Traveling in September definitely has an advantage that there are less tourist in the area making the Zakopane town its self a pleasure to wander through the not packed tourist streets.
Plus traveling in September allowed to avoid waiting in lines to take the cable car to the top of the mountain and or experience other attractions in the area.
Also September’s temperature was cooler so made hiking. A bit more relaxing.
However September is one of the rainier year months making it a good practice to always carry an umbrella.
Also, the rainy weather conditions also created a bit of a mist which limited some of the surrounding views, but on the other hand, offered some unique photographs with clouds beneath you from the mountain

It's the best base for exploring the Tatra mountains, the food was delicious and the accommodation really nice. On the downside we visited in July when the town in extremely full, like all of Poland had come there. There were crowds of people, huge traffic jams, no parking spots.

Weekend was super crowded. we went up the cable car and the upper area was also super crowded. Was impossible to find space in restaurants and is very hard to make reservations.
Weekdays were less crowded.
There is not much to do besides going up and down the main street or back in forth in the upper part of the cable.

Please re-consider going to Morskie Oki. Great destination, but horrible walk, especially for families. Basically the walk is 8 km along an asphalted road (and the same way back), which is not very saturated with great sceneries. There are too many people walking along during seasonality, the walk is all the time interrupted by horse carriages.

If you like nature /scenery be sure to take the cable car ride. A bit pricy but well worth the experience. Visiting the market close to the funicular is a great place to find authentic local souvenirs like wood crafts, sheepskins, and local farm cheeses, etc. Additional tip: If possible ride the train all the way in to Zakopane. During the daylight hours the scenic ride is amazing!

Zakopane is an affordable alternative to places like Whistler, BC with high-quality lodging, food, and services. The nature is breath-taking and endless. The air is fresh. The best water you'll find anywhere in the world, where even a shower will leave your hair feeling new again.
If you're coming to Zakopane, bring a car because it's impossible to get a taxi or Uber. Book lodging and activities early because the good units and services fill-up quickly.
For food, avoid the Centrum as it is packed with tourists and the wait is very long. Focus on the restaurants at exterior streets around Centrum where you'll find easier parking and less competition for tables. Just sort Restaurants by "Open now" and "Highest rated" to find options on Google Maps.
If you come to Zakopane, you MUST bring hiking shoes and a wind-breaker, because you cannot come here and NOT hike. The views are incredible, and if you cannot do a hike, you should at least ride the cable car to the top of the mountain, where you will definitely need a wind-breaker to stay warm while your mind is blown.
Again, book ahead and come for AT LEAST 3 nights! You will regret having a short stay.

but the the younger ladies from house keeping and breakfast were very rude also the breakfast was terrible cheapest products used, not fresh, honestly the worst breakfast I’ve ever had in Poland wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody and will never come back. Stay away from this place.

Very spacious accommodation (enough for family of 6 or even up to 8). Two bathrooms, sauna (great to relax after skiing or hiking). Well equipped kitchen (including Dolce gusto coffee machine).
Was good. 10/10. Would willa na potoku again. No cap. If you plan to hike High Tatras, this is THE stop. Super fast to trails, great views from the windows. All is super duper wonderful. Thank you Poland, thank you Zakopane, thank you hosts. Polska gurom!
