The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally located a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. A nice and spacious room with a great view from the balcony! Massive breakfast too! Loved my stay here and would recommend to others! The staff were also friendly and accommodating!

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to our checkin staff, who were very accommodating and made us feel welcome from the first minute. Lots of swimming pools, lovely gardens and a good breakfast buffet. The room was very big, facing the ocean and with a great view. We also really enjoyed the cocktail "happy hours". The property, although somewhat old, was well taken care of. In contrast to other, larger hotels on the island, this one felt very cozy. It was the right size, with the right amount of people. The gardens definately gave a lovely charm to this property.

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel features an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colors. How do you not love this hotel? It has the best location of any place we have stayed. We have been to Madeira four different times since 2017 but this is the first time staying at the Pestana Lido. The rooms are directly on the ocean where you hear the relaxing sound of the waves. The beds are very comfortable with wonderful linens. The Pestana staff is also remarkable. They go out of their way to make you feel special. My husband even had the breakfast staff sing happy birthday to him and gave him a cake to take back to our room! The Valentine’s 6 course meal was outstanding. The pool bar staff was awesome. Thank you for our fantastic 12 night stay! We will be back!
