The city of Sapa has turned into a super touristic city,...
The city of Sapa has turned into a super touristic city, with crowding, bustle and traffic jams on the streets. Everything is very expensive with very low value for money.
Unfortunately we encountered many children in local costumes dancing or taking photos with tourists for a few baht. Local organizations advise tourists not to give money or candy to children so as not to encourage them to drop out of school.
However, the surrounding villages are very beautiful to enjoy the nature, the wonderful view, peace and quiet, The transportation from Sapa to the villages is relatively cheap for citizens who trade with Euro or Dollar. In the surrounding villages there are many good options for accommodation and food with wonderful nature, good services and reasonable prices. There are many hiking trails and all hoteliers can arrange to have a guide at a low price. You can thus meet people from some local tribes and discuss their way of life.
Prefer the surrounding villages, anyway no attractions are inside Sapa.
Currency exchange is not very easy. ATMs only spoke Vietnamese, the bank only opened in the morning, and the currency exchange shop gave a much lower rate. For credit or debit card transactions they charged an additional 5%. Many attractions only accepted cash for the ticket.
In summary I recommend staying outside of Sapa and carrying enough cash.

Sapa is a well known tourist destination.
Sapa is a well known tourist destination. The Cable Car to Fansipan was really awesome. The Cable Cars are a bit expensive for Vietnam standards, but it's completely understandable considering the engineering used to build it. They are still much cheaper than ones I've been on other places in the world(Hong Kong, Gatlinburg USA, others).
The Glass Elevator/Bridge about 30 minutes drive from the city was an amazing experience and highly recommended.
Around the Sapa station area, we tried to sit and relax from walking around all day. Some street sellers dressed in ethnic outfits stood right next to us even after we said no several times. Even after we bought something, 2 more of them showed up and wanted us to buy more. After 10 minutes we had to leave, because we couldn't relax due to their aggressive selling.

Fansipan summit is a breath taking view from suspension...
Fansipan summit is a breath taking view from suspension cable cab. Buy the tickets one way to the summit, then walking down to visit all the pagodas. Bring along a warm coat, ears cover because the summit weather is unpredictable. The day we visited Fansipan, lowland temperature was 19 degree Celsius with clear sky and fully sunny, by the time we reached the summit around 11am. the temperature was dropped down to 2 degree Celsius with high wind and partial cloudy. Most Sapa villages have unpaved trail, be sure to purchase knee high waterproof boots at the Sapa main market if you plan to visit those villages during rainy season. Bring small Vietnamese currency such as 1000VND or 2000VND if you want to give out to the little kids beggar or for a chance to take a picture with them

Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media.
Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media. I would stay 4 days in total. Two for hiking, once north, once south (or taking motorbike tours), one for a traditional ethnic workshop like batik or embroidery and one to go up Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina.
Sapa is a small city that has become increasingly touristic and you will encounter several places that operate with fake google ratings.

We used Trekking Tour Sapa for some walking trips and they were fantastic.
Mount Fansipane is worth a visit.
Overall the town itself is very touristy and Street vendors are plentiful.
The best hotel during our Vietnam trip! I decided to stay at Hotel de la Coupole MGallery due to the reviews. location and it was absolutely worth it. The hotel has a splendid reception area, the staff serving drinks upon our arrival and the room is spacious and clean. The indoor swimming pool is majestic, kids loved it. On my last day, I forgot my belongings and when I was checking out and they immediately took a photo and show me my belonging. I am totally impressed with their service and will definitely come back again!
Our stay at Plum Eco House was absolutely wonderful. The owners were incredibly friendly and amazingly helpful. They even organized transportation for us for our further journey throughout Vietnam. They also assisted us with luggage storage, which was very convenient. The hotel itself is charming, and it offers a breathtaking view of the rice fields. We would like to express our gratitude for their hospitality. Thank you so much for a great stay!
Very comfortable homestay, centrally located in Sapa Town with the most lovely and helpful staff. They allowed me to check in at 2am, and arranged my night bus to Hanoi at the best possible price including a shuttle to the bus station.
The hotel itself is very new, meaning all facilities are updated and modern. Comfortable beds, complimentary toiletries and they will soon be offering breakfast. Great views from the balcony and rooftop as well!
The family rooms with balconies were superb— it has nice views of the street of Sa Pa and Sapa Station. Location of the hotel is good as it is near the Sa Pa Center which has lots of restaurants, cafes, and marts.
Chantel and other receptionists were really welcoming and helpful. They catered to all our queries and needs. They helped us book a cabin bus to our travel back to Noi Bai International Airport.
This is the best hostel in entire Sapa.
The location is right at the center...I have never seen such beds and mattresses in a hostel. The owner has really put effort to make it the best. And the best part is it's not heavy on the pocket. I just paid 215k dong for 2 nights. They also provide free drinking water which is not the case in many hostels in Vietnam.
Honestly, this was one of the best accommodation I stayed in during my Vietnam trip. 🤩
This small hotel is run by a very nice family 🤗 and is close to the main bus station and the city centre.
I had a clean room with a hot shower - unbeatable at that price! 😎👍 I will definitely book it again on my next trip to Sapa - highly recommended! 😍
Central location, friendly staff, the room was very clean. We booked this Amazig hotel beacause recommendation of my friend who did stay before us. Big room, nice decoration, Hug Balcony overlooking to the town and Fanxipan MT but very quite. We did a day trek, organized by the Ricky and It was one of our best experience we had in Vietnam.
We had a wonderful stay in Sapa at Moc homestay sapa. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was immaculately clean. The location was fantastic, particularly on the week-end when the hotel is located in the walking streets of the center city. I definitely recommend this hotel to others.
The breakfast was bad ,we only got a buffet breakfast if Vietnamese people were staying if not choice was very little. The room was lovely and cosy but had to move from 1st one because we booked a mountain view and all we where looking at was the hotel reception and restaurant why they put us there god knows at the hotel was empty
This hotel offers a fantastic location and excellent accommodation in what has become one of my favorite places to visit in Vietnam. The room I stayed in had a wonderful view of Fansipan Mountain, and was very clean and spacious. The hotel restaurant was very good. The staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful.
Perched amidst the misty mountains of Sapa, Vietnam, En Hotel Sapa offers a serene retreat for travelers seeking refuge from the chaos of urban life. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with sweeping views of the verdant valleys and lush rice terraces that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Probably one of the most comfy beds we had in all of Vietnam! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was large and had fantastic views and the shower was great. Hotel also offers a laundry service and can help you book tickets to local attractions like Fansipan Mountain.
I had to learn the hard way that you can’t trust reviews when traveling in Vietnam - so trust me when I say this Hotel is actually really nice. Bed bed was huge, so comfortable, the bathroom was clean and they had a lot of breakfast options. I really enjoyed my stay!
So far the best stay we had on our trip through Vietnam. The hotel is very cosy and stylish. The room was specious, beautifully designed and had a fantastic view over the valley. The staff is exceptionally nice and very obliging. Food and drinks are tasty and fresh.
The BEST hotel in Vietnam. Wonderful western buffet breakfast. Rooms and bath very clean. It is a must if you want to visit Sapa. Also they provide us an upgrade for a bigger room. Kim is very kind with a perfect english and he helped with all tickets.
The best hotel in Vietnam. The room was big and clean, with a nice view. The pool on the top is nice to calm down and enjoy the landscape. The breakfast buffet was amazing, you have so many options to choose from. The staff is also very kind.
We loved the owner of this hotel Sue which she gave me her WhatsApp number in case if we got any problems in Sapa.. She really went beyond to help to communicate with most Sapa drivers who are Vietnamese literate via WhatsApp calls.
The best hotel we had at vietnam at this price. This is a totally different standard than other hotels in sapa, and even if a bit more expensive, it's totally worth it.
Sun, the guy working at reception was especially nice :)
Amazing location, beautiful views and away from hustle and bustle of Sapa. Very friendly hosts. Food was exceptional, loved our dinners there. Breakfasts are really good. One of best hotels during our travel in Vietnam.
We arrived at Sapa at 4am, we got early check in with humble staff. The receptionist is helpful. We rent some motorcycles from the hotel and they told where is the favorite to go.
