skiroom with heating for ski shoes.
We started in a studio apartment but the wifi was not working. Pia and Barbara were SO accommodating and moved us to a double room at the main hotel/restaurant building. It was clean, cozy, the restaurant is amazing! Nice view, loved the location. A bit off the main path but super close to Matterhorn Express. Great outdoor dining space. Really loved our stay there and definitely recommend!!!!
