The Insight resort was a great location to spend 5 days in Ahangama, the location is great with the hotel actially being beach front with a nice beach, great pool. The staff were very friendly and soo helpful, they looked after our little toddler like he was their own, giving him such a great time, and us a bit of a break. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Wifi was a bit poor, but an easy fix if they get a fiber connection.

Ahangama by far is one of the best spots in down south srilanka, the kabalana beach was the best beach ive been too. Renting a scooter is perfect since u can travel to weligama, mirrisa etc and all the nearby towns to enjoy ur stay. The locals are extremely helpful & for renting scooters the perfect place and perfect service is SCOOTY RENTAL AND TAXI SERVICE - AHANGAMA, on google maps, they are very kind and affordable prices. Also shoutout to ODARA FOODS & THAI CHARM for very good food and affordable prices and great service. One last thing to check is the season and temperature when you vist, we visted it during may which was comparatively hot compared to other months so keep this in mind and always wear lots of sunscreen!!!. Please be careful when swimming in the beach in private areas where there is no people always double check with locals if it is safe to swim in wherever you're swimming since during high tide the sea is VERY ROUGH and DANGEROUS.

We would high recommend the company “BOAT SAFARI IN KOGGALA” as a fab & knowledgeable company to do a boat trip around Koggala lake. They were so knowledgeable about plants, wildlife and the islands. A fascinating 2 hrs. We would definitely recommend. They can organise tuk tuks to get you there and back also.

Ahangama town has changed from a very busy fishing village to a hotspot in the south of Sri Lanka. And that at a rapid pace. There are many new and good restaurants, parties on the beach or in rooftop bars. The quiet time is over. For travellers seeking peace and quiet, the inland of Ahangama is more suitable. But here, too, there is a tendency towards more posh hotels with DJs in the evening and overpriced food and coffee - unfortunately.

Ahangama is a totally calm and peaceful and crowed less seashore metropolis with majestic palm trees all round it. there is no sound apart from the waves hitting the shore and swaying of the timber making it ideal for a chilled holiday.
A small city in Southern Province, Ahangama is a mystery treasure in Sri Lanka. recognized for its pristine beaches, glowing waters, and picturesque landscapes, this town is indeed one of the maximum beautiful ones in the united states. although it isn't completely developed, it's far effortlessly available thru Galle, a first-rate metropolis that lies only 20 minutes from Ahangama. This metropolis, being the epitome of serenity, is certainly one of the right getaways within the country.
Ahangama overlooks the cultured Weligama Bay, that is a occurring place within the town. The famous tuk-tuk takes passengers from the primary city to the Bay. Weligama is the significant surfing spot, browsing being one of the predominant points of interest of Ahangama. apart from browsing, Wellingama offers beachside stores, restaurants, shacks, and bars.

Ahangama was epic!
Ahangama was epic! We stayed at a spot called Tharanga surf villa. Seriously great location on a great beach that has waves for all skill levels of surfers. You can hire a board or get a lesson through the hotel even if you like. The breakfasts are incredible and give you a taste of local cuisine. The room is comfortable and all you need - the aircon is a big plus! When the power goes out in the area they have a generator so that’s cool. The people who own and run it are so friendly and helpful. Try hire a scooter to get around to all the different beaches if you’re staying for a while. There are loads of places to eat - try the local places they’re cheaper and their food is super tasty! We ate at a variety of local places and got Kotu and curry. Don’t go to the western owned places and pay triple the price! Try a little spot on the beach just past Open Heart cafe (which also has a great view at sunset) I don’t know the name unfortunately.
Our stay the flora ahangama was 10/10 recommended. We stayed here for two nights. we were able to see a lot of great things, explore the area and end up falling in love with it. Fortunately, we were the first guests there. The owners treated us like members of their own family. Everything was great. The small kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances, including a gascooker and all appliances, including a washing machine.
we loved staying there. if you want to visit ahangama you should definitely stay at the flora ahangama.
We came on family surfing holiday- 1st time to Sri lanka. Stayed at Insight resort for 5 nights. We just loved our stay at this Hotel. Has perfect Location on the beach. sea view. staff was super friendly and helpful! All attractions close by and close to best surf locations with only a tuk tuk ride away! For kids surfing this beach was not possible due to rocks - but close to Weligama with perfect waves for kids and Adults. This hotel was perfect to come back to and relax after busy day.

Cute family run place, beautiful jungle around you, quiet, calm and peaceful. Many animals - monkey, squirrel, birds... Super close to nice secluded little beaches. Simple jungle hut with double bed with mosquito net and fan. Power socket close to bed. Temperature good with fan during day and night. Simple outdoor bathroom with shower, toilet, mirror and sink. Nice breakfast (Western or Sri Lankan - you can choose). Owner and his family are so friendly and nice and want to make your stay good! Can also do laundry here :)
Everything about this boutique hotel & retreat is exceptional! It is a luxurious private paradise where you can relax & rejuvenate.
The location is excellent and the rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. The thought and care shown by Janaka (the hotel manager) and his wife go above and beyond & the cuisine is fabulous.

A delicious Sri Lankan breakfast was included to the accommodation price. The host and staff were really supportive and friendly. They are prepared to cook what you want and also have a Menu to select from. Highly encourage to select from the menu so that is clear cut. All meals were prepared carefully and can have BBQ also, which was great. Koggala beach is nearest beach attraction to the premises

He, Wasante and Siri form a perfect team that made us feel welcome like home away from home. That together with the beautiful Villa, nice rooms and the paradise garden makes Stuthi Villa the perfect holiday location in Ahangama!
Room was spacious, clean and great bathroom including toiletries. Bed was extremely comfortable and great to have air con. Kamal the owner was extremely attentive, anything we needed he was there straight away to help. The Sri Lankan breakfast each day was the best we’ve had so far and plenty of it! Super close to the beach. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer!

Breakfast is good, but very few options and limited to one option per guest (which is very rare for 5 star hotel), no Expressso machine in the hotel or in the room - also not common for 5 stars hotel whith high rates as this one).

It is in a fantastic location with all rooms having excellent sea views and great view of the sunset. The garden is great to sunbath with a private beach in front. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast & other meals really good. The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. I will definitely return to this lovely hotel.
Lovely hostel. The owners are so nice. There was no atm close by so the owner drove me on his scooter. This café is lovely too and the chef makes the best kottu I've eating in Sri Lanka! You can eat with a view on the ocean. The beach in front of the house is beautiful and not very crowded. A lot of people staying here are long term guests that surf.

We initially booked the economy room which was a little disappointing, so we upgraded to another room (sea view) - this room we recommend. The location is like 10 min walking from surfpoints. The breakfast was great (best so far in Sri Lanka). A big thank you to the friendly staff serving the breakfast. The pool was nice.
This hotel is more or less brand new! The rooms are huge and modern, one of the best beds we had in Sri Lanka. Really great value for money. The breakfast is huuuge and so tasty. In a perfect location for Kabalena Beach which was beautiful. Only a 15 minute walk to the restaurants. Very clean place and air con was amazing. Really nice bathroom. Delicious and huge breakfasts - we had both the Sri Lankan and western breakfasts and each were yummy, we didn’t go hungry.
They have the best pool table! This hostel is one of the only ones in Sri Lanka with a local owning the place! He’s such a kind soul with a great sense of humour! They do beach cleanups here and fun pool tournaments with the locals! The location is great for surfing! So many breaks nearby!
