Divya and her lovely family especially Minakshi her daughter really gave us true feeling of family homestay, showed us the nearby neighborhood, cooked us the best food we ate in Kerala and helped us in every possible way. We learned a lot on the place and its people.
Thanks so much, Divya and family.

The evening shikara ride was great for our group and was at the right price point - 2000 rupees for 2 hours for 2 families. The bird sanctuary was a big disappointment as there is not much to see and the facilities are also very poor - of the two bird watching towers one is damaged and other does not have a great view. Not many species of birds could be seen or heard, its more of a nature walk than a bird sanctuary.

As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise.
As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise. As the gates shut the noise and hustle bustle of an Indian town were left outside.
The beautiful old buildings in heritage style, lovely garden with trees and the only sound that of birdsong. It didn’t end there. All the staff from Vaisakh the Manager, Amal the Chef, the lady helping in the kitchen and the lady constantly sweeping the floors and working in the garden were helpful, courteous and always had a cheerful smile. The two men were happy to enter into conversations with us when they were not busy. They also responded immediately when asked for anything.
The food was delicious and well cooked but they found it amusing that we couldn’t handle the chillis in some of the dishes.
The pool was clean and cool and very welcoming in the heat.
We spent a very happy and relaxing week at Brookside Heritage Resort and it was the best place to start our Kerala adventure after a long and arduous journey from the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in a property that gave us half-board meals (dinner and breakfast) and had in-house activities such as a sunset boat cruise and an evening cultural show. All this reinforced the kerala theme and made for a wonderful experience.

The backwaters are unique with water lilies and a wide variety of birds that can be viewed in a Shikara at dawn. A houseboat to spend the day and enjoy local cuisine served using fresh fish caught and sold by fisherwomen on the banks is a fabulous experience.

Kumarakom is a lovely back water locality, away from the hustle bustle of the city. Its a relaxing environment where you can disconnect from the busy world outside and yet if you need to get back to it, it's just nearby.
The hosts, Divya and Dileep, are such gracious generous hospitable relaxed hosts. they are always ready to assist with anything—arranging boat trips, car and tuk-tuk rides, and massages at an Ayurvedic place very close by. They just can’t do enough. They serve great Kerala style breakfasts which you eat communally with the other guests who hail from other parts of India, Europe and US. I didn’t realize till my arrival that they also serve dinner. all the foods are exactly what they prepare for themselves.
Divya and Dileep have made a lovely homestay in an idyllic location. The quiet location adds to the tranquility of the stay, with multiple boating facilities on hand to explore the backwaters. Divya made us a fabulous lunch to take on our cruise, which was really delicious and made the experience extra special! We really enjoyed staying at Mango Kerala and with amazing value for money, we’d recommend it to anyone travelling around the state. Thank you!
It was an authentic Indian accommodation with antique furnishings throughout the property and above the museum with historic Keralan pieces. The food was fantastic and the owner and his family couldn't have been better. They were so welcoming and helpful beyond belief. I left my passport in another hotel 4 hours drive away and they sorted a driver to pick it up straight away with no fuss, and no stress. Such lovely people, I can't thank them enough.
We had a really good time and enjoyed every moment..wonderful place immersed in the aesthetic beauty of nature with such kind wonderful staffs . We really enjoyed the stay and food was exceptional. The afternoon snacks and drink are a nice touch 👌
The whole place is very quite and relaxing
Exceptional location deep into the vembanad lake and beautiful spacious property infested with egrets other birds , very cozy large villas with private pool, memorable sunset boat ride along with entry and exit boat rides to property , very responsive and courteous staff .... Will definitely revisit !!
We stayed in the private pool villa, the experience was just magical. It was the best hotel I ever stayed in by far. Trees, birds, butterflies and bats... You will be surrounded by wild exotic birds and palm squirrels singing. Don't miss 7:00AM birdwatching. This is honestly a birders' heaven.
It is a very nice property. Well maintained, green, on the lake but no boat traffic to disturb the peace of the place, just the hotel boat. Nice facility, pottery, bike, fishing. Nice room. Some have a private pool some a big jacuzzi in the room. The massage is fantastic- a must to try.
- flexible with unplanned late check-in
- host very kind, excellent conversation
- delicious Keralan breakfast
- bird watching possible just by footwalk (Sanctuary visit not needed)
- lovely building
- helped to book a very good houseboat
The Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch was highly commendable ! Good food and the staff very friendly. The Hotel rooms were very clean and well furnished. The staff all round always willing to help with a smile. Well done and keep it up!
The only pleasant thing about this hotel was the pool. However it was not maintained. Tiles chipping off and in desperate need of freshening up. Bridge over the pool old and scruffy. The spa team were lovely.
Beautiful room with private plunge pool and view of the lake. Huge bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower. A bathtub and his and hers sinks too! Very sweet staff and lovey hotel activities included.
- Very close to all things Kumarakom and on the main road
- Ample parking
- Very modern and W-hotels inspired design
- Super friendly, caring and professional staff
- Beautiful on-site swimming pool
We had a great time at the hotel! We really enjoyed the amazing food and our peaceful villa at the lake. The staff was super friendly, accommating and helpful. We'd most definitely stay here again!
