The ski route is very limited. One of the ski lifts is always out of order. Only 2-3 restaurants with an average menu are very expensive. Less snow and the scenery is surrounded by construction sites. Look for better destinations than Kolasin.

This is our third or fourth visit to Kolašin, a very pleasant little city with a nice hometown feel. It is very walkable - the pedestrian street is always alive with people strolling or sitting in cafes. Several really nice restaurants featuring lots of local specialties. Restaurant Vodenica, right next to a rushing stream, is a particular gem. They also have live music in evenings during tourist season. Kolašin is the perfect spot for visiting Biograsko Jezero - lake and national park - which is a must. Morača Monastery is also not far away, and there are also numerous local hikes one can do. The tourist information office is quite helpful.
(I should note that we've only ever been here in the summertime so I can't comment on the winter sports scene.)

This place is difficult if you don't have a car as buses are few & far between. On weekends they almost don't exist. There are some wonderful hiking destinations, such as Mrtvica Canyon 30 kms away, but so difficult to get there & back, plus the area is very badly signposted. Kolasin is nice but we cannot say it is 'user-friendly'.

We enjoyed the mountain air and the small-town feeling Kolasin had to offer. The food was good; the prices inexpensive. Obviously one does not travel to Kolasin just to see the town: there’s not much there to see. The town is replete with dilapidated houses, cheap Chinese toy shops, and dirty, stray dogs. But nonetheless, it had a certain charm.
Skiing was our reason to visit. The mountain, which is just 15 minutes up the road was perfect for a young family. The lift tickets are very cheap (comparatively to anywhere else in the US or Europe), and, as long as there is snow, one is sure to have a good time. We figured, with young kids, regardless of where we skied, we would have spent most of the time on beginner hills anyway, so why not visit a smaller ski resort and skip the crowds and prices. The ski lodge was cozy. And since most skiers on the mountain were also guests in the town, it added to the small-town, family feel.
I had a fantastic stay at Winter Star in Kolašin. The apartment was impeccably clean and wonderfully warm, creating a cozy atmosphere during my visit. The attention to cleanliness really stood out, making me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my stay. The location was convenient, and the apartment's amenities added to the overall positive experience. If you're looking for a place that offers both comfort and cleanliness, I highly recommend Winter Star.
Hotel is as described in the pictures.Rooms are clean and neat and very comfortable to sleep in.The host was very sociable and kind also he was always available and gave us a couple of tips on where to go and what to do.
The difference in price-quality ratio compared to other hotels in Kolašin is huge so I would certainly recomeneed staying here because it will be a loving experience.
The house is equipped with everything you need for a good time in Kolasin (TV, Internet, washer etc.). I was there as a single, but even a family with 2 kids will enjoy the place. The neighbor is in charge to check if any facility (such as heating) is working properly. The house is located in that part of kolas where you are closest to the Kolasin Ski Resort. Just perfect.
The Kolasin chalet will undoubtedly remain one of our best hotel memories, and not only in Montenegro! Everything was great! An exceptionally kind welcome, a very cosy and tastefully decorated room and the cherry on the cake: a magnificent spa that you can privatize for an hour! Everything is done to make us feel comfortable and relaxed! Thank you for all this!
What we liked the most about the Sanja rooms while staying in Kolasin for skiing in January was the WARM and CLEAN room. Sanjas daughter was very friendly and we did comunicate easily in English. If any difficulty to find the location, you can refere to the bus station which is near the Sanja Rooms. We would highly recommend it for your vacation in Kolasin.
Modern and new hotel with spacious apartments with contemporary design. Equipped kitchen, decent bathroom, nice furniture, large smart tv’s. The restaurant serves good, local food at low prices. The fact that the place is popular with the locals speaks for its quality. The level of English of the staff is adequate for simple conversations.
Beautiful location! Very scenic all around and still only a short drive from Kolašin, also only a short drive from the ski resorts for anyone there for the winter season. It's an attractive and characterful property made of timber with lots of space outside and the owner is very friendly. The price paid represented excellent value.

Super polite staff! It's a nice Spa hotel placed in a quiet area of Kolasin. The room was nice. We used Spa at 15 euros per person and it was a great idea to do :) Breakfast included is completely ok!
