Overall the room was clean and good. The standard room had a kettle and even a refrigerator. The bed was pretty comfortable and the room itself was quite large.

The rocky pathway and walking next to the beach was fantastic. There are many monuments to visit and explore, some inside parks. Unfortunately the Museum was not open on Saturday, 23/02/2024. This was very disappointing since that was one of the reasons I travelled out there. I was also surprised that it was closed since the day before was a national holiday and in most countries people usually make a touring weekend out of national holidays. I also was not the only person who arrived at the museum to find it closed.
I would not recommend going to the kinoplex mall unless you're going with people who want to ice skate or buy souvenirs at the entrance of the mall. Only one of the shops I visited did not try to overcharge me for my purchase.
Other than that I would also highly recommend going on a 'safari' to the 'alien landscape' called Byzherek (not sure I spelled that correctly). The tour group was a massive amount of fun and the tour guide tried his best to explain the history to me in English. I also met many fantastic local people who were on the tour. The tour company is "mangystau_safari" on Instagram and you can message them on whatsapp. They reply in English.

Aktau is a beautiful city, however because there are so many tourists, the service is extremely poor, from the high-end hotels to high-end restaurants. You will wait, and wait and wait. We often waited two hours for basic food. We waited a long time to check in. Very few people speak English. The service is really poor.

You definitely need to get out and about in Aktau. There are so many beautiful and strange places to visit. The valley of the balls, bozhira, the bay etc.... As An astrophotographer, I've never seen clear night skies quite like it. Best views of the milky way I've ever seen (and i live on a mountain!). Swimming on the beach was lovely, calm and warm without issues. Random camels walking around just complete the experience. We did a few days overlanding and then a few days at the Rixos for some well deserved all-inclusive luxury. Didn't spend much time in "town" we weren't there for that.

Our favorite place in the vicinity of Dostar Hostel are the umbrellas on the ebachfront. The only restaurant that time was CHESTER, just inside the vicinity of Dostar Hostel, we ate there 3 times, the food was good but a little expensive. If you have a taxi app yes it is easy to get around Aktau and if you also know a bit of their language.
Nice and super comfy hostel close to the Caspian Sea. Dorm room is spaceous and clean and the kitchen well equipped. The owner family tries their best to help you and keep the place clean and tidy. The owner's son speaks a very good English. Well stocked supermarket right next door, which is very convenient. The right place to hang out and relax after a long night of travelling from Tbilisi to Aktau. I was able to check-in at about 9am which was great! You can store your bike inside the hostel. I saw so many negative reviews after I book this hostel. Maybe because of that there was so many empty beds and rooms. I stayed at 4 beds room alone and they gave me the key of the door. It was like a hotel room. Toilet and bathroom was inside. Bathroom a little bit older but everything was working. Even TV on the wall was working. I liked location also. It’s super close to beaches of Aktau.
This a high end hotel - the lobby area was luxuriously fitted out with a "French" theme. The staff were attentive and the room was large. The hotel faces onto a pedestrian promenade along the shore of the Caspian Sea, ideal for walks/runs. There were a few dining options in the hotel
There was a wide variety of choices for breakfast. The food was tasty and the service was professional. The staff of the hotel was very courteous. The water park was very fun! The indoor pool was also well maintained and clean.
Breakfast was nice. Location is indeed great! The design of room and furnitures are nice. The ATM is next to hotel so is the fire memorial which is at a walkable distance from the location. Hot water shower is great.

Very nice and welcoming staff at the reception. We lamded at Aktau Airport at 23.50 and it we only had to walk 3 minutes from the exit to the hotel. Room was comfortable
