This guest house is in Telemark County, in the town of Rjukan. It offers a TV room and fireplace lounge. Rjukan Station is 1640 feet away.

Quiet, clean, and we had the whole building almost entirely to ourselves (it was off season). Good facilities, and well priced for a hostel in Norway

Sentral tomannsbolig ved park, Rjukan, hotel in Rjukan

Featuring a garden, Sentral tomannsbolig ved park, Rjukan provides accommodations in Rjukan. The apartment is 7.9 miles from Gaustatoppen.

There were lots of cooking utensils in the kitchen.. the house was adequately clean, but not sparkling clean. Sheets and covers were old and needed to be replaced. Some of the windows up stairs and on the main floor could not be opened.. and surprisingly there was no second fire escape …just the front door.

Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history.

Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history. However the reason we come is to ice climb. Obviously, this is a niche attraction and Ice climbers will know why Rjukan. However, the history and beauty plus accessibility of venues is world class for this activity. Beyond the climbing, Rjukan is an interesting town with all the main amenities one could need as a base for exploring the amazing countryside in which it sits.

A beautiful place to visit and have a look around.

A beautiful place to visit and have a look around. A few nice places you could eat, I tried the little restaurant next to where I stayed at Hytteby. The town is easy to get around as there is mostly one street that goes all the way through. The fact that Norways oldest cablecart (krossbannen) was there was really nice and I did take a trip up and the view was amazing.

Rjukan is a small town in a deep valley, with the most beautiful waterfalls on both sides. In the winter the steep sides make that there is never sun, which is why they placed mirror to reflect sunlight onto the village square. The mountains surrounding the village are the biggest highlight of the town, the Hardanger Vidda highlands on the north side, where there is a cable car going up and the Gaustatoppen on the south side, the highest mountain of southern Norway, where also a cable car inside the mountain can take you up, or go for a beautiful hike! In the town, the museum in the old hydro-electricity plant is definitely worth a visit, also because it was the location of a major sabotage action from the Norwegian resistance in WW2, to destroy the German manufacture of enriched hydrogen.

Beautiful location and well equipped chalet. The interior is very cosy and stylish and even with some terrible weather, we still found it a lovely place to relax. Very handy to have the EV charging point to use at the accommodation. Would definitely recommend trying the floating Sauna at the Gaustablikk hotel as well as their pizza restaurant Stova and the bakery. Couldn't have asked for a more peaceful place to recuperate after Norseman!

It’s like a little village of beautiful spacious holiday houses. The architecture is inspired by the old worker homes of Rjukan. There’s a restaurant on site. Location is nice, on the edge of the village at the river. Nice to stroll through historic Rjukan. Lots and lots do to and see in the vicinity. Lots of space. Tv with Netflix. Good kitchen. Outdoor seating with lots of sun. Good bed.
