The town of Winthrop is one of the many unique small out of the way places that has a fun character harkening back to the early days of this nation. The Town has maintained its small western town identity that can take visitors back to a more simple way of life. Even though it is a bit on the touristy side, it is worth the visit. Most impressive is the mountain range that Winthrop is a gateway to. The North Cascades Highway winds through some of the most awe inspiring landscapes in the USA with its rock formations, lakes, rivers, and dams not to mention the mind numbing hiking trailheads all along the road. My wife and I went for the hikes and were not disappointed. With Winthrop as our base, we could have spent a week hiking.

Winthrop is a cute little western style town.
Winthrop is a cute little western style town. If you like to meander through shops then this is the place for you. We like to hike and bike and thought the trail maps were very limited as we prefer not to ride on roads or mountain bike, just easy trails. The State Park is beautiful and the lake is large enough to fish, SUP, boat and swim. We will definitely return to the town, as camping opportunities abound.

I absolutely hated this place.
I absolutely hated this place. The room was full of mosquitoes but yet we never got bit outside. The buildings were all in need of repair. The eaves were broken. The pools were all dirty one hot tub was not working. The small pool actually had a dead rabbit stuck in the filter. When we told someone about it nothing was done. We left that same day and forfeited one days stay. We all vomited on the way home three times. I still get an upset stomach every time I think about it. Our family does not make much money and we spent a lot of money here. The money we spent on the e-bikes was not worth it either. In my opinion this is a dead resort and needs to be buried.

Winthrop is a real "western." town.
Winthrop is a real "western." town. We went to the Old School house brewery for a great hamburger and beer made at this facility. Winthrop is right on the road to perhaps the most beautiful mountains in Washington. For motorcycle riders, hiway 20 over Washington Pass to Winthrop is the number one rated ride in the state.
This hotel was a pleasant surprise due to cleanliness, spaciousness and overall comfort of the room. We appreciated the patio looking out into the peaceful river, and the cold airconditioning on a hot day. It is also a less than 10-minute walk to town via a nearby pedestrian bridge. We recommend this place to travellers looking for a comfortable night's stay.
Winthrop Inn is an old hotel, but it is clean, has all the essentials, very welcoming staff. We travelled with three kids for hockey tournament in winter. Breakfast is not provided, but there is microwave and fridge in the room. There is a groceries stores right next to the hotel. A hill behind the hotel next to the river, for snow sledding fun.
The location was excellent, Winthrop is a cute little town just outside of North Cascades, which makes it a great stopping point when visiting that area. The inn was amazing, clean, lots of little details in the room that we loved. Breakfast had a great selection of food, the hashbrown was super delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Easy to find and access. Parking was plentiful and close to entry. Bed was very comfortable. Had good sunlight on balcony, read until ~ 8:30 PM. Unit faced the HiWay, but no annoying vehicle sounds. Unit was clean and quiet. Coffee maker needs better instructions.
Will stay again when visiting Winthrop.
1) This was a very clean room (even in the bathroom floor corners, where you can tell how deeply/regularly it's done)-- one of the cleanest I've seen.
2) The room was a bit larger than your typical hotel room.
3) Not just a coffee maker, but a Keurig!
4) Nice balcony overlooking the river.
Wow. This place is amazing. The cabin is cozy and warm, even with unusually cold temperatures in the valley, and the layout is perfect for preparing our own meals. The bed was comfortable, and the place was clean. It's also close to everything in Winthrop, so we could just walk from there.
Location was amazing. Right in the heart of Winthrop and loved having a deck looking out onto the river. The cabin had an awesome amount of space for our family of five. Convenient walking distance to restaurants/cafes. Easy to check-in and park. Wish we could have stayed longer!
On top of a beautiful hill overlooking a stunning scenery is located this very pretty country style hotel. The rooms are slightly dated, but there is so much beauty around that it made little difference. We also had dinner and breakfast, which were also very pleasant.
This motel is always clean and the front desk personnel is very nice and accommodating. The rooms have some updating and the pool is clean and fun with pool toys. This property is also close to a general store and the town of Winthrop is only a mile or so away.
Winthrop is a very cute town where the locals have 4+ generations of history in this western river town. The Hotel is charming, situated along the river. A great stop-over on our way south. Several restaurants are closed on Tuesday, but we located a good meal
We loved the room and the view. The accommodations were exceptional. The pool, hot tub, and fitness room were close by. Walking trails were nice to have.
The proximity to the Mountains and a small town like Winthrop made Sun Mountain and excellent venue.
very clean. Kitchen area good set up for simple meals using microwave oven. Cute deck to sit on to relax eat a meal. Lots of hiking trails around the area, restaurants close by. Winthrop and Twisp fun to visit
Lovely and rustic little hotel, with a great porch and view. Conveniently located right in the middle of town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Winthrop.
The property was very quiet and clean. It is centrally located to the town of Winthrop and not far from Wisp. Both towns had nice shops and good restaurants.
Great location close to downtown Winthrop , room was very nice , very clean . Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good too .
