Great room (and rate) and facilities/amenities. Staff always courteous and helpful at any hour of the day or night. We never had a meal at the restaurant, so no thoughts one way or the other on it.

An oasis outside of the main part of the city (you’ll need a car). The hotel has a large garden and a nice deck for lounging by the pool. The pool, fitness and spa were small but pleasant. I enjoyed my massage/scrub a lot. There are multiple dining options on property and a large grocery store nearby. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The staff are wonderful.

We visited the Café Cascais in Capelas where the owner was extremely hospitable. Had a lovely evening at this fun restaurant with Manuel on keyboard singing (and us joining in). Good food, drinks and very nice people.
Good location for visiting other parts of the island. As the island is small, it was easy to visit numerous beautiful sites such as Sete Cicades and return to the hotel in the evening. Relaxed, tranquil environment with beautiful scenery.
shout out to a local hairdresser 5 minutes from hotel (don't know her name) who took care of me without any notice. Front desk recommended her. I was very satisfied.

We love Capelas.
We love Capelas. It's a little off the beaten path - more locals than some of the cities on the South Coast of the island. Since the island is relatively small - you can be just about anywhere in 30 - 45 minutes. Capelas is on the sea; driving 25 minutes we were hiking around Sete Cidades.
Capelas might not be for you if you are looking for a mall, lots of shopping or lots of restaurant choices within walking distance.
We mainly purchased groceries at the Continente supermarket - sort of a USA Target type store. Everthing from groceries, to Nike apparel, to homegoods is available.

Great place, full of nature and tranquility, far from the noise of Ponta Delgada. Moby Dick restaurant is a local hangout with good food, good bus connections and lots of supermarkets if you need whatever.
Beautiful oasis of calm. Watching the sun go down over the mountains in the evening from the terrace in our bungalow was magical.
Staff were really attentive and super professional. We’d been travelling around the Azores for a week so it was a perfect place to chill for the last few days of our trip.
The hotel is really well located for exploring the north of the island and close to amenities. Plenty of parking. Warning - Apple Maps takes you to entirely the wrong place. Use google maps!
This place is a Gem, the best welcome we ever had in all the travels , beautiful garden, the different houses are 1st class , we recommend this place for family reunion, even planning a wedding or baptism, because of the little Chapel from 1825. It’s only 15 mn ftrom Ponta Delgada Airport, easy drive to all of the Island.
The hostess Ana , made a beautiful welcome basket, the place is worth the level of a 5stars hotel.
Solar Pontes is a family-owned property located in Capelas. We found the location very practical to go to our hiking trails. It's very central. The room was big and clean, with a super comfortable bed, a big and bright bathroom and a large balcony. The property has a well-manicured garden with chickens and ducks! The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast with local products.
This was an amazing location. Booked initially by accident. The front staff was amazing during our stay and directed us to the local natural springs and sites. There's also a shuttle right in front of the hotel to and from ponta delgada. Breakfast was also amazing and there's even a sauna/ indoor pool

Casa Amarela is situated in the beautiful little village of Capelas. the house is wonderful , very well cleaned and full of all comforts for your stay. there is a beautiful garden with a bbq area and the owner will suggestion you lots of places to visit during your stay.

The casa is spacy with everything you need in it. Only 15 minutes from the airport. Parking is just in front of the house. The incheck procedure on distance, maybe due to corona? Continente supermercado is on 8 minutes drive by car in Capelas. Friendly host, only spoken by phone. Cleaning once during our week stay.
Great property that is away from the crowds in Punta Delgada but still very centrally located in Capelas. Carlos was very helpful and was available to answer any and all question. Everything was clean. The view from the bedroom was amazing. Highly recommend.
if you like laid back - this is perfect for you, rustic and stylish, charming. it’s not a 4 star hotel, you come here to relax and be kind of back in time . we loved it, beautiful view, amazing breakfast, lovely owner who help us to feel at home.

Basic hotel with a pool, it's fine really, a comfortable enough place that's not too expensive to stay in while one explores the island
The place and the view when you reach to the hotel was amazing. Nature itself with the hotel is something that you can´t define. The staff were super friendly.
