Overall the room was clean and good. The standard room had a kettle and even a refrigerator. The bed was pretty comfortable and the room itself was quite large.

The rocky pathway and walking next to the beach was fantastic. There are many monuments to visit and explore, some inside parks. Unfortunately the Museum was not open on Saturday, 23/02/2024. This was very disappointing since that was one of the reasons I travelled out there. I was also surprised that it was closed since the day before was a national holiday and in most countries people usually make a touring weekend out of national holidays. I also was not the only person who arrived at the museum to find it closed.
I would not recommend going to the kinoplex mall unless you're going with people who want to ice skate or buy souvenirs at the entrance of the mall. Only one of the shops I visited did not try to overcharge me for my purchase.
Other than that I would also highly recommend going on a 'safari' to the 'alien landscape' called Byzherek (not sure I spelled that correctly). The tour group was a massive amount of fun and the tour guide tried his best to explain the history to me in English. I also met many fantastic local people who were on the tour. The tour company is "mangystau_safari" on Instagram and you can message them on whatsapp. They reply in English.

he beach season starts at the end of May and lasts through September. In the center of the city, the coast is steep and rocky. It is a favorite location for cliff-jumping enthusiasts.

Aktau is a beautiful city, however because there are so many tourists, the service is extremely poor, from the high-end hotels to high-end restaurants. You will wait, and wait and wait. We often waited two hours for basic food. We waited a long time to check in. Very few people speak English. The service is really poor.

You definitely need to get out and about in Aktau. There are so many beautiful and strange places to visit. The valley of the balls, bozhira, the bay etc.... As An astrophotographer, I've never seen clear night skies quite like it. Best views of the milky way I've ever seen (and i live on a mountain!). Swimming on the beach was lovely, calm and warm without issues. Random camels walking around just complete the experience. We did a few days overlanding and then a few days at the Rixos for some well deserved all-inclusive luxury. Didn't spend much time in "town" we weren't there for that.

Our favorite place in the vicinity of Dostar Hostel are the umbrellas on the ebachfront. The only restaurant that time was CHESTER, just inside the vicinity of Dostar Hostel, we ate there 3 times, the food was good but a little expensive. If you have a taxi app yes it is easy to get around Aktau and if you also know a bit of their language.
My room was very clean and spacious, easily the size of an average apartment in London!
Breakfast and lunch were excellent. There were two main options of set breakfast and a menu if at least 30-40 dishes for lunch. I had a lentils soup and a warm salat with chicken, they were really good and costed only $15 with two drinks. Great value for money for restaurant quality food.
I didn’t have high expectations from an airport hotel but it was actually great. I had some quality sleep and food and left feeling refreshed.
Very clean, optimal and price effective: I felt more comfortable here than in other properties in Aktau that cost more. There is a new building and facilities, an elevator, a bath tube and a safe in the standard room — with all facilities. I also believe they provide the access to pool and gym to their guests free of charge (I haven't used it though).
The breakfast is tasty, the location is quiet, and the staff is super friendly.
They definitely deserve more than 3 stars.
This is a very comfortable and conveniently located hotel. Management accommodated my request for for a very early morning check -in, and the reception person was welcoming and efficient. I also had to depart at an ungodly hour, and the front desk was again very helpful. I found Golden Palace to be well-priced for the high level of comfort and service provided, and I would definitely make it my first choice for another stay in Aktau.
This hostel is very lovely and homely, and well located in aktau - not far to the promenade and next to an ATM and supermarket. The host is lovely and helped us organise taxis and tours! Me and my friend stayed and it was a comfortable stay after the ferry, and we met some interesting and lovely other guests too! Cannot recomend enough
We stayed at this hotel two different nights. This was the first night and we had a nice room, the air conditioning worked, and it was lovely. The second time we stayed it was completely different. The room was noisy and the air conditioning didn't work, even though we were moved to a new room. The breakfast was very good,
This a high end hotel - the lobby area was luxuriously fitted out with a "French" theme. The staff were attentive and the room was large. The hotel faces onto a pedestrian promenade along the shore of the Caspian Sea, ideal for walks/runs. There were a few dining options in the hotel
The host is adorable, she responds very fast on messages and communicates very clearly. The apartment was everything we needed, has a good location with a nice view on the sea. Clean and comfortable! We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Aktau.

Aktau was just a transit for us. The Hotel was kind enough to organise a well priced taxi fom the airport. Check-in at 1am was no problem. The Room could have been cleaner - but was ok.
