We had a great stay at Lakeshore Hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and spoke great English. The hotel accommodated an early check in for us which was much appreciated as we had just arrived from North America. We enjoyed the neighborhood, it was easy to walk to most points of interest in central Tainan and there were lots of good places to eat close by.

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Traditional city that almost represents the development history of Taiwan city, including the building, religion and the famous street food. Actually Tainan keeps its unique culture of Taiwan city, then based on the culture attracting a big scale of Taiwan humanities and cultures.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
Slow Tainan feels much more intimate and warm than a standard hotel. The room was incredible -- a dining area with a Japanese-style table and two big beds in a lofted upper floor area. The room's japanese-themed decor was so lovely. There are many different lights in the room to get the perfect lighting and plenty of space to fit several people and luggage. Two windows that can be opened for more air and to see the alley below. This was one of four hotels I stayed in during this trip and it was far and away the best.
This was an excellent choice as a base for a few days sightseeing in Tainan old town. Very comfortable room, great breakfast buffet and lovely staff. The only inconvenience was that the hotel catering outlets were closed or not serving food on a weekday evening, so we had to go out in the pouring rain to find somewhere to eat. But this will not deter us from booking the Grand Banyan again when we go back to Tainan in a few weeks time.
Being a Homestay facilities, it is different from the normal business hotel. It is located near Shennong street & Guohua street with lots of delicious food. Warm welcome by the owner, providing valuable advice on nice food nearby and how to get around in Tainan. Owner provided the additional hangers and towels promptly upon requested. Would love to stay See Love B&B if visit Tainan again.
The host is super friendly and helping, giving us all the details about where to sightsee and to eat in Tainan. She answered almost all our questions immediately and did her very best to solve every problem. It was truly a magnificent experience. Tainan has always been splendid and unique for a tourist, but the host of this hotel really elevated my voyage to an impeccable level.
The hotel is in a really good position to visit Tainan (very close to a few main touristic spots and only 20 minutes of bus away from Anping).
The room was spacious and nicely decorated, the bed was really comfortable and we had a lot of commodities included in the price.
There is also the possibility of renting bikes, which is a big plus!
The staff was very nice :)
The managers were kind, friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to many good restaurants and within walking distance of transportation and interesting sights.
The managers operate a restaurant around the corner where we had some of the best food during our stay in Tainan!
We also appreciate the decor of many plants!
There is really nothing to complain about at all. Only the price could be a little lower but everything else is amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly and the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel!!
Also the bed and shower are exceptional! I love this place and will never choose another hotel in Tainan!
The staffs are friendly and helpful. We booked the shuttle transfer from hotel to Tainan train station but we are early so they help us to book a taxi instead. The breakfast is delicious and tasty. There are local seasonal food and the varieties are different everyday. We have a great stay.
The room has great size with view and open-able windows (which is not always happening for hotels in Tainan.) Room is clean and the shower is luxurious. And it's 3 min walking distance to the prime eating/drinking/parting district in central Tainan.
Super clean modern bigger hotel. Very close to dowtown area. Easy walk to some of the sights & markets.
Many restaurant options nearby & a convenience store a block away. A kettle in the room with water, coffee & tea available.
I like staying at this hotel, because it is very close to the station, I have stayed at this hotel twice, and I got a spacious room with cendelo and a view of the Tainan Station, the hotel is comfortable and clean.
The service was great, employees are extremely friendly and kind. I love the room because it has cool painting on the wall and clean. I highly recommend it to stay in this hotel if you travel to Tainan.
I would call this place as Homestay. All the decors brought me back in time, mixed with Japanese and Taiwanese styles. It locates in small and quiet alleys, makes the trip to Tainan nostalgic.
Room was quite spacious and had private wash room. Included toiletries, drinking water, washing machine (but no dryer). Good location that isn't far from Tainan Station and many bus stops.
The best hotel in Tainan. Their service, food, cleanliness everything is really appreciable . Staffs can speak English very well. The quality of breakfast so good. worth for money .
The hotel is super clean. It is located in the heart of Tainan so takes you less than 20 mins to go around for famoust spots. Price is affordable as well.
