Cindy was a welcoming host and was interesting to talk to. She speaks english fluently which was a relief. The apartment had a deck side-facing the beach so was a pleasant place to sit and birdwatch while my partner slept in. The beach was wild and wonderful and had very few people on it. It is adjacent to a wildlife refuge that we probably could have walked to on the beach if we had realized its proximity. The refuge was a short drive, free and a good place to walk and bird watch. There is a kayak company that takes folks out within the refuge that we would like to do next time. There were a few restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store with limited produce. We found the people of the town were friendly given our lack of spanish skills and the fact that this town is not on the tourist loop. We found that most everyone spoke spanish so we did our best. The town itself appears to have had a hard time with the hurricane 7 years ago with quite a few abandoned homes. Even so, we are thinking of returning now that we are familiar with the area and know what to do.

The location was great. It was at the foot of the mountain which gave us great views. The property has many precious animals including goats, chickens, ducks, peakcock, many of which had babies at the time. It was fun to watch them while we sat on our private balcony. The owners made breakfast for us each morning which looked and tasted amazing. Owners were also very helpful in giving recommendations for places to visit or eat in the area. The location was also a very short drive to the malecón de naguabo which had little stores and lots of restaurants along the water. Also about a 30 minute drive to fajardo where you can schedule a night kayaking trip to see one of the bioluminiscent bays. Also within driving distance to el yunque trails.

The location. The hotel is riddled with mold and mildew.
The house itself is nice inside and out. It was clean and Quiet. The beach was a big let down. I have been to Puerto Rico many times and I know how the beach can be certain times of the year. The property owners aren't responsible for the upkeep of the trash, grass and run down buildings at the beach. The hot water still wasn't working when we left but is fixable and the neighbors are very nice. If you just need a nice place to rest your head this is a great place. You do have to pay an extra $20 a head per night for any family or friends wanting to spend the night also. Walmart is just a few miles away,
