There were a number of adventure/cultural/pampering packages available to add to your stay - I only wish I had time to do more of them. We did a rice field walk which was very good. All of the staff were lovely, and Ketut, the manager, was such a pleasure! The on-site warung, "Warung Melita", was great and the breakfast provided was delicous. Since the resort is a little remote (but not too remote), we chose to eat at the warung for dinners and it was very tasty. We even participated in a cooking class and enjoyed the food we made for dinner that evening. Note that there are other warungs a five to 10 minute walk away.
An extra little added luxury was coffee and tea delivered to our patio early in the morning so it was waiting to be enjoyed when we woke up. The grounds were lovely, beside a river, and the pool was very refreshing.
Set against a backdrop of rice terraces in Sidemen, Teras Bali Sidemen Bungalow and Spa offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and Agung Volcano.

It was a nice little villa tucked away on what seemed like a resort street. The rooms were clean and the pool was lovely. It was close to other spots to eat and we enjoyed the views of the terraces from other locations. The breakfast was ok- I really liked the scrambled eggs and pastry set. The beds were on the firmer side but I prefer that. Overall it was very comfortable and a great price!

I choose to stay in Sideman since I heard it was more like the Ubud of 20 years ago (when I first started coming to Bali). And yes, it has a less-touristy vibe, although there are certainly things to do (silver jewelry making classes, cooking classes, rice paddy walks). But it is quieter, which is what I was looking for. The one thing that is important to know is that at the time of this writing, there is no ATM in the village. I wish I would have known this in advance, as many shops do not take credit cards, or if they do, it comes with extra fees. Had I known this I would have taken out more cash at the airport on arrival to make sure I had sufficient.

Sidemen is still not too touristic and does feel off the beaten track. There is a lot of development happening, but locals still see people as people. It is walkable in 30-ish minutes. There is plenty of restaurants, tracks and things to do while being there. Would definitely recommend! Easy to get to and 1 hr away from the beach. Very calm and quiet.

Great authentic area to visit in Bali, the rice terraces are spectacular and also there are some nice views around if you go by scooter. Good area for tourist needs, nice warungs and restaurants ( i recommend Samanvaya) in the area, scooter rental and stores. Pretty close to many waterfalls, views and other atttractions like Penglipuran Village.
The main streets get pretty busy sometimes and some b roads are in a really bad shape, but with a scooter you can overcome everything and the spectacular nature makes you forget any inconvenience.
The Villa was a great value for the price. The facilities do not look like the photos, and are more run down. This was not an issue for our stay though, and we enjoyed our time at Villa Karma Loka. The pool was a nice temperature, and had towels stocked. The staff was very helpful to our needs, from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dewi at the front desk was very helpful in booking our transportation for our next destination. The view from our balcony was excellent. We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and family.
The best hotel I've ever stayed in! The facility in itself is gorgeous, with a lovely view over the rice terraces and the jungle. The staff are exceptionally nice, polite and arranged everything for us, including Rafting , a rice terrace trek and taxi transfer to our next hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast offered at the facility is filling and very tasty. There is a restaurant at the facility with very affordable prices too. If im ever back in sidemen I am definitely staying at this hotel
We had lovely days at Rumah Sidemen. The cabin is really nice. You have a big clean bathroom with hot water and sleeping room with great AC. Beside that, the view from your terrace is really pretty, directly into the nature. It is silent and you have your own private place. The family is really lovely and you can rent scooters. The breakfast is delicious. Beside that, from this spot you have good walking tours around sidemen. There are nice Warungs nearby as well. We can fully recommend this place.
The location of the hotel...Sidemen is very quiet compared to Ubud. In the center there is not really something to see, only shops for locals...The hotel is situated outside Sidemen (30 min walk) with a nice view on rice fields. As there are also other hotels around, there is a nice choice of restaurants within walking distance... we enjoyed one of the best food in Bali there.
Loved everything about Embang. A beautiful room with king size four poster bed, huge outdoor shower, and balcony with spectacular view of the valley and mountains. There isn't AC but it was cool at night so I left the doors open (the bed has mosquito net round) The staff were lovely too. Wish I could have stayed longer. Sidemen is such a hidden gem of Bali.
Beautiful place in sidemen! Walking distance from Sidemen rice field and to some good local restaurant. The food at the property is very good if you do not want to get out. The staff is so kind and drive me to some places as I couldn’t drive scooter myself.
The room is fantastic, all in wood, I was just front of the pool. I didn’t want to leave!
The hotel is absolutely great! It is at the end of a street with some restaurants and accommodations. Therefore, it did not feel so isolated, but still very quiet.
The rooms are quite spacious and the A/C is working well. The view is amazing and the staff works very hard to provide you with an amazing experience.
The pool and tranquil vibe at this hotel was just what we were looking for! Sadly we only had time to visit Sidemen for one night, but this is the kind of hotel you could just chill out at for a couple of days, soaking in the views of the surrounding hills and rice terraces 😊
The view was amazing, the swimming pools and their area were fantastic. The room was cute and everything was clean.
The staff was very friendly and helped us with a booking issue we had.
The hotel has a pathway down to the river area which is really beautiful
Such a wonderful stay here, Tigger and her family were amazing and helped us so much, truly gave us the best experience in Sidemen. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the air con and mosquito nets in the rooms were great. Can’t recommend enough!
The location. Beautiful and quiet nature.
Good food. The restaurant options arent huge but they are good.
Not so much related to the hotel but there is a super good laundromat nearby called Camana Laundry. They are super cheap and super clean also
Wonderful view of Gunung Agung from hotel room and also from pool.
Very comfortable bed. Breakfast on balcony with view of Agung very special. Extremely quiet.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Nice restaurant and food
Overall the facilities are joined with nature. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy, renovated and are designed very well. Rice terraces are continuation of the hotel territory - that's amazing
Gorgeously designed huge room. Couldn't stop taking pictures of the room and the view. I came to Sidemen to restore my energy after extensive backpacking and it was a perfect place for that.
Fantastic stay!! Such a beautiful hotel, the view is incredible and rooms are stunning! The breakfast was fantastic with so much to choose from. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again
