Location location location. Besides being walking distance to the train station as well as the local supermarket, we were able to make multiple trips to the lake to view the northern lights but most importantly, easily follow the elaborate hiking paths into the beautiful mountains of the national park.

This is accommodation exceeded our expectations. We had such a great relaxing 4 day stay here and even got to see the northern lights one night. The stuga has everything you might need and is even more spacious and beautiful than in the pictures. Everything was super clean. The surrounding area is perfect for winter walks and the views are incredible. We highly recommend this place and hope we can come back one day!

This property was EXACTLY as described but bigger! It was SO cozy. SO beautiful. SO comfortable. I absolutely will stay here again.
Abisko is a really beautiful place. We went there to see the Northern lights and we were not disappointed. We also joined a snowmobile trip near our accommodation and it was fun and adventurous to tour around while riding the snowmobile and see wonderful sceneries. There are some other activities that can be done in Abisko too. Loads of love from Malaysia.

Abisko is small and friendly with a significant international population during the tourist season. It was easy to reach by overnight sleeper train from Stockholm. There is plenty to do but most people were there to see the Northern Lights because of its reputation as one of the most spectacular and accessible places in the world to see them. The only place to buy food is the convenience store attached to the gas station but it has a good range, at the prices you would expect for such a remote place. We visited in a “heat wave” of -15C in December when the locals expected more like -25C. Most accommodation and activities rent or provide boots and clothing to help you cope!

We particularly liked the fact that Abisko is remote and unspoilt. The scenery and mountainous backdrop are breathtaking and to have been able to hike around the area was delightful.
Seeing the Northern Lights on our second night, facilitated by Alex, was a dream come true and furnished us with some amazing pictures to take home to those who didn’t believe we would see them.
We ate a good, reasonably priced meal at Abisko Turiststation and would have liked to have tried the food at The Mountain Lodge but it was shut which was a shame.
The supermarket nearby is well- stocked and comparatively reasonably priced for essentials such as milk and bread.
The village is easily navigated on foot and well-signposted.

The natural part is stunning.
The natural part is stunning. Both winter and summer periods are filled with activities. Winter is special for the northern lights and 24hours night while the summer is known for the midnight sun and the Kungsleden trail for hike.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We were staying there for several days, instead of just using it as a start of a long hike, were afraid that there is not going to be much to do. But there were enough short hikes and different views to keep us busy and in complete awe. Also, so many berries.

I was in a mixed dorm - which was clean and had enough space. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They could however store toilet papers in the bathrooms as they tend to run over before the maintenance breaks.
Food was ok not great and little option available for snacks. Esp since this is a cold place - warm snacks would be a god send - and that was not even an option here.
The hostel was located in Abisko National Park. The only accommodation there. The nearest town, Abisko is about 2km from there, however there is shop that sells essential for our stay. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are clean, however you have to rent a bed linen and towel which are not in the price.
This is the first hostel that required guests to do self-housekeeping after check out but for me it's a good way to keep their price low. For hostel there is common kitchen that you can cook your meal while waiting for aurora,
The staff was really nice, helpful and gave me a lot of advice.
The location was perfect (close to the train station, close to the supermarket, close to the National Park).
The common areas were really nice and clean, and from the living-room, you had a really nice view over the lake.
The bedroom without window was not a problem, it was really dark at night so I could sleep very well actually!
Just outside the property, if the sky is clear, you can see the northern lights!
I really recommend that place!
Amazing place to stay.
A big kitchen for hostel people to store and cook.
We booked a quadruple room with window.
You can also book rentals for winter overalls from the store that is right opposite to the STF's reception.
The stay was so pleasant surrounded by nature and definitely a place to escape the regular hustle and bustle. The view from the room was so nice and we were constantly surrounded by the mountains.
Would definitely recommend STF Abisko.

The location was fabulous. We could see the Northern Lights from our window. Staff was very friendly and helpful, always willing to go out of their way to help all guests. Beautiful surroundings, excellent amenities, comfortable rooms. Absolutely delicious food, breakfast and dinner. I can't recommend Abisko Mountain Lodge enough. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
Amazing place, clean and comfortable, very helpful staff, you no need to carry anything the kitchen is fully equipped, the sauna is excellent, close to the lake, the supermarket and the tourist station you can just walk there and enjoy a super good lunch buffet to recover the energies. This place make my first visit to Abisko unforgettable. Thanks 😁❤️🙌🏻🇸🇪
everything was very nice the rooms are very very small but somehow you manage to put everything you need in it and we had also two dogs with us :) restaurant is awesome and the staff just lovely.. location is very nice close to the abisko national park and we saw the northen lights just couple of km from the hotel
I love the place where you can get all your basic staff. The scenery is ESPECTACULAR, you can see the nodern lights near the lake and the National Park in Abisko Touristic station. The staff are very nice and friendly . It was a great experience . Very happy about everything!!!
Thanks a lot!
Incredible getaway - it’s so secluded and so special compared to anywhere else I’d been. The lodge also is very easily reachable ( 3 min walk from
Abisko ostra), and it helps organise any activities that might be interesting while in the arctic circle. Also the food was absolutely delicious.
Directly connected to the nature park so we could easily walk out our door and start hiking or find a quiet observation point. Despite being busy when we were there (winter), the trails weren't crowded. Lots of options for activities.
Many nice and cosy public areas in the hotel - lobby, library, lounge with the fire place, coutches and armchairs everywhere - really nice to stay there before/after a demanding hike in Abisko National Park. Drying room, sauna.
Near to Abisko national park and location is good to explore the hiking trails. I was here for a night and went for 3 short trails by my own. Common area like pantry and kitchen is huge and comfortable.
