An extremely charming ‘local Portuguese’ town with many excellent restaurants on the Tagus river estuary across the vasco de gama bridge from Lisbon. an easy jaunt by car or by the ferry at Montijo. This is a lovely relaxing village, not a place for nightlife and excitement; for that you have to go to lisbon. With that said, the bartenders at Pelourinho make a great Manhattan!
Large room and balcony with views of river and Lisbon. Comfortable beds and pillows. Large TV but volume set a little low for my husbands hearing. Fridge, coffee machine, kettle and safe in the room. Hot water with good pressure in shower. Easy parking in front of hotel. Excellent choice at breakfast and service. Vending machine in reception for snacks, hot drinks and cold drinks.
We loved how clean the room was upon check in and the pool was absolutely beautiful. The cost to get to downtown Lisbon isn’t too bad so this hotel became a retreat for us after a long day in the city. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. If I come back to Portugal, I will be coming back to Upon Avila. We enjoyed our time here very much, thank you!
Beautiful Quinta with comfortable rooms, good location across the corner of the park from the waterfront. Alcochete is a pretty small town with a great view of Lisbon across the water. Deluxe room is spacious with a seating area at the end of the bed and lovely window seats overlooking a garden. This is my go-to accommodation when I need to be near Lisbon.
The place was super cute. Close to amazing restaurants and convenience stores. You need a car for sure but within minutes you’re in Montijo which has the Alegro forum and minutes to the outlet mall in Alcochete. Driving distance to 4-5 major supermarkets. And the Hosts were wonderful and attentive.

Everything was clean, comfortable and well organised. Lovely location in the old town of Alcochete with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. I was lucky enough to find free on street parking very close by. A lovely alternative to airport hotels for an early flight. Less than 30 minutes by car to the airport.
The entire staff at Praia do Sal was so amazing, kind and caring. Room was perfect, clean and so convenient, with great balcony.
Breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant menu also pretty cheap for the quality!
I also booked a massage within the hotel spa, and the masseuse was great as well.
Bruno"s place is perfect if you need to stay in Alcochete. It is located in the centre, a lot of restaurants nearby and the seaside is just behind the corner. The house had everything we needed for us and our 10 months little one. We will use it again when back in alcochete.
The cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere were impressive. The room was incredibly spacious with lovely lighting, and the comfortable mattresses ensured a great night's sleep. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.
This was a perfect start to our trip to Portugal. Not too far from the airport but a world away, and what a fantastic location! Property is beautiful including the beautiful gardens. Loved our room and being across from the water with a great walking path.
