Our guests Osi & Michael were welcoming, picked up us at the Ferry and transported our family of 4 with luggage to the hotel. Gave us excellent recommendations about where to eat, rent an 4x4 to explore the island. They went above and beyond to checked us in ahead of time and worked extremely hard to give us extra time to check out! Room was clean and comfortable. Wow, they were so attentive. Room had a small kitchenette with everything. I left my hat and wallet with money overnight at the pool and it was found my Michael and Osi and they returned it to me. Not a single dollar was missing. Honest people. Congratulations to this place for having such an amazing team. I cannot thank them enough.

The Hotel Gerald is a lovely local B&B with comfortable beds, clean rooms and incredibly helpful staff. The attached restaurant makes it really convenient for lunch and dinner, in addition to the included breakfast. Rooms have electronic key locks. Hotel Gerald is located within easy walking distance of two lovely beaches. Staff was waiting to pick us up at the ferry and also dropped us off when we departed. There is a collection of snorkeling equipment to borrow! We really enjoyed our stay and will book again with Hotel Gerald on our next visit to Contadora.

It’s a nice house. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice terrace in the back part of the house. We got lemon from a tree in the patio. The owner was very kind and pay us the transportation to the port. Good value compared to other places in Contadora. I can recommend it and might stay here next time.

Beautiful island . Perfect for family time and relaxing. Gorgeous, pristine beaches with soft sand and warm water. We mostly ate at our hotel but the food at Pimienta y Sal was really good too. Pimienta y Sal is right on Playa Larga which was my favorite beach of the three we visited. You can rent a golf cart at your hotel to get around the island, which is also very walkable too. Going to contadora next time, I would take one of the small planes that come in daily several times a day, especially if you’re pressed for time to get back to Panama City. The ferri ride is ok but I takes 2 hours each direction. The plane ride is only $20 more and it’s a lot faster. I would have really liked to have had the time to stay a couple days longer. We had a wonderful time!!!

Contadora Island made an easy get away from Panama City over a weekend during a two week work trip. The ferry to the island was affordable, easy and we even saw humpback whales and dolphins on the way. The beaches I visited on Contadora were clean with beautiful warm water. If I return to Panama City for work again, I am likely to book a trip to Contadora Island again.

Ferry ride from Panama City was easy, comfortable and safe. Island is also very safe, with friendly people and beautiful beaches. Renting a golf cart was the right thing to do as it allowed us to explore everything. The tap/shower water smells a bit funky, and there are not a lot of restaurants/food choices, but otherwise great for a few days for our family of three - we came for the gorgeous beaches! The town is very quiet, this is not a party place.

Contadora Island is beautiful and very safe. The whitish, sandy beaches, and transparent to turquoise water are splendid. The disadvantages are the relatively high ratio of the cost of hotels relative to facilities. Food is very expensive. Restaurants charge European type food prices. In most of the US you would pay less for the meals served on Contadora. Fresh fruit is relatively hard to get on Contadora. If we return to Contadora we will bring fresh fruit and other food from Panama City.

The onsite dining facility (stunning view of the beach and nearby islands) and good food) and complementary breakfast were fabulous. Pleased to have an early morning gratus coffee before breakfast was being served. We ate at a couple nearby restaurants a few blocks away....easy walking distance.
Casa Tortuga (Italian) is a dining experience not to be passed up!
We walked everywhere but golf cart rentals looked like fun too.
White sand beach was perfect 'front yard.'

The Island is a beautiful paradise.
The Island is a beautiful paradise. Full of wildlife in land and sea. Great place to go inshore and offshore fishing, diving, snorkeling and whale watching. Its a fairly small island with main roads in good conditions which makes moving around fairly easy. Given the chance to rent a golf cart, do it. (Its worth it if you plan to visit all the beaches because "taxi" service could cost between $5-$10 per trip which is ridiculous considering the size of the island). There are 3 supermarkets in the island, although the goods are expensive. Most restaurants are expensive too. Expect to pay city prices or more in some restaurants. I would recommend to visit playa la ejecutiva and playa sueca. The best restaurant quality/price is pimienta y sal (for seafood, ceviche and fried fish).
Thomas, Harry and Charlie run a superb place here. The B and B is stunning. Superb seating areas in the back garden where breakfast is served. Resident dear and other animals in the garden. We even saw a sloth! Breakfast was presented nicely and was amazing! Rooms are clean and comfortable, bed was great as well. We were a group of 5 that visited. They really went out their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay and even picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry. 2nd time here, highly recommend.

However, the surrounding of the hotel is not finished, it looks more or less like a desert area (the trees are dead and there is no green area)

If you want to go to Contadora for the beautiful beaches and to have a quiet moment, it is the place for you! However, be informed that the island itself is a bit unkept and that there is not much activities to do on the island itself
Breakfast was amazing - eggs whichever way you like freshly made every morning, juice, toasts and fresh fruits. I have stayed 5 times at this place before and Gerald himself has always picked up guests arriving by ferry. The restaurant/bar run by the same owner is also very good, totally recommend staying here.
On a separate note, some of the nicest beaches on the island are less than 5-10 minutes walking from the hotel.
Paul and Pilar made the visit truly special and we really felt at home at Casa del Sol. They both go out of their way to ensure guests have a good stay and really enjoy their time on the island. The little bnb is tucked away on the west side of the island but is in easy access to the beautiful beaches away from the business and noise of the airstrip and landing dock.
Great place to stay on the island. The room is spacious and there is an AC which makes the stay very comfortable. We walked to the beaches and the restaurant and it doesn't take much more than 15-20 minutes. Tony was amazing, giving us a tour and plenty of tips to help us during our stay. Would definitely go back if I we were going back to the Pearl islands
The hotel is very cozy and comfortable, Gabriela picked me up from the ferry and returned back. There is kitchen in the hotel and areas to rest. Air conditioner , refrigerator, wi-fi, towels are in the room. You can use bottle of water in refrigerator by 1 dollar. Hot water and liquid soap are also in the bathroom.

Staff was very communicative and kind. We were anchored out and wanted to stay on land for a night and stayed longer because it was so pleasant. Pool and view was lovely with provate access to the beach and airstrip nearby for last minute flight bacj to panama city.

The location is magnificent with beautiful views. The food is fresh and healthy beyond our expectations and the staff is gracious and so helpful. We highly recommend and escape to Mar Y Oro. We will be back again early next year for sure.

The hotel is great. Really nice beach, very friendly staff and the food at the restaurant is delicious. Look for boat tours with Marino, he is an expert fisherman and knows exactly where to find the whales.
The room was clean and very comfortable, the breakfast delicious. The restaurant lady (Karla) is very friendly and made us feel welcome.
Playa Galeon is very close to the hotel, probably a 4 minute walk ;)
Daniel was very nice, he did everything that make us feel comfortable. The location of the Hotel is very good, you can walk to several beaches in a few minutes.
The view was amazing, also Helbert was available to run us around the island in the golf buggy which was so helpful. I would totally recommend this place.
