One can get a little nostalgic when talking about the development of Hua Hin. The first beachside resort town in Thailand was originally a small fishing village. It manages to maintain a laid-back atmosphere despite chain hotels invading the best vantage points along Hua Hin Beach.
The current King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej, spends much of his time here in the royal residence of Klai Kangwon Palace, built in 1927. The local Thai population have followed ever since as they escape the stifling heat of Bangkok.
Hin Lek Fai Hill provides the finest outlook of the bay and its 5 km-long stretch of beach. The central Hua Hin Night Market satisfies your wallet and your stomach with its mix of local souvenirs and freshly cooked seafood.
These days there is a distinctive cosmopolitan flair to the city with many restaurants and hotels purveying a European influence. It is also less hectic than Pattaya, the rival beach resort on the other side of the Bay of Thailand.
Hua Hin Airport has flights from Bangkok, and the wooden Thai-style train station is regarded as the prettiest in Thailand. The city has many hotels and resorts for families and couples and Booking.com can also accommodate you at the famous Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas.

The place was nothing like what we booked.
The place was nothing like what we booked. We reserved a pool view unit with a living area and separate bedroom. Instead we were given a room facing outside to a construction site and the very noisy night market with a band that played loud music into the night. Towels were the cheapest possible nylon and quite dreadful, so very difficult to dry. The washing machine was filthy and unusable. And although we didn't need it, the sofa-bed there was actually just a mini chaise-lounge.
We were glad to get out of there, to be honest. I suspect they swapped the room from what we booked to a worse one. Kate - the manager - was basically non-contactable once we asked about the room.

Hau Hin feels safe and has many shops to suit all budgets, excellent choice of restaurants but parking is extremely difficult. General prices are what one would expect in a tourist resort.
I always enjoy my visits to this area

The biggest issue in Hua Hin is that the main road where many hotels are located near the beach is about the busiest in the area. If you are driving it is necessary to go a distance before you can make a U turn. You should only cross this road at the designated pedestrian crossing, otherwise it can be dangerous.
My critique of cities in Thailand - the sidewalks are not level in many places. You really have to pick up your feet and watch where you are walking because at any moment the grading can change and you will trip; Hua Hin is no exception.
Also, at times Hua Hin can have polluted air blowing your way. However, you will not be inundated with sewage smells like many other Thai cities.
Overall though, this city is safe, the weather is manageable and it is relatively easy to navigate your way around.

There is not much cultural activities, at least that I know of apart from the very nice Ciccada Market (art, handicraft, food and music). So renting a bike or using Grab is necessary if you want to explore a bit more than central Hua Hin. So include it in your budget. The malls are 2 and 4 km away. It's a bit difficult to find good restaurants with a reasonable price, there are many cheap but so-so restaurants. The restaurants in the night market nearby clearly target the tourists : 400 bht one plate when in other ones you pay 100 bht....

I know HuaHin for almost at 20 years and it hasn’t changed staying still quite and nice comparing to other cities. The center of the city is optically not welcoming and forms a typical Thai style agglomeration townhouses systems with unfortunately growing traffic congestions.
Hua Hin Euro city Hotel located at HuaHin City center, which near to Railway Station. The night bars like Soi-80 is 400 meters and Binhaibaht 500 meters, beach 400 meters and also food night market 300 meters.
It’s really comfortable place for stay. I highly recommended to solo travelers as well as families too. Prices are appropriate and if you want green tea then hot water also available there for free. The staff are good and can speak English well. You need to pay cash because there is no credit card payment available.
Lovely guesthouse in a Thai neighborhood that feels just like home. Big living room and kitchen. Som is such a friendly host and was so helpful and even offered us a beach mat. She’s very humble and nice. Would stay again accept its very hard to sleep between 22:00-2:00 (10p-2a) because of the loud bass music from a nearby club that rumbles the entire neighborhood everybody night. Loved the little outdoor sitting area. And the outdoor kitchen in the house next store was cool too. Hua Hin beach is just a short 20 min walk!
A beautiful hotel in the middle of Hua Hin. Lovely room with a huge comfortable bed 🛌. The place is spotless and the staff clean the room every day. Staff were so nice and helpful and they will do your laundry and return it smelling lovely.(it's the small things that matters most). Just a few minutes away from the main drag and the beach ⛱️. The Village Market is just a few minutes walk away and has lots of shops and restaurants. Overall a great place to stay for a good price 👌. Highly recommended
The room and facility complex was top notch. All the amenities you could ask for and so well kept. Everything was kept clean and ready to use. I may look into buying a unit for personal use. Wonderful place just a couple of minutes walk to a nice quiet beach. A minute walk to two of the best night markets in Hua Hin. And a few minutes from 7-11 and other stores. Absolutely loved this place and can not recommend enough for short or long stay!
Very close to everything, good price for a little private room where it is so close to the beach, the owner and staff are super friendly and super helpful, they all can speak good English, surprise me one of the receptionist can speak perfect Chinese too,she make me know Thailand so much more! First time to Hua Hin,plaza is a perfect place for back packer who want to have a private and quiet place for sleeping but meet the economic budget
Breakfast was good,, wasn't provided by hotel but, discounted. The pictures on booking. Com were accurate perhaps 10 years ago. A little ruff around the edges now but, still Decent place to hang out. Really liked the huge windows in the room, I stayed in, 5B. Nice balcony and views of the ocean and Hua Hin. Very close to the beach, restaurants, bars, shopping and nitelife. And the pier of course.
Perfect location: on the beach and in the middle of Hua Hin, close to malls and markets. Very clearn, big and comfortable rooms with everything you can think of, very tranquile and relax mood, very kind staff, nice pool, lots of sun beds, 5 stars breakfast, extremely delicious food in the restaurant. Easy check in and check out. Extremely convenient communication via wats up with the reception.
Very nice hotel in a central location but could be better
Good value
Nice, clean, large, bright, quiet, comfortable room. Nicely decorated
Very good breakfast
Very near to night market and walking distance to beach
They have free shuttle to beach but only 3 times a day
If you want a hotel at a reasonable price in the centre of Hua Hin, we can recommend but not highly
Absolutely everything. It’s beautiful, comfortable, super well designed, the staff is great, right next to the best beach in Hua Hin where you’ll find the best beach bar. It’s a dream of a place. Loved everything and it was the best stay in Hua Hin, which is a place that can be very disappointing if you’ve visited other parts of Thailand.
Love love love this hotel! Very cute! Clean and walkable to anywhere. Very near to hua hin beach. Plenty of cute cafes and restaurants. Friendliest staff. They help us on figuring out our bus location for our next stop. Going so far to accompany us to the bus stop (its not a bus stop, just a intersection of a road, hence the confusion)
Location, gardens, room, staff and breakfast were amazing !! Pool and beach area fantastic! We loved the HHBC cafe which was a great place to start and end of evening! Reception staff and night manager Top made us so welcome as we didn’t check in until 3am. A great hotel! Made our trip to Hua Hin very memorable! Thank you!
Excellent customer service, fast check-in. Very close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.
It is a wonderful hotel and great value for money with a good size swimming pool.
comfy bed and high end toiletries
Really can't fault it for the money
Will definately be back when staying in Hua Hin
The place is 5 min walk to the beach. The room itself is clean and have everything we need for our stay. We brought our dog with us and they didn't charge extra fee for the dog. Staffs are nice and friendly.
We enjoyed our time there. Definitely come back again when we visit Hua Hin.
This is the most gorgeous little hotel. Quiet, cosy, scrupulously clean. Lovely staff treated me like royalty! Great breakfast available. Great location for beach and central Hua Hin, easy to catch a song tiew in. I highly recommend this hotel, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
Nice pool in front of the beach. Hotel is located in a quiet and somewhat isolated area south of Hua Hin, with parking available. Breakfast and food in general was good. As the lobby area is a few minutes (less than 5) walk from the beach, there is a buggy cart service available.
Great location, in the centre of Hua Hin and right on the beach. Big pool with shallow areas for children to play. Good sized condo with plenty of space. Towels and beach towels provided, good selection of kitchen crockery and utensils.
One of the best hotels where I have been. Definitely the most beautiful park... The hotel is surrounded by all kinds of tropical plants and has direct access to Hua Hin beach. Staff is exceptional as well as the restaurants.
I like the location of the hotel, walking distance to the beach, and it has tops daily on the main street, there is massage along the alley, staffs are accomodating and feels like home.
Great little hotel in the centre of hua hin, with good WiFi. 5 minutes walk from everything, beach, bar/restaurant/nightmarket etc....
Would stay again if visiting hua hin.
