Nam Bo is in an excellent hotel and in a very good location to stay while visiting Can Tho. The buiding has been pleasantly renovated, and it is right across a wide street from the waterfront promenade and wharf, with plenty to see within walking distance. They have dining areas on the ground floor, 1st floor, and 4th floor, and a handful of rooms. We stayed in standard double room #2 for 5 nights in March 2024. Our room was not overly large but it was large enough, and very clean & quiet, with a comfortable bed with a nice, firm mattress, good sheets and cover, a small refrigerator, and a good bathroom. (The shower could use some recaulking.) We looked into a couple of the suites they have, and they were lovely. The 4th floor indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant was perfect for enjoying a cocktail while overlooking the river at sunset. We did not opt to include their costly breakfast, and so took ours al la cart in the 1st floor restaurant. Nicely, the hotel comped our breakfast on our last morning there. Great location, nice staff, and pleasant room: we would be happy to stay at Nam Bo Hotel again if we return to Can Tho.

Tourism in Can Tho revolves around the river and associated events. We, as seasoned Vietnam travellers (26 months in the last 15 years), did not do what most travellers on their first visit would deem necessary - an early morning tour of the floating markets (5am start) would seem to be very popular. If you do not fancy an early start, try hiring a 4-seat sampan for a 2-hour morning leisurely cruise up the river to the site of the floating market where you will still see life on the river, but without the hustle and bustle - you can negotiate a 2-hour cruise for 250,000 VND - bargain hard, but if not successful, retire with a smile and try again later - four moored waiting sampans and only one set of tourists makes it a buyer's 'market',
There are three large, moored, floating restaurants at the pier - they seemed very popular each evening, but maybe not so popular with those travelling on a limited budget - check menu prices before committing.
An interesting place to visit (free) is the original French administration prison (near the Ninh Kieu Footbridge) which was used initially by the French to incarcerate troublesome political activists, and after 1954 by the South Vietnanese government for similar purposes, and finally by the newly-reunified-Vietnam government after the fall of the South Vietnamese government at the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. The original French overnight leg-iron restraints would appear to have remained in use by all the various administrations wanting to detain their unwanted activists!!!

Can Tho a bustling riverside destination.
Can Tho a bustling riverside destination. Lots to do in and around Can Tho. If its going for an early boat ride for the floating markets as you watch the sunrise, followed by spending time relaxing at a cafe enjoying good coffee to enjoying walking street of a night time to see it lit up and lively. Personally I enjoyed Can Tho. If I need a break from beach and city its a great place to lose yourself for a couple of days.

We have stayed in the Nam Bo several times now, and all of the rooms we have been given are very comfortable.
You feel like part of the family when you stay at the Nam Bo Hotel.
The location is the best, plenty going on along the riverside, a truly great spot.

Points of tourism interest are not all located in Cantho, but scattered all around Mekong delta (let’s say radius 2 or 3 hours drive) so it’s important to siriously plan the stay in this area, otherwise improvisation leads to waste of time.

Very commercial place that you find more tourists than anywhere else. Other than floating market, other experiences were boring. A night market with made in china clothes and low quality foods, a walking street with western fusion dishes, some workshops for tourists to see local products in the making but nothing very impressive
Can Tho Ecolodge totally exceeded our expectations. Huge room in very attractive, quiet setting with lovely gardens and pool area. Slightly out of town which suited us well for the peace and quiet. We ate in. Very attentive staff in the reception area and restaurant. Delicious breakfast buffet with a chef cooking eggs and omelettes at a table in the dining area to order. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel tour to the floating market and other local sights. Vincent our guide was superb. We enjoyed sitting around the pool in the afternoons.
Location very good, just walk to all nice places of city. Hotel but service very friendly same like homestay. Staffs and owner very kindly and helpful. This is trust address. You don't need guider if you stay here. The owner is best guider.
This hotel follow minimalist style: simple but clean. Modern mix traditional pattern. Chill lobby. In the byroad but inside of the hotel very ventilation.
For a mid-range hotel, this is the best hotel, it's too cheap to compared to the location and the benefits that the hotel gives us.
The staff is very helpful. The property is in a really sweet little residential neighborhood (and yet very close to both, the Kieu and the main Hoi Binh street). Cycling around the neighborhood for a short bit is quite an immersive activity!
We also took the Floating Market tour organized by the hotel (for 2 people), which was excellent — the hotel had tied up with a guide named Bao, who was very friendly, informative and genuinely just a really fun and kind person to hang out with! :)
Great hotel! Got upgraded to a bigger room which was amazing. spacious room and very clean. bathroom also very clean. daily cleaning. fresh towels and water. staff is helpful and friendly however for reference my boyfriend speaks Vietnamese. ac works well, hot water. quiet area. will need a scooter to get around but hotel has scooters for rent. amazing value for price we paid! laundry service also available for cheap. overall a great hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
Tuan is a very good host. He takes care of his guests at any time. The excursions are very good and the common dinner is very tasty (ingredients are bought together in the market in the morning). The rooms are big and very clean. In addition, the pool, the garden and the accommodation is very nice. So far our best and most beautiful stay in Vietnam! It is highly recommended to plan a stay in Can tho at Tuan! Really exceptional! :)
The Sheraton Can Tho is a beautiful hotel. It's in a great location, it has a gorgeous view of the river. The staff and facilities are definitely 5 star worthy. The receptionist upgraded my room upon check in, which was great. They have an extended happy hour with delicious cocktails to choose from and their buffet breakfast was an amazing spread.
Room is quiet large, suitable for family 2-4 members to stay. Room is also clean and tidy, full of equipment (air conditioner, electric water heater, internet tv, hair dryer, makeup table...)
Hotel located in a new urban in suburb of Can Tho city, so it's very quiet and and well for long stay.

The place is beautiful with a garden and ponds. The owner was very helpful and generous. He let us use his printer to print out our visas for free. Rustic and in the more rural part of of Can Tho. The scooter rental was the normal rate you see in Vietnam and the bike worked fine. Great value for what you get.

We stayed there for a night and we felt sad for not staying longer :(.Experience was wonderful. Well trained staffs, tasty meals, room with high comfort and a swimming pool to swim in these sweltering days. The hotel let us stay over 2 hours although it was the time for checking out.
everything was amazing! We enjoyed Can Tho thanks to Bosa and his family. He prepared everything. Arranged moto rent, Mekong river tour, every evening prepared dinner like from heaven! we had amazing vietnamese hot pot with seafood all included in price! Thank you Bosa :)
