After the meal in our hotel we did an evening walk to the museum and through the forests, the neighbourhood is a nice quite place. In the direct neighbourhood the prison and hospital are dominant present.

Very interesting history as it was a working camp for Holland. A lot of people lost there life there and had to work hard as they were the poor people in Holland.
They changed it peter on into a prison and the museum is fantastic. The cafe/ restaurant is brilliant with really good food by there chefs there. We had dinner there early most evenings as our restaurant was to up market and fancy and we just wanted simple good food and we had it in this museum restaurant. I can recommend the fresh salad with salmon slices , capers and a brilliant dressing .
On an island of tranquility with an interesting historical background, this hotel, transformed from an old hospital is a delight to stay at. During the transformation the aspect of the hospital was kept, when appropriate, giving a charm to the buildings. My room was large and comfy, accessible through and right next to the restaurant, yet not noisy. The restaurant itself is a gastronomic experience I can only recommend to take. The breakfast is based on high quality products, tasty and fresh. All in all a very pleasant (a bit too short) stay.

All is there what you need. Kitchen fully equipped, comfy living room. Nice bath and excellent bed.
Location is also very calm.
