Before our arrival we arranged all tours around Zanzibar with hotel , everything went well. Dolphine tour was amazing. Hotel is small but so cozy , you have everything you need. cool and friendly staff. too close to the main beach. exchange office is next door and shops for gifts. in the bar they play 70' and 90' rock songs which is big plus for me.

The staff was amazing and really made sure, that we have everything that we need.
Since the hotel on the pictures is currently under renovation, we got a room in the Canary Nungwi Hotel with a free room upgrade and free 60 minutes massage for each one of us.
It would be better to place some information in the Booking.com description, that the hotel is a different one, but they really cared well for us at the other hotel, it was a great stay and they definitely made it up for that small confusion.
They also let us stay a bit longer on our last day and gave us a different room, such that we could shower once more before heading to the airport in the late afternoon.

people will rudely interrupt your conversations or meddle even when you tend to children in case to offer their (sometimes illegal) goods or services, and become angry if ignored, or just keep standing/walking next to you, sometimes in groups, sometimes to the hotel door or whatever other destination, trying to imitate your language all the while
if you talk back to them and allow them to tag along, they will demand money for their time/effort afterwards
so definitely not recommended for families with kids, and generally you have to be tough to be able to enjoy the (very dirty) beach despite all this

Nungwi is probaly the nicest beach in Zanzibar. Its not overcrowded and yet has enough restaurants and bars. Alway take care when walking along the beach, when you try to return you might not be able to due to high and low tide. Also visting and eating at the fish food market is a must, tgey have daily fresh fish and seafood and tge prices are affordable

They don't know when to stop bothering you.
I am there to enjoy the sun and the beach not to be harassed by them, after I kindly explained that I don't wish to talk, have a good day, they literally follow me and don't leave me alone.

Nungwi used to be a small fishersmen's town, but it is now buzzing with bars, hotels and restaurants and lots of activities to do. If you want to go on a snorkeling trip, or have other fun activities. Then this is your spot. I appreciated the beautiful ful of the ocean - with the clear blue waters and the fishermen working.

What i liked most is the Staff who were very caring especially when my daughter fell ill there did their best to help her. Food and ambience were just great not forgetting about the friendly owners, I would definately recommend a friend of even family members at your property, I have nothing to complain of.
Zanzibari Hotel is the best hotel that you can stay at in Zanzibar. Food is excellent. Rooms are so clean. Towels are changing everyday 2 times. You can also swim but if you prefer to swim at sandy beach you need to walk like 10 mins. Hotel provides you all you need. They work hard to make us happy. Thank you once again to all team Zanzibari. Masaian staff was also amazing. We ll %100 come again.

I’ve never been anywhere so beautiful, this place is unique in Zanzibar. I read reviews and was a bit worried but it just took my breath away with its beauty. The service was amazing, food delicious beach the whitest sand I’ve ever seen , sea the most turquoise, quite no hassle like other beaches just idyllic. Basilisa and Nasir are the perfect hosts, they were starting Sunday events while I was there, a moon rise dinner and then lazy Sunday afternoons with acoustic music… fantastic food, set menu… yummm
We stayed at Dantes for two weeks and everything was awesome. Breakfast was very delicious and satisfying ( that pancakeee :), I am a serious coffee addict and I remember being so happy when I found Nespresso coffee here).
Frankly, Before coming to the island, I had some hesitations about the food, but guys, the hotel's food is really successful. 2 chefs work at the hotel and they cook incredibly delicious food.
And the hotel is very close to the most famous nungwi beach. We will definitely come again.
Mohammed and Sarah were very nice and attentive, always present and working hard to make sure everything is ok. There is a 24hr Masai security person and location is great with a 4-5 minute walk to the beach.
Only the room with shared bathroom was available for us and we were skeptical of it's availability and cleanliness, but it was almost always available and cleaned multiple times a day, that was amazing.
Wifi was also good which is apparently uncommon in Zanzibar.
Atii Garden is the best stay you can get in Zanzibar. The owner and his stuff were very very friendly, kind , always there if you needed help. The property is like a oasis, lot of vegetation and a cute monkey says hello every morning. It is not noisy and it s very close to the beach. The room was always very clean, the water had pressure and the breakfast had everything you needed to start a morning : good coffee, tea , different menu choices. I super recommend it .

We have been in Zanzibar for 14 days, and stayed at various hotels in Stone Town, Chwaka and Nungwi. And we have to say that Babalao Bungalows has been the best hotel so far- and that is why we are back for the secound time during or stay!

Location is very convenient for the beach, the rooms are basic, staff are very friendly and lovely ! But few issues made my stay not so enjoyable, first the WiFi only works in certain parts of the accommodation, needs to have a better ceiling fan or AC as it’s very hot in Zanzibar, loads of lizards and insects around the rooms, Papaya has some room to grow to shine be a 5* accommodation
The location is perfect! The property is located on one of the best beaches in Zanzibar. The reception and housekeeping staff are wonderful and friendly and very responsive to our needs and requests (can't say the same for restaurant staff - with some exceptions). The food is amazing and very delicious (although the menu is somewhat limited). Big ups to the chef/s.

Our room was very spacious with spectacular balcony view right at the serene Indian Ocean.
The great value about this hotel is their lovely beach restaurant with a unique fusion menu, we had some delicious wraps ordered to our balcony.
Beachfront room with spectacular views, rooms size was great, breakfast was decent. Infinity pools, private beach 10/10. It's a pretty hotel, well managed. Roof top bar lovely however expect UK prices on the drinks and food... Rather expensive for zanzibar... However Nungwi and kendwa are prime locations so no surprise.
The location is perfect, right in front of the best beach in Zanzibar. Service was great, and the receptionist Shafii did everything he could to fulfill our requests and make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was good too, and the restaurant in front of the property is worth the visit. Sunset there is also very nice!
In Cocolala we found a peaceful and welcoming place, the staff and especially the owners were helpful and very kind, they provided everything we needed and were ready to help you with anything. If you want to stay in Zanzibar and have good quality/price you must come to the Cocolala beach house!
It’s a quiet and relaxing place in Nungwi! It’s convenient to have the on-site restaurant, as well as the beach side restaurant. Rooms are as advertised, the grounds are really pretty and the staff is friendly and helpful. Also the hotel Tuk tuk is so convenient.
