Among the best vacation rentals. Fabulous view, spacious and clean, easy walk to the coast with excellent snorkeling opportunities. Host was incredibly helpful and responsive. I couldn't recommend more.

Canico itself has not much to offer, but it is a quiet, clean neighborhood and a 12 min drive from both Funchal and the Airport, however most of the things to do was either in the heart of the island or at the northern part, so be ready to drive around. There are restaurants and multiple grocery stores in the area.

Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops...
Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops/bars/restaurants. There are many large hotels in the area but it is possible to keep away from them and the associated mass tourism.
There is a great sea front walk from the public car park leading to a great restaurant mainly frequented by the locals and this is about 10-15 mins away from the centre.

Nice apartment, very close to the beach and good proximity to Funchal. There are some small things that were missing like shower gel :(, shampoo, soap, beach towels ... also we had some problems with the entrance door in the building but this was resolved fast with the help of neighbors. The parking in front of the building is paid and this should be noted in apartment info. all in all it was a good experince

Great location to explore Madeira island.
Great location to explore Madeira island. Main roads just couple of minutes away so it is very easy to reach any place in the island by car. Many food/drinks stores in Canico. Many restaurants and cafe's.

If you want to visit Madeira, you definitely need to rent a car. I recommend a small car like a Fiat500 or a Fiat Panda because the roads in the cities and villages can be really (I mean REALLY) narrow.
The apartment is very luxurious and well equipped, and the view from the balcony is wonderful. We enjoyed having a glass of wine there on the warm Madeiran summer evening. The place was spotlessly clean and the bed is very comfortable. We received a very warm welcome from the host and will definitely stay here again next visit. If you stay here, make sure to spend a night at La Teraça restaurant. It's a fifteen minute walk from the apartment and absolutely lovely.
Beautiful setting in a botanical garden, excellent food, and very attentive and friendly staff. The rooms are quiet, spacious, and very clean. A terrace with two sunbeds and a table with two chairs provides everything you need to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is situated in the quiet centre of Caniço and very well connected. It is a 20-minute bus ride on line 155 to the Funchal central bus station (teleferico). The trip cost 2.20€ p.p. in March 2022.
The appartement is clean well kept with modern inventory (could use a ventilator in the bedrooms on very warm nights though ;) ) and is situated in a nice building and centrally located in caniço. Nice view of the sea from the balcony. Public transportation to funchal is good but you have to make a study of the departure times.The island is exceptional. It's not a beach island, and you really need transport to get around to explore. All was good.
Fantastic place for a longer stay in Madeira with a view on the ocean. Perfect location and very close to the highway. The property has a garage which is really great. The apartment itself was clean and huge, bigger than i thought it would be, with 2 bathrooms. We really felt very comfortable there. You can also reach city center within 15 mins, where there were many restaurants. Canico is a great base to visit all island, highly recommended!
Everything was perfect! Location, sea view from the room, room itself (big, clean, comfortable)! Delicious breakfast. Beach was very close. Hotel was very clean and personnel was very helpful and friendly!!! There were shops and restaurant nearby the hotel. It was easy to organised some trips from Canico, rent a car. I definitely can recommend it!
This is the most beautiful villa on Madeira❤amazing garden with the very nice seawater pool and ocean view, nice rooms equipped with evth you might need during your stay, friendly and helpful people, we will definitely come back again! The location was beautiful and had a balcony that overlooked the town and ocean. There are many good restaurants in Caniço that are close to the condo and it is has quick access to the expressway and airport. It was also nice to have two bedrooms and two different bathrooms, as well as a washing machine and drying rack.
the hotel was, very cozy and peaceful! it was also great value for money and just a stone's throw from some nice restaurants and the promenade.
the staff were very lovely as well, both Ricardo and Dio Mera were very friendly and welcoming, they also helped us with where to go and what to do!
Centrally located lovely comfortable apartment in Canico. Close to 3 local supermarkets, bakery, cafes and restaurants. Large sunny terrace. A bonus was a good choice of teas, sachets of mayo, olive oil and sauces… that little extra touch was much appreciated. Comfy Sofabed and good bed.
The owner of the apartment, Natalia, was super kind and supportive. She explained in details how to reach the apartment, enter it, and advised us regarding our stay in Madeira. Natalia is definitely the best landlord I've met.

We had a great time in this new and clean house in Madeira! The abundance of rooms provided ample space for the four of us. The variety of appliances and utensils made cooking a breeze, and the grill added to the enjoyment. Overall, we were all very pleased with our stay!
