Everything was lovely, inside and out. Our host, Brenda, was wonderful. She made us feel right at home and she went out of her way to help us with dinner arrangements as some restaurants and pubs have not opened since the pandemic.

Beautiful, state of the art property. Exceptionally clean, and the most helpful host! Very, very comfortable stay, only wish we’d stayed longer than 1 night. It had absolutely everything we needed- and more.

The setting and the house was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was beautifully set out and delicious. The view over the loch, the cows in the next field, the country lane leading up to the house and the gardens exceeded expectations.

Boyle is a suitable location for exploring Leitrim or Roscommon and is ideal for anyone participating tin the Carrick on Shannon Camino. It's about 15 minutes from Carrick. The King's House which I didn't have time to visit, has historical links to the owners of Mitchelstown Castle ,The Earls of Kingston which was the largest Castle to be destroyed during the period of the War of Independence. There are many historical places of interest in the locality such as Strokestown House and Lough Key Forest Park. Thoroughly recommended as a touring base.

For a two day stay in Boyle without a car - there's plenty to see and do. The King House and the Abbey are within easy walking distance and Lough Key Forest Park is 3km pleasant walk from town. Boyle is an historic, friendly, and pretty town worth visiting. Had great dinners in Lovage and New Taichi Court, and a gorgeous pint in An Croabhín. King House Tea rooms have a good menu and great coffee.

There is a lot to do and see in Boyle and the surrounding area. King House is wonderful to explore but will shortly close for the winter season. A range of cafes and restaurants give a good variety of menus. The Arigna Mine Experience 25 minutes drive from Boyle is fantastic and open year round. Do not miss adventuring through Lough Key Forest Park. Beautiful lake, amazing trees and canopy walk.

We loved the peacefulness and the scenery.
We loved the peacefulness and the scenery. We liked the fact that the local people had worked over a long period to retain the culture and keep shops open. We felt safe and the people are very friendly.
Unfortunately an old main hotel has become a ruin and an eyesore. The prices in the small Chinese restaurant (between and above the two pubs) were extremely inflated.

We used Boyle as a base for Lough Key Activity Park- it is a 5 minutes drive so ideal. There are some buildings in the town that are rundown/shabby but for a family stay it was fine as there are shops for food and a few nice places to eat. Kings House and Boyle Abbey are worth a visit - we had a nice breakfast at the Kings House tea rooms and there is a lovely craft shop there.. We also liked Taylors tea room. Also in the area are the Arigna Mines and the beautiful lakes that are dotted throughout Roscommon.
Gorgeous, renovated cottage oozing with character & an ideal location to explore nearby Lough Key, Boyle and neighbouring counties of Sligo and Leitrim. The house is very comfortable and Trish is a wonderful, friendly host on hand if anything is needed. We are really looking forward to returning as we have so many more places to explore in the area. Thanks a mil Trish
Margaret is so lovely! She welcomed us warmly and made us feel immediately at home. My mom and I loved chatting with her over tea and breakfast. The house was sparkling clean, the beds were super comfy, and her flowers are some of the most beautiful we’ve seen in Ireland. We were a quick 10-15 minute walk from town - easy peasy. Thank you Margaret!
Very cozy and comfortable place located in the outskirts of Boyle, 5 minute walk from Boyle Abbey and about 50 minute walk through the forest to Lough Key. I was travelling without a car and it was easy to get around. Margot is a great host, very kind and welcoming, it was a pleasure staying at Hillgrove and I'd gladly come back in the future.
Cozy room in a nice guesthouse on the edge of town close to Boyle Abbey, with use of a fully equipped kitchen. 15-20mins walk from the train station and only 10-15mins walk to everything you need in the town centre. Pleasant views of the surrounding hills, and you can enjoy walks along the river and out to the canal & lough.
The location of the property was perfect for us, close to our fishing boat, close to Lough Key for swimming and a great lane and fields for dog walking. Rose, our host was charming and easy to contact. There are lots of outdoor activities nearby and the towns of Boyle and Carrick on Shannon are a short drive away.
Myself and my three kids went to Boyle apartment..and it was lovely .. Great location..very clean and comfortable..near shops pubs etc.. This beautiful property is a hidden gem within easy reach of the stunning Carrick-on-Shannon and the picturesque town of Boyle.
With a warm and friendly welcome we were met with a perfectly clean and well stocked house. Our stay was just a pleasure and our host could not have more helpful.
Our second visit to The Nurseries and another very enjoyable stay.
The location is perfect with Boyle and Carrick on Shannon only minutes away.
The cottage is beautiful and very well stocked.
Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. We cannot wait to pay another visit.
We were in walking distance of everything in Boyle town and only ten minutes drive to lough key forest park! Lovely hosts, very clean property and amazing experience! Highly recommend for any young people who want to experience Carrick and Boyle without the steep price tag!
What a little gem of a hotel, clean, spacious rooms
Helen the land lady was brilliant, going above and beyond to help us, making dinner reservations for us.
Breakfast was gorgeous
Car park ample for guest numbers
It was a convenient location for my planned visits in Boyle. The owner Margaret is most welcoming
and ensures guests are comfortable. I am content with my experience. I can imagine returning to
Hillgrove House.
Just so friendly. You could stay at a 5* hotel and enjoy it less. Owners were very welcoming and accommodating. Highlight was a display of tricks by the resident spaniel! Wonderful hospitality.
