Staff were lovely, food amazing 👏room was lovely
Toilet flooded twice during tge night, I lifted the toilet back to manual flush otherwise tge place would have been destroyed. I told staff when checking out and put towels down incase it happened again without someone noticing. Apart from that our stay was lovely.

The hotel is well-located with a large deck to enjoy views of the Galtee Mountains. The staff was friendly and dinner exceeded expectations with large portions and attention to presentation. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure was very much appreciated after a long day hiking.

Friendliness, help from Reception staff with all enquiries, especially a) when enquired about a meal, without knowing there was a big (Communion) celebration taking place in the main dining room, the very busy chef brought me a lovely meal. Then b) very early morning departure, night porter helped with bags, offered tea and light breakfast.

We stopped in Cahir (pronounced "Care") because it was a convenient layover on a longer road trip. We were surprised by the beautiful and interesting Cahir Castle on an island in the river, with its extensive grounds and well-kept interior. The town is small-ish and not what I would call "bustling". Several of the shops were closed (maybe permanently) and the choices for places to stay or dine are quite limited. All said, I would recommend a stop for the castle alone - if it's convenient to stay the night, the Cahir House Hotel (possibly the only choice) is adequate, though long in the tooth and missing the grandeur it must have once been known for, and its attached pub is decent. We were awakened by the early morning drop-off (emphasis on the "drop) of many kegs outside of the hotel and the one other functioning pub in town just across the way.

I liked the Castle.
I liked the Castle. We had dinner in Galiloes and the Galtee inn. There were a few places closed(as in most towns) Annswood was only 5 minutes drive away. We did a lot of hiking while we were there. There are loads of trails to follow. I would stay there again. Eleanor also does BnB in her house as another option.

Cahir is an interesting town with many places to visit. I particularly liked my walk around the castle, the walk along the river to the Swiss Cottage and my visit to the local Anglican church. Cahir is also close to both the Galtee Mountains and the Knockmealdowns, both of which are excellent for hiking. Cork is about 45minutes away and Waterford can be reached in about an hour. I visited both and enjoyed them in different ways.

Nice and compact, with a very friendly vibe and plenty to see for a short stay. A great central location for the Tipperary and North Cork area. Places we ate and were really quite good. Dream Garden Chinese, the food was excellent and the owner was very attentive. MarBella Wood-Fired Pizza, is a take away van, excellence pizza and right next to the River Suir. Cahir House Hotel bar food was excellent and no nonsense.

The Swiss cottage was most interesting with a lovely tour of the building.
We had marvellous steaks/beef short rib in The Galtee Inn - couldn't have asked for better - friendly staff, good service, great food.
Drove across the V - marvellous views, marvellous walks.
We also went to Lismore Castle and Gardens - much more extensive and interesting than I'd expected.
We could have spent much longer touring in the area - plenty to do and see.
Easy to find. Simple check in. Lovely comfortable and cosy cabin. Great shower and hot water on demand. Friendly hosts. Eleanor was very quick to get back to us re any messages. Perfect location if you are driving. Very close to Cahir with its beautiful Castle, park and river walk. Cahir farmers market on Saturday worth a visit for the cakes and treats. Lava brew also a gorgeous spot for brunch with some of the absolute best baking. Worth a visit!
This B&B was located in beautiful rural Cahir, just 5-10 minutes to town. The farm was very pastoral with cows, chickens and ducks, and beautiful views of the mountains. The accommodations were comfortable and a separate sitting area with large TV and refrigerator was available to us which made relaxing in the evening very enjoyable. Eleanor was so sweet and accommodating and made a great Irish breakfast!!
It's a very historic building right in the heart of Cahir. It's has a huge history. Breakfast was lovely, however the rooms are very dated and the hotel would really benefit from updating the decor in the bedrooms. It was very old, fashioned and sort of grubby the bedroom interior which is a real shame as the hotel stay was fine except for the bedroom decor
Such a lovely hotel, beautiful setting and felt so homely. Fab family rooms with amazing space! The staff went above and beyond when we said we would miss breakfast on the day of departure due to a very early flight and made food and fresh coffees for us when we left the hotel at half 6 in the morning. I would 100% recommend it and would love to stay again.
Located in rural Tipperary, a few kilometers from Cahir, this was a perfect place for our purposes, tracing townlands of Irish ancestors. Eleanor is a great host. She was very helpful and accommodating, and even traced down a traditional “jam” session for us - in Thurles- authentic and excellent, not a tourist show. Highly recommend this quiet, clean B&B
A traditional hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor. Comfortable bed, warm blanket. Nice large open closet. Nice, clean bathroom with towels and soap provided. Great location in the center of town and near the castle. Parking available in lot behind the hotel.
Breakfast available for purchase - a bit overpriced, but was good.
Breakfast was delicious. Eleanor is a wonderful hostess. She gave suggestions on nearby landmarks and restaurants and we are so glad we took her advice. Her bed and breakfast is exceptional. If my husband and I are ever back in Cahir/Tipperary we will be sure to stay again. Thank you Eleanor for your warm hospitality!
Been to Cahir House on numerous occasions and I can never fault anything about our stays. On recent stays we've needed the room closest the too of stairs due to mobity issues and there have never been an issue . Will be down staying again during the summer.
Beautiful countryside setting, with spectacular views. The breakfast was cooked fresh, best Irish fry I’ve had in a while. Lots to see and do nearby, only a 5min drive into Cahir town. House dog Toby is great company for mountain walks.
Very convenient location close to Cahir, very cozy countryside accommodation. Eleonor was very helpful with tips for dining in the area and made us a good breakfast. Very friendly dog was a plus! Would reccomend!
Location of hotel and suite of services were great. The breakfast was amazing - did not expect such high quality and choice. Bar/restaurant was reasonably priced and decent food. Beds comfy.
Hotel staff are so friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was AMAZING! We will definitely be returning again to this hotel
outstanding and beautiful lodge with a staff of quality people, all willing to help and make sure we enjoyed our stay. would recommend this lodge and restaurant to anyone visiting Ireland.
This hotel is the best option for excellent food..really, excellent food...niceties from room 116..reception ladies are so very helpful, and pub and library areas great for drinks too!!
A welcome break from the routine of staying in hotels when travelling for work 😊. Nice change to wake up to a field of cows peacefully grazing just outside!
