The traffic situation in Clifden was chaotic with cars parked everywhere blocking the traffic. It could be a lovely tourist town but it is totally undeveloped. It has huge potential but sadly it needs a development committee with full powers to shake the people up! Look at the huge success of Westport!

Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)
Great character in this beautiful old world style hotel right in the heart of Clifden. Extremely spacious bedrooms with very comfy beds! Fantastic staff from the very welcoming Judy on reception to the lovely friendly restaurant and bar staff. Highly recommend Mullarkeys bar - not your typical hotel bar...brilliant live music (not diddley-aye either... more bluesy, rock n roll, folksy), great atmosphere and popular with locals. The late night French toast (sweet not savoury 😝) was a nice touch!!😁
The hotel is in the centre of Cliften very convenient to all Cliften has to offer and close to the sky road beautiful looped walk 15 minute drive to Connemara national park one af the most scenic areas of Ireland ihave ever visited staying thank to all the staff Witt alcock and brown made everything so easy would recommend this hotel to any one for a relaxing stay thanks you to all staff especially Sasha and nightporter james
The location, though out of Clifden, was excellent for the views. Parking was easy; we received a friendly greeting from our host who also gave us recommendations for restaurants and pubs in town; breakfast was fresh and delicious, especially the home-made Far Breton.
The Woodfield Hotel is a lovely hotel in the centre of Clifden. The staff are excellent, really pleasant and helpful. The food here is very good. The breakfast ingredients were high quality and well cooked. We ate one evening meal here which we enjoyed.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of our double room.
The fact that the hotel is in a very quiet location and at the same time almost in the centre of Clifden was a real bonus.
