I love experiencing ancient History. And this is a perfect place for that. I wish I would have stayed a bit longer here. We visited Imperial City of Hue. We hired a bike and it was very convenient for us.

Loved the antiquities museum.
Loved the antiquities museum. Situated near the citadel but a separate ticket. Lovely old wooden palace. Takes about 1-1.5hr to visit. Often missed in the day tours. A day tour is a good idea as they drive you around to the key sights which are quite dispersed. Often excellent value with lunch thrown in.

The Citadel was a little disappointing.
The Citadel was a little disappointing. It has the potential to be a major attraction. The grounds needed lots of attention. The main royal palace was under construction or maintenance, so a 'no-go zone'.
The audio guide and associated map numbering system used to direct users to all the features of the site was very hard to follow and in some cases inaccurate.

Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968...
Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968 events, expectations about the Citadel were modest. However, both the city and the Citadel turned out to be quite charming and captivating. We spent more than half a day exploring the Citadel.
Using Grab for transportation made it easy and convenient to explore the city.
Just try avoid going during hot periods - we went early April and felt temperatures were extremely hot around 42-44c.

In addition Hue is still not too overrun by tourists, i.e. if you stay a couple of nights at which you have the opportunity to go to local restaurants like CHAN and see how vietnamese families enjoy life.

Hotels don't carry enough tourist information for first time visitors. This should be the role of the Tourist Board. Also a better city map showing more details on how to get to the sites, where to buy tickets and where is the entrance.
The property really does match its name - it surely is a palace! it is stunning! The rooms are very spacious and beautiful- the staff are so attentive to your needs . Alice was amazing! After meeting us at breakfast the first day - on the second day without even asking she brought us the ice coffee exactly how we like it! The pool is beautiful and big! All areas of the hotel

We stayed one night at this hotel due to having to visit the hospital whilst travelling. The host was so helpful, accommodating and was so passionate about her hotel and local area. The rooms were basic but with a super comfy bed. In fact, during a month of travelling through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand this hotel had the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was simple but very nice. I would have no issues in staying here again as I also found it to be a great central location within Hue.
everything. the Hotel is near to the Station across the river of the Zitadel. The interior combines a French Grand Hotel style with an Asian approach and it really works. The staff was polite, friendly and really helpful. The bar and restaurant was awesome too. We had Vietnamese and Western Food and it was so good. We had the plessure to meet Mrs. Liew, the General Manager, and I only can make her compliments for her Hotel. When you come to Hue you should defintly stay here.

The hotel is the best among our all of our staying places in Hue city. Located in a convenient position, steps to the center, to the riverside, to restaurants, markets, and so on. We got beautiful rooms with gorgeous view looking to the river and Truong Tien bridge. The bridge got splendid during the evening when it is lit up in diverse different colours every few minutes. The break fast is good with both Vietnamese and Western options.
- One of the cleanest homestay we stayed at in Vietnam. Amenities and equipment felt like new and well maintained. The view from the window let us see some of the outer walls of the historic city, which was a nice touch.
- Our host Chi was so kind, arranged taxi for us, let us borrow umbrellas for the scorching sun of Hue, cooked breakfast in the morning for us, ect.
- The homestay is just 10 minutes walking from Hue Imperial City.
The women who run the hotel are amazing. Very friendly, kind and great with our little one. They did a mixed breakfast for us - pancakes for kids and Vietnamese soup for us. If you don’t want to head out far, the restaurants in the street are good but if you’re on a budget, those on the main road adjacent to the river are best - and great food. It’s a bit of a party street but gets quiet early on Sunday to Thursday nights.
the room was exactly like the pictures and absolutely beautiful. nice view from window too. the staff were super friendly and they have the sweetest puppy to play with in the lobby! the breakfast was fantastic and all you can eat, their vietnamese coffee was soooo good. location in the heart of Hue. this was the first hotel in vietnam i stayed in that had an elevator lol. i loved it here!

HUE is not like most other hotspots in vietnam, there is no major backpackers/ social place so when u book a place LOOK FOR A GOOD BED! , this has a great bed, central , everything within 5 min walk

The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of the citadel and main town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure that you were OK and had everything and all of the information that you needed about the hotel and Hue, they spoke very good English. The room was very clean and comfortable and our room on the top floor was very quiet.

Wonderful place in the heart of Hue’s city centre. Slightly older hotel but very clean and sturdy. We had a nice small balcony. Pool is very nice and clean and the breakfasts were excellent with a mix of Vietnamese and western choices. (Coffee was pretty good although usually only lukewarm).
The Silk Grand Path Hotel in Hue is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and very well-designed and decorated. The breakfast was great, and the staff was very helpful and kind. It's in a great location in Hue and within walking distance to many sites. We would stay here again!
