We took our emotional support dog and her sister. They refuse to pay for emotional support and animals and we were so looking forward to watching a movie from our room but were sent to a complex where if we had wanted to watch a movie we had to drive. We had other guests staying there for the same function but they weren’t punished for having their pets with them. If undisciplined, rude children and their parents are allowed why can’t well behaved support animals. I was born and raised in Monte Vista but I’ll never stay there again

Our favorite hotel to stay in the whole valley. The room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable. This place has a charming vibe, people can get here a unique experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast in the morning with different menu every day. Restaurants and a bowling alley just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall the best value what you can get for your money. Highly recommended to everyone, we will stay here every time when we travel this area.

They have a small but very well run historical museum. The collection of Anasazi baskets is outstanding. We enjoyed the case about Fremont’s 4 expeditions as we are big followers of Kit Carson memorabilia.

The accommodations in the historic hotel are very nice. Don't expect a large shower - but it's well maintained.
The hotel only disappointed on some "changes" from our last stay. (Yes, we returned) No courtesy rolls & coffee in upstairs setting area, no great breakfast in dining room. And, sure, prices have gone up.
Tim, the owner, went above and beyond to assist my wife and me. We brought our kayak with us, but soon realized that there was no available transportation up the river. Tim not only volunteered to take us up the river and drop us off, but he assisted us with leaving our vehicle at the river's exit point so that we could readily return to the hotel when we were done! Now that is service!
The hotel is an old hotel beautifully restored and located conveniently in the center of the town of Del Norte. The food and beverages were amazing, and the wine selection is extensive. Be sure to have a cocktail made by one of the talented bartenders.
After a rainy cold day the room was warm and the beds were comfortable, the shower was warm. We also ate at their restaurant and the food was delicious. I would definitely book their again and I will always remember this hotel as an excellent place.
