Location is probably the only thing that we truly liked. Every thing else was ok at best.

I enjoyed the beautiful views from the viewing towers on the nearby hills (Chelmiec, Borowa, Wzgorze Gedymina). But hiking in this area is not easy. The hills are not very high, but the paths are often very steep and difficult to climb.
Restaurants offer a good choice of craft beers. These are generally very good, on contrary to the standard beer production. I can recommend Coolturalna Moontownia (in the old mine area), Zlota Stacja (in the city center) and Jedlinka brewery.
At the beginning, I struggled figuring out how to pay for the city transport. In theory, you can buy tickets at the driver but on one occasion the driver was very rude at me when I did not have the exact change. The best possibility is to pay with card. It is easy but first you have to find a special small round black and yellow device, located usually at the middle door. The orange devices around the bus just stamp the paper tickets.
The old mine area is fancy and do not forget to visit it if you like industrial sights.

Excellent Castle, very interesting underground tour, good breakfast, good view of castle from our window. We walked to the Hotel through the forest from the bus stop which was lovely, However we got the no 8 bus at the gate directly back to the train station at Walbrzych. Should have got train from Wroclow to Walbrzych not Swiebodzice where we had to get the No 1 bus then walk through the gate and forest to the hotel.

the old town in Wałbrzych is very small and we thought we would be bored. However, there are very interesting things to see a little way away, Zamek Książ, the Palmiarnia and Stara Kopalnia, all easily accessible by bus. We also visited Jelenia Góra which has a bigger old town and is touristy, easy to access by train. We picked Wałbrzych as access to Jelenia Góra and Kłodsko are so easy. We ate at Pasaż which has Polish food. We also ate at Frettza Pizza and the sushi place, both good. I ate at Bar Pierożek, a milk bar near Pan Tadeusz, which was ace - but I always go on my own :)

Beautiful city, covering a few valleys and stretching rather far. It was a real jewel once. There are signs of decay which happened after WWII unfortunately. These may add to an overall romantic and mystic vibes of this place. The mountains are well worth a few days of hiking. But also the explorations of the hidden corners of the old city. The castle (the largest one amongst many others located here) is famous but way overcrowded: couldn't get to it. But I'm definitely going to revisit this charming place.
This hotel was an absolute dream. So close to the castle and just beautiful. It felt like you were staying in a fairytale cottage. Room was spacious, very clean and had a beautiful view. The hotel also had a restaurant downstairs which served delicious food. Staff was all very kind, friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast buffet was five stars, absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend people visiting Zamek Ksiaz or even just Poland stay here.
The apartment, especially the kitchen, was very well equipped, tea and coffee were provided as well. The location was very central with the city center, supermarkets, playgrounds and parking spaces all within walking distance. The hosts have left for us some tips about what to see and where to eat and drink in Wałbrzych, which was a nice touch.
Great view from top floor. Nice apartament, done up recently. Apartament is situated in a highrise block from the late 1960s, this must be taken into account. Close to the spectacular Ksiaz Castle, city centre and other attractions. I recommend renting a car.
Fantastic hotel in a fabulous location. Good restaurant. Spacious room with somewhat unusual interior. Pleasant and helpful staff. The price of accommodation is very reasonable, considering that you are sleeping almost next to the castle walls.
Wonderful location. Friendly, correct stuff. Breakfast was very rich. Very nice small restaurants close to the hotel. Visiting of the castle and the tunnel was very intresting. Walk in the nearby forest was also very nice
Great place to stay near Ksiaz ! amazing location , very cozy and clean rooms , welcoming and helpful host! breakfast was delicious , so I highly recommend you to order that before your stay
I love the little cosy room , just the essentials staff for me to have a rest . Clean and fresh. The hotel had also a restaurant with delusions food and fantastic friendly floor staff .
Appartment was ready within minutes after booking it. Host was very friendly and helpful. Well designed rooms. Public parking available. Some breakfast choices few buildings away.

The location is amazing, next to the Castle and surrounding gardens. The hotel is fine, comfortable but nothing spectacular. The area is really the gem.
