We loved the large room with the sitting area, since we were here for a week. We loved looking out our three front-facing windows onto the little street below, the canal, the bridge over the canal and a small park on the other side of the canal.
The bed was very comfortable, and they staff was friendly and helpful.

The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy...
The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy wherever you go. In June it gets dark at about 10.30pm, so you have plenty of time to visit and see places all over the town. To my experience, I think that 3 days (or 2 and a half days) are enough to visit the most important places and enjoy life in Leiden.

Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only...
Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty museums to visit and the oldest university in the Netherlands, Botanical gardens and Rembrandt's home and studio. Canal cruises and cycle hire to explore the outer part of the city. Plenty places to eat. We tended to eat at the restaurant near the hotel. Ideal location to visit both Delft and the Hague from. Would hope to return again. I travelled with 18 members of my family and stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel. Everyone thought Leiden was an excellent location to visit Keukenhof, Delft and the Hague from.

Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands...
Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands. Much more pleasant than staying in Amsterdam and only a short 20 minute train ride directly to Schiphol Airport. Could not be more convenient and relaxing.

Leiden is a great place to stay.
Leiden is a great place to stay. It’s like staying in a mini Amsterdam without as many people. Lovely canals to walk around and lots of small individual places to eat. Very peaceful to stroll around with a lovely market held on Saturday and Wednesdays. We took one of the walking tours around the town which you can buy at the local tourist information office. Also enjoyed going up the Windmill, but be prepared for a steep climb down. Well worth a visit!

Lovely city to walk in.
Lovely city to walk in.
All the people we met and staff in bars and hotel were helpful and friendly.
Sadly only had time for one visit - to Hortus Botanicus- which was well worth the time.
Would plan to visit again.
We wish we had been able to stay for longer! We had a lovely spacious room, which was clean and well decorated/ furnished, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee, and a nice bathroom. The staff were friendly. The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the historic part of the city - a great base to explore from, and very convenient to walk to the train station (less than 10min). Lots of places to eat nearby and a few supermarkets within walking distance too. We loved Leiden and would love to come back (and stay here again!)
stayed here when our flight was delayed 48 hours and couldn’t believe our luck. absolutely loved this charming and authentic boutique hotel. we stayed in room 41 in the garret which had exposed beams and an amazing view. simple facilities in the bathroom but very clean. staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful. lobby and bar is wonderful. check out the Goeie Mie gin company on the ground floor — amazing story, delicious drinks!!
Overall, It was good. We have chosen Ibis, because we thought that It is very close to Amsterdam. Indeed, It is. However, the train ticket prices were a bit higher than our expectations. So, the price of hotel, comfort, and location was good but although the location was good, we paid too much money for travelling to Amsterdam from Leiden. So, keep it in your mind when you choose Ibis to travel from Leiden to Amsterdam.
The location was perfect. It was close to everything in the center of town. It is a way from Leiden Centraal, so we took a taxi to the hotel (about 20 Euros). It is close to the Saturday and Wednesday markets, a good grocery store, and to some nice restaurants on the canals. They have bikes to rent there, and they functioned well. The staff was nice in making suggestions and assisting with things we needed.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was easy and secure parking on site which we liked.
Breakfast was of a high standard with a good selection of foods to choose from.
The Hotel was close to the centre of Leiden and also the station. We recommend that if you wish to travel to Amsterdam you use the train as it is an easier option than driving and having to park.
The location along the canal was great, I always wanted to wake up looking at a canal and I finally got to do that here!
Its also not hard to reach from the Leiden Centraal station, about a 10 minute walk.
I was only there for three nights but during that time I did not experience any issues, overall it was a great experience.
The room was very nice, with comfortable furniture (especially the leather sofa across from TV) and great view. Complimentary teas and coffee of course are always a nice addition. Hotel is located very close to train station and within walking distance from city center, surrounded by big roads however sound isolation is impeccable.
Monica, our host, was very prompt to answer messages and seems very organized. Very kind to let us into unit earlier than the usual check-in time.
Spacious bedroom, living room/ dining area.
Nice residential neighborhood, about 8 minutes walk from Leiden train station and easy to walk into town.
The location was very nice. The room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel was quiet and serene. They checked in before the stated check-in time (15.00), and it was very nice to be able to get into my room as soon as I arrived (around 14.00 - 14.30) on a stormy Leiden day.
We chose to stay in Leiden as it's a central point for days out to Delft, Haarlem, Utrecht and Amsterdam. The Hotel Mayflower seemed a good option due to its price and closeness to the railway station. Both the hotel and Leiden exceeded our expectations.
Excellent location for exploring Leiden. Very clean and comfortable room. Appreciated small refrigerator for wines, and coffee-making facilities. The availability of breakfast at the hotel is a "plus", very handy on days with a busy travel agenda.
The location was good an very close to Leiden. Being next to the train station, traveling to Amsterdam and The Hage was very easy. I loved the cafés in Leiden"s city centre and was positively impressed by the museums.
Fabulous old house that has been transformed into a boutique hotel, in the heart of Leiden.
Room was huge, and the bed was very comfy.
Having a great (free for guests) gym next was awesome too.
The location and the staff. The location was right between the train/bus station and centrum making both within east walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It’s very close to train, bus station and city center. You can separate the beds, useful if you ar traveling with family and friends, one other hotel didn’t have the option
