The location is just amazing, staff very friendly and prone to take actions with customer requests. We really enjoy the massage provided by Indra and the receptionist were fully dedicated to improve our stay in Salvador, making reservations, massages and nail appointments. Highly recommend this hotel with amazing location and interior. Excellent quality/price.

I loved the location of the hotel being directly into the center of all activities. Let's and very close to the center where it was very walkable. The staff was amazing from the beginning to the end, from our front desk manager to the bartender to the waitstaff they were all excellent and consistently helpful to us. I loved the beautiful rooms. The large space it was comfortable. The bed was comfortable, which is rare for me in most hotels. I love the old time feel of the hotel. You know, and it just felt so inviting.

Salvador also offers some fun beach experiences. Praia Porto da Barra (close town beach) is nice. You can rent chairs and an umbrella for about $5 and nice affordable drinks and food are available right on the beach. It is very popular (crowded) on the weekends. Barra is a short taxi ride from Pelourinho. Fans of nautical history, don’t miss the well-done Museu Nautico da Bahia here. The new large shopping center, Shopping Barra, is located here with upscale fashions and restaurants – nice place! Try the tasty cheese (Queijo Assado) they roast on the beach. Sipping a caipirinha is a thing to do in Brazil and can be done in many favors.
For less crowded beach experience, we enjoyed the 40-minute ferry ride to Mar Grande on the island of Itaparica. The beach there has three restaurants where you can sit right on the beach with your feet in the sand and enjoy drinks, food, music, and take a dip in the ocean to cool off. The ferry is located in lower city near Salvador’s Mercado Modelo accessed by the Elevador Lacerda. If you are looking for fun Brazilian souvenirs from local crafts people, the Mercado Modelo is the place to go. Praia do Forte is a very nice beach located about 1 ½ hours drive from Salvador.

My second time staying at Nomads - it's now my go-to in Salvador. The people are the highlight here, with really friendly and fun volunteers that create an amazing atmosphere for travelers. It's very social, so solo travelers can always make friends. But the party leaves at night and doesn't return late, because quiet hours are enforced.
It's also a short walk from the Barra beach and restaurants, and great for Carnaval access during those celebrations.
Lobby/breakfast area was very attractive. Breakfast time was a nice experience with an array of things to try - certainly a highlight for this hotel. Wifi on both floors worked. Location is good I thought. Barra beach areas and rambla/walkway were very lively when I was there. A few restaurants and small supermarkets are nearby, as well as an outdoor exercise path next to the big shopping mall complex. You can use Uber to reach Centro for tourist stuff. Easy to use security gate front door and floors were clean. I would stay again.
