Overall the room was clean and good. The standard room had a kettle and even a refrigerator. The bed was pretty comfortable and the room itself was quite large.

The rocky pathway and walking next to the beach was fantastic. There are many monuments to visit and explore, some inside parks. Unfortunately the Museum was not open on Saturday, 23/02/2024. This was very disappointing since that was one of the reasons I travelled out there. I was also surprised that it was closed since the day before was a national holiday and in most countries people usually make a touring weekend out of national holidays. I also was not the only person who arrived at the museum to find it closed.
I would not recommend going to the kinoplex mall unless you're going with people who want to ice skate or buy souvenirs at the entrance of the mall. Only one of the shops I visited did not try to overcharge me for my purchase.
Other than that I would also highly recommend going on a 'safari' to the 'alien landscape' called Byzherek (not sure I spelled that correctly). The tour group was a massive amount of fun and the tour guide tried his best to explain the history to me in English. I also met many fantastic local people who were on the tour. The tour company is "mangystau_safari" on Instagram and you can message them on whatsapp. They reply in English.

Aktau is a beautiful city, however because there are so many tourists, the service is extremely poor, from the high-end hotels to high-end restaurants. You will wait, and wait and wait. We often waited two hours for basic food. We waited a long time to check in. Very few people speak English. The service is really poor.

You definitely need to get out and about in Aktau. There are so many beautiful and strange places to visit. The valley of the balls, bozhira, the bay etc.... As An astrophotographer, I've never seen clear night skies quite like it. Best views of the milky way I've ever seen (and i live on a mountain!). Swimming on the beach was lovely, calm and warm without issues. Random camels walking around just complete the experience. We did a few days overlanding and then a few days at the Rixos for some well deserved all-inclusive luxury. Didn't spend much time in "town" we weren't there for that.

Our favorite place in the vicinity of Dostar Hostel are the umbrellas on the ebachfront. The only restaurant that time was CHESTER, just inside the vicinity of Dostar Hostel, we ate there 3 times, the food was good but a little expensive. If you have a taxi app yes it is easy to get around Aktau and if you also know a bit of their language.
The hostel has a perfect location just next to the seaside and the rocky path, which is one of the most beautiful places in Aktau. The host Karlygash and her husband are very friendly and warm-hearted people and they do everything to make their guests feel comfortable. They can also help you to organize trips around the beautiful Mangystau Region. The hostel is very clean, beds are comfortable and you can cook there. I will definitely stay in Mango hostel again whenever I come to Aktau.
This is a new hotel, with new furniture and all equipment. Clean and big room with AC available and working. Very good service, I had to arrive at midnight, so informed receptionist about late arrival, she waited for me and even cooled my room prior to my arrival (AC was tirbed on in my room for my arrival). Very good price (low) for excellent room and service.
Breakfast is available for 800 tenge.
The hotel is located right across from the airport so it is a convenient 20-second walk. The lobby has some vending machines, a store, and a restaurant which are very welcome after a long flight. The room was clean, and extra water was provided. The staff is very helpful, and breakfast is delicious.

My stay in this hotel was excellent. The staff is very helpful and nice. Room was big enough for 1 person. Very comfy mattress and good breakfast in the morning. Hotel is only 10 mns walking from the Caspian Sea. This place is excellent for a short or long stay
The staff at this hotel is simply outstanding! They are incredibly kind and accommodating. I had to wait for a late evening train and they graciously allowed me to stay in my room until it was time to leave. This level of service is truly amazing!
