The 2nd-largest city in Portugal's Algarve region after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.

Portimao was a pleasant town to stay in. It's biggest draw is the beach, shopping/restaurants and doing a trip to the Benagil Caves. There is a cute little "train" ride that you can take as well. I feel like there could be a lot more that could be done promotion wise. Maybe some sight seeing tour booths along the main avenue. We came into town by train and used Bolt to get around. Easy to use!

There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach . There are lots of places to eat along the way. Not suitable for someone with a disability as there are lots of steps to navigate to get down to the beach . I ate in a different restaurant every night. The food was good and not too dear. There are lots of little shops to peruse and people are very friendly. I would reiterate that the steps down to beach are not suitablle for someone with mobility issues

Portimao and surrounding area full of interesting places to visit, boat trip to Silves very good. Did trains to Lagos and Lisbon which where good.
Night time Portimao was very quiet, Pria Da Rocha is the place to go, good number of restaurants and bars to choose from, some with bands on.

The location for the race circuit was perfect.
The location for the race circuit was perfect. Nice neighborhood and fairly quiet. Be careful of stray dogs or dogs in other properties if walking around. Security of the gates is good, however the windows (most) don't lock. The kitchen utensils are basic and the kitchen itself. The shower heads are loose and hard to control. Lighting outside wasn't working and bbq was basic. There is a bus stop at the end of the road about 200 mtrs.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. Having a train from the beach to the train station would be excellent.

Beautiful place with beautiful people and wonderful nightlife and beaches all in all, just be weary of the local drug dealers on the main strip they are highly irritating and can be pushy if you don’t interact with them they leave you alone
Great location near the beach in Portimao. we had fantastic views of the ocean from the balcony off our room. The facilities had a resort feel and were top-notch. A very expansive breakfast buffet was available every morning! Truly something for everyone! We didn’t sit by the lovely pool, but many guest did. The hotel was an easy walk to many great restaurants. The staff was very helpful. We loved our time in the Algarve and wished we had stayed here a few more days! We would definitely stay at the Jupiter Hotel again!
A spacious, clean and modern hotel which was ideal for a family holiday. Close to the beach and within walking distance of the main resort area. Rooms are very comfortable with great facilities and sizeable bathrooms.
A good buffet breakfast served each morning, although very limited selection of items so it did become repetitive.
We also had a spacious balcony with a sea view, and a top floor room which was quiet and peaceful during the evenings, ideal for a relaxing family holiday.
This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. We had the ocean suite, which was perfect. Huge comfy bed, 2 tv's, exceptionally clean and well equipped and the view from the balcony was amazing, especially at sunset.
I found the breakfast to be really good, buffet style with lots of options. Easily make yourself the best full English to suit your preference! The location is perfect, only 2 mins walk to the beach, and 2 mins walk to the bars. Plenty of restaurants all around.
The hotel is just a short walk from the beach and next to lots of shops and restaurants. The staff were super nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good. The room was a bit small and the furniture and the fixtures a bit outdated but I found it charming, it reminded me of holidays in my childhood. Importantly, the place has its own parking lot behind the hotel, which was very convenient. The shower has reliably hot water.
- Great location right on the beach with direct access and pretty beach views.
- The breakfast buffet was pretty good, with nice fruit and some nuts (although walnuts were poor quality and most likely not Portuguese [Portugal produces excellent walnuts, so a much better source], and the almonds we sweetened flakes - plain whole Portuguese almonds are tastier and healthier.
- Staff were friendly and mostly helpful.
We chose the apartment as it was close to the Algarve Race track and it was perfect. The apartment was spacious with a balcony giving views of the track, Portimao & the ocean. The facilities were great as well as the mini market. The hotel staff were most helpful & organised with arranging transport of our motorcycle from the hotel to The Netherlands. Wonderful place to relax.
In general this 2 star hotel is deserving of a higher rating. The staff, breakfast, pool, facilities and appearance of the hotel is superb. The location is fantastic, literally 5 minutes walk to the beach. Easy bus links to both Alvor and Portimao about 15 minutes each way. I would definitely stay here again (just not in our room)
Good place to stay to see the south coast of Portugal. Comfy rooms, small parking by the building - available free, but only if there are free spots, so if you get to the hotel late it might be full, but there are lots of free parking spaces at the street behind the building. Close to the sea side. Lots of restaurants arround.
Staff was very friendly and kind. The location is a good spot and pleasing. About a 20 minute walk to the beach or 5-10 minute drive to the beach. AC in the room. There is a shared refrigerator and you can hang your wet clothing upstairs (top roof). There is parking reserved at the front of the hotel and side shoulder.
Very nice and clean apartment in quiet residential complex.Praia da Rocha is the closest beach and one of the best in Algarve region. There are a couple of supermarkets, restaurants in the area but if you are looking for something more authentic I would suggest going to the old town of Portimão.We had a great stay.Thank you
The hotel staff was excellent. They helped us book transfer to the airport, and stored our luggage until the departure time, which was fantastic. The hotel is in the quieter part of Portimao, which we really appreciated and very close to the beach. value for money was great, especially that it was Moto GP weekend.
We had a fantastic stay at Aldeia de Portimão! The spacious terrace was a highlight, offering a perfect spot to relax. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and the cleanliness was top-notch. Highly recommended!
The hotel once was chic enough, but time passes.the apartment is spacey and when we couldn't turn the shower on, the staff member changed our apartment and immediately asked for a plumber to fix it
Very well located hotel for what goes on in Portimao. Food good, if a little bland and excellent value evening meal. The hotel is close to the beach and a number of Bus Stops.
Located very close to the beach and main strip with restaurants and clubs, comfortable and luxurious room, kind staff and the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel!
