We didn't stay in the town which looked to be very busy but stayed at a resort which was located in a secluded valley outside the town. We did stay a few days in McLeodganj but it was too crowded and full of traffic pollution.

It is a bustling town like all in India. There are splendid views of the Himalayas and there’s easy access to the Dalai Lama’s residence. There’s opportunities for climbing, hiking and paragliding. Restaurants provide good, in expensive food.

Dharamsala is a sprawling, working town in a very beautiful part of India. Unfortunately, the town does not match its surroundings and has little to offer the essential traveller. We went to watch Test match cricket in what is an impressive location but I would suggest that if the ground wants to hold more Test matches and T20s, then more investment needs to be made in the town itself in order to attract overseas visitors.

Dharamshala is a city in Himachal Pradesh that has a lot of attractions and natural scenery. It is the residence of the Dalai Lama and the center of Tibetan culture. It is also a place for spirituality, peace, and rejuvenation. It has two parts: the lower Dharamshala and the upper Dharamshala or McLeodganj. Some of the places to visit in Dharamshala are Dal Lake, Kangra Fort, Jwalamukhi Devi Temple, Tea Gardens, Bhagsu waterfalls and none but the least is the Dharamshala Ropeway

The traffic is poorly managed.
The traffic is poorly managed. The central part should not have ANY traffic, as is true of most European countries. There were NO pavements, and the roads were mostly too narrow to allow the vehicles, animals and humans to navigate in comfort. As a result, we could not go out for a leisurely walk - all we could do was to go from our hotel to the specific site that we planned on visiting, and back.

Dharamshala is good for the salubrious climate and a picturesque place which affords a breath-taking view of the Dhauladhar range of mountains. It has a lot of Tibetan monasteries and shops selling Tibetan food, products and medicines.
There are 4 shakthi sthals situated in the vicinity of Dharamshala. The Chinmaya tapovan is another worthy visit
Ganish (check him out on insta @backpacker.bawa) is the best!!! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in McLeodganj after staying here. This property has the most stunning views. The common space is super cozy and guests (especially me) often hangout there and exchange experiences and recommendations. Many good friends made here! Breakfast and chai super delicious and the rooms comfy and clean. Ganish went out of his way to make sure we were able to do everything we wanted. Highly recommend!
Wonderful overall experience !! Our stay was very comfortable and fun-filled . We are glad that we took this decision to choose this place.Best located and peaceful place to enjoy your vacation. There is a mall and 24x7 outlet at walking distance .The food was very good and the staff is very cooperative. They have beautifuly maintained terrace for bonfire and dinner . Surely recommended for your next vacation to Dharamshala !!
Everything. My room and bathroom were very spacious and clean, the staff, owner and his daughter all went out of the way to help us in every possible way and had lots of tips about the village. The food was excellent. And the view … stunning. I didn’t realize it when we booked that we were a cab ride away from Dharamshala but in retrospect that was a plus! Much nicer environment.

The best part about this hotel is the amazing view, beautiful room with a nice temperature, comfortable beds and chairs, a beautiful roof terrace being built. The location is great and what made the stay especially good was the staff: Goulam made sure we had everything we needed and was very kind.

Actually the only premium hotel in this area and can be used to visit both Dharamkot and Mcleodganj. Lots of green cover, good to see they didn't make a concrete monstrosity. Comfortable
The most beautiful part of this hotel is its mountain view from the balcony of the rooms. Breakfast provided was delicious. It is near to some tourist places in dharamshala.
