This hotel was a great place to stay. It is an older hotel with some upgrades. The rooms were quiet. The staff were wonderful. We had been put in a smaller double room the first night. I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning. They apologozed and moved us to a larger room with a street view as I had originally requested. They stated that on the first noght the hotel was very busy and that is why we unfortuately gave us a smaller room . The facilities were great and centrally located as the only hotel in town. We loved out stay

I made a solo visit to Grove house for 2 nights.

I made a solo visit to Grove house for 2 nights. My reason for staying is simply because I needed a little break from life. The house firstly is a beautifully kept simple but elegant country home. I was met with a big smile from Ian who showed me around all the nooks and crannies of the house! On the first night I brought my book and glass of wine into the garden room where I looked out at the rolling hills of Shanballymore. 3 blissful hours of peace I didn't see a soul all evening. I stayed in the roof top room. The bed was so comfortable I slept for 8 hours straight through. The following morning I helped myself to a wonderful breakfast spread out in the guests conservatory which is separate to the house. I then hopped in my car and visited all the wonderful sights nearby. That evening I decided to be a little braver and came out to the conservatory where other guests were chilling and enjoying a glass of wine. Jacqueline has a wonderful way of introducing guests to each other with great thought and then it's up to us after that if we wish to talk further. Jacqueline and Ian are great to check in and ask how you are but also give you plenty of space to just relax and explore. They also offer (for free) a relaxing form of meditation therapy (I didn't try it but lots of guests did who loved it) . Jacqueline also gave me a big bowl of beautiful veg curry that she had left over from her own family's dinner that night. She is very caring. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed my stay. I left Sunday morning feeling ready to face the world again! Thank you Ian and Jacqueline for your great welcome and letting me stay in your home. Trish
