The proximity to the National Park was perfect. We loved the villages of Belmont and Sortelha, both gems.
The hotel is uninspiring to look at , but has good public spaces. We had two evening meals which were lovely , not flash but nicely cooked food.

Staff were helpful and friendly greeting us upon arrival. Breakfast had a good variety. Parking was convenient (although beware google.maps directions to the parking area behind the hotel, google tried to direct us to drive down a staircase). Firm beds and good pillows. Wonderful dinner at Hamburgueria Beirã nearby, a must try!

Our room was large with a great view! The gym was large and complete with a personal trainer on hand to help with machines. Easy access by car to the hotel which is well located for daytrips around the area.

An amazing small city located on a mountain. The city is separated into an older part and a more modern part which is located at the lowest part of the mountain. The city has a plethora of murals and street art and you can download a dedicated application where you can find where all the murals are located and have a self-tour. The old part of town has amazing buildings and you can get lost by walking in the small traditional streets. The restaurants are of high quality and all the food we tasted was simply amazing. I will definitely be coming back :)

Unfortunately when we were there for a 3 night stay the weather was poor on two of the days so I might say the stay was too long. Didn't visit the city at the base of the mountain. The village where the chalets are situated was very quiet with not much going on, we spent most of the spare time in the hotel which was nice.

The Pousada is perfect for a relaxing break.
The Pousada is perfect for a relaxing break. The views are incredible. The service is very good, made to feel welcome. You need to drive back down the mountain for restaurants etc but the Pousada has everything you want. The air is fresh and all you can hear are the birds, superb.

A great city to use as a base to visit nearby mountains and go hiking. Also, if it's the right season for cherries, head to the market and get some. This area is home to the famous Cerejas da Gardunha you see in every supermarket in Portugal :)

O’Serrano de Repleto de Magia was fantastic for dinner!!! Covilha otherwise is a lovely, slightly sleep city in the off season filled with very friendly talkative locals. Free parking at the city square until December 2020 so that was great!

Very friendly people.
Very friendly people.
Usually we used to eat at the mall, but since it was locked down (it reopened monday the 1st June) this time we tried the pizzeria just in front of the mall and it had nice pasta and pizza.
We had lunch too at Manteigas, and it was great.
Yes, it is easy to get around Covilhã.
Spacious rooms and good sound proofing in hallways. Excellent and very broad breakfast choices.
Dinner is good value for money as well, for a hotel restaurant plenty of choices to pick from.
Would definitely stay here again when I’m in the area .
There is also a large Lidl next door where you can buy fresh pastries, bread and other essentials.
Other than the lidl there is nothing around the hotel (but I knew that beforehand). So don’t expect this hotel to be in the center of covilha :-)
The hotel has been renovated sooner my last stay and looks very modern. Everything is new and looks/works very well.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Amazing view at Cova da Beira (stayed at the 6th floor).
Covilhã is also the best place to stay as it has lots of points of interest and is central to several others in the area. Also a safe haven during more intense snowfall because you never get locked in as in other locations closer to the Serra da Estrela's Torre (mountain top)
Even better than described, tidy and comfortable, with lots light and plenty of moving space, and a beautiful mix of vintage and newer furniture that work perfectly together. The Wi-Fi was good enough to work and join Zoom meetings without issue, and the beauty of the location in the middle of the old town can’t be beaten. The lovely host is ready to help and respond to any queries. Amazing stay, I would recommend anyone heading to Covilhã to give them a try!
The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel has been refurbished recently and they have done a great job. The rooms are very big and the bathroom is huge. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure and temperature. The room had a lot of natural light but the black-out windows worked perfectly. Extremely cheap for the quality offered. It is located just a 5 min walk from Covilhã's city centre.
Prices have seriously increased regarding food since previous visits. However, food was first class as usual. We, as a group like this hotel and have been going there for the last 6 years. Plenty of parking spaces. Get a taxi to go to the town which is 1.5 mile away uphill, very much so uphill, but well worth the visit. If you eat in, breakfast is huge, and evening meal was comprehensive buffet.
Regards to Juliana.
The hotel is located in the mountains, so it´s perfect location to enjoy nature, landscapes and fresh air. There is also the shuttle bus, going from Covilha, which brings you right to the hotel (which is very convenient if you travel without car). The hotel have very nice continental breakfast with the verity of options.
The hotel, and its location, is absolutely beautiful, with a view from our room and the restaurant stretching out over the region. The bathroom and the bedroom were spacious, bathroom had a shower and a large bath, which I loved. It had inside and outside swimming pools and large shaded grounds with an incredible view.
The location and the building where Pousada da Serra da Estrela is are amazing. Super close to Penhas da Saúde and Torre by car. Great view over Covilhã. Great indoor swimming pool and games room. It was nice to have a small kids club right next to the games room. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
It’s a pity we were only there for one night because the hotel was beautiful, everything was perfect especially the staff . We had secure parking for our motorcycle and a lovely breakfast, the decor was a nice change from the usual sterile looking hotels in Spain and Portugal .
The apartment has all the conditions and equipment and is spacious. The host even left a couple good surprises.
Covilhã can get very cold during the Winter but the heating in the apartment is fabulous.
Bonus: you can take your dog.
Everything that you need for your short or long stay in Covilhã, with the purpose of leisure or work! The house is well equipped and with a great style sense. Very well located in Covilhã city heart.
Modern, bright and clean room. Spacious en suite with a large shower.
The hotel car parking was very handy as the streets around the hotel were very congested.
