First of all, the owner of the Club is the manager: he is there and on top of everything. He is a wealth of information. His advice to visit Évora was spot on. Secondly, the place is gorgeous both architecturally and naturally.
The beach and rock formations are stunning. The antiques throughout the hotel are gorgeous. Breakfast was not only nutritious but so generous.

Very easy to get around with all the boardwalks linking the town and the beaches. Lots of wonderful fish and seafood restaurants. A bit quiet for a family for more than a week unless you relish R&R.

Alvor is a lovely place to holiday,There is a boardwalk right along the beach and down to the nature reserve at one end. There are so many lovely restaurants and there is plenty of choice of types of meals on offer. We particularly like the restaurants servig Portuguese food and the fish restaurants by the harbour.
There is a local bus to Portimao and it is also possible to visit other places by bus.

I really liked Alvor - a small quiet town for relaxation. Picturesque coastline, friendly residents, many places to eat deliciously. A convenient place to visit the whole Algarve - Alvor is in the middle. The most beautiful place in Alvor for me is the old town and the beach. We ate a lot of seafood. Great local food, wine, coffee bike. We visited the farthest point in Europe, Cabo da Roca; the highest point in the Algarve - Monchique. I would love to come here again.
Hospedaria Buganvilia has an excellent location in the heart of Alvor. From the hotel you are close to the shops, bars, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk from the beach. Although the hotel doesn't serve breakfast, there are plenty of cafés outside the door which does.
The rooms are very clean and have a good size balcony. The staff are great. Especially sweet Isabel, always smiling and helpful. You feel very welcome and good taken care of at Hospedaria Buganvilia. Thank you Isabel and I hope I'll see you next year!
First time staying at Pelican Alvor. Lovely quiet Hotel,within a 15 walk to Alvor. Room was like a large modern Apartment with all the mod cons. Breakfast was very tasty with a variety of hot food and delicious pastries.Pool area is so tranquil and restful that we actually spent a lot of time at it,something we rarely do on holidays. Extremely good value for our weeks stay. All the staff very friendly especially at check in desk who were very accomodating on our early arrival.Will definitely return next year.
Gorgeous location set above the beach with a secluded cove, virtually private (all beaches in Portugal are public). The facility is immaculate, unusual modern style and very appealing. Staff and owner all delightful. Lovely rooftop pool. Breakfast was excellent. Just a short walk to many beach restaurants and more beaches and coves, including a large beach with SUP and kayak rentals, etc. Just a short drive to Alvaro and it’s terrific restaurants, buzzing but not zooy. The best side of the Algarve.

the cost is quite expensive considering the food isn’t good we had to eat outside because of that and take a long drive to find something. hopefully to gt before 22:00 because this is the closing time😖

What's there not to like about this resort? From the helpful information and assistance by the staff,to the clean rooms,to the gym,the indoor and outdoor swimming pool to the private beach behind the hotel, it's a place I want to come back to again..

This place is in a great location as Alvor has plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. There was also ample parking which allows exploration of the rest of the Algarve area. The owner/staff was very accessible and answered the phone when called about getting into the property. They also had a coffee maker and coffee in the kitchen for use by guests.
Incredible house turned into a hotel where you can either enjoy the beatiful beaches and restaurants nearby or use it as a base station to visit the rest of Algarve. The owners were very kind and they give you very useful recommendations. It was the best experience that we had in Portugal, you are not going to regret if you stay here.

The breakfast is very good,a good selection of hot and cold items and breads,good coffee.The hotel is located in a quiet location about a 10-15 min walk to Alvor and 10-15 min walk to beach boardwalk.We found the hotel always sparkling clean.The staff at the hotel are friendly helpful and informative.
Well equipped, comfortable apartment in a great location close to the town of Alvor and Central to visiting great beaches and other locations around the Algarve. Our family had a wonderful time and appreciated our hosts responsiveness to questions and overall had a wonderful vacation.

Everything was excellent at this hotel. The staff is fantastic, all rooms are clean, and the spa is superb. We came here for our honeymoon, and we loved it. Great location, 10 min walk to the nearest beach and 5 min walk to the central city hub.
We had a wonderful stay at the AlvorMar. The hotel is in a central location close to all amenities with a short walk to the beach. The apartment was superb - very clean and equipped with all we required. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Spotless, modern apartment, very close to Alvor's restaurant/shopping/nightlife scene, and yet very quiet and peaceful. Centrally located with regards to beaches and nearby towns. We can't say enough about how helpful Jim (the owner) was.
The staff was really helpful and friendly and the facilities were clean and great. They had outdoors activities in the afternoon as well as live music at night. Overall, the hotel had a great ambience and it was a peaceful and calm stay.
