It was a nice little villa tucked away on what seemed like a resort street. The rooms were clean and the pool was lovely. It was close to other spots to eat and we enjoyed the views of the terraces from other locations. The breakfast was ok- I really liked the scrambled eggs and pastry set. The beds were on the firmer side but I prefer that. Overall it was very comfortable and a great price!
Featuring an outdoor pool, Khrisna Hs and Cottages is located at the rice fields in Sidemen and offers accommodations with private terraces and open-air shower facilities.

I choose to stay in Sideman since I heard it was more like the Ubud of 20 years ago (when I first started coming to Bali). And yes, it has a less-touristy vibe, although there are certainly things to do (silver jewelry making classes, cooking classes, rice paddy walks). But it is quieter, which is what I was looking for. The one thing that is important to know is that at the time of this writing, there is no ATM in the village. I wish I would have known this in advance, as many shops do not take credit cards, or if they do, it comes with extra fees. Had I known this I would have taken out more cash at the airport on arrival to make sure I had sufficient.

Sidemen is still not too touristic and does feel off the beaten track. There is a lot of development happening, but locals still see people as people. It is walkable in 30-ish minutes. There is plenty of restaurants, tracks and things to do while being there. Would definitely recommend! Easy to get to and 1 hr away from the beach. Very calm and quiet.

Great authentic area to visit in Bali, the rice terraces are spectacular and also there are some nice views around if you go by scooter. Good area for tourist needs, nice warungs and restaurants ( i recommend Samanvaya) in the area, scooter rental and stores. Pretty close to many waterfalls, views and other atttractions like Penglipuran Village.
The main streets get pretty busy sometimes and some b roads are in a really bad shape, but with a scooter you can overcome everything and the spectacular nature makes you forget any inconvenience.
Very spacious room with a view of the volcano and the fields. The host was extremely caring and friendly. The place is very well located - you can access the official start of the sidemen field walk within 5 minutes (the fields in front and those on the side toward the mountain), it is located right next to an authentic village and further away from all the “copy-paste” villas (although there are some currently being built nearby).
The property itself is a true Homestay with a family temple and direct access to the fields in front.
I liked everything about the property and the staff. Can’t express what a great experience we had here. Jack and his family welcome you with open arms and make you feel part of their family. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours we did with Jack, I would especially recommend the one round Sidemen and lunch at his sister’s house, getting up for sunrise was very early for us but a magical experience which we will treasure for ever and we learnt so much during the walk around the rice terraces.
Beautiful location in a peaceful setting. The accommodations are pleasant and everything you need. The food was awesome including many vegetarian selections. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. We did a day tour with Made including Besakih Temple, Gembling waterfall, and a few spots in Sidemen. Highly recommend Barong Villas for a very relaxing, pleasantly slower paced experience but not far from many popular areas.
The hotel was beautiful! Probably the best experience we had in Bali. Sidemen is just magical. Amazing view of the rice terraces, quiet, autenthic experience, amazing pool, lovely staff, good restaurant. Definitely go for the cooking class with a visit to the local market and the walk through the rice terraces. Or the massage in the rice fields. All are offered by the hotel and they're great!
Wapa Di Ume is an experience ! 3rd time here and every time is even better!
The best part of the hotel is that has the BEST staff! Every single one is so friendly and real kind! Most of them are working from the begging of this hotel and are from Sidemen!
Love Wapa Di Ume Family!
I have so many positive things to say about them and about the hotel!
Location was fabulous. Surrounded by tiered rice, chilli and corn planting, with Mt Agung peer out the clouds. There are a variety of eating options on the doorstep, from his high-end hotel dining to local warungs. The rooms were very spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The pool was excellent, as was the spa. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful jungle retreat! The bungalows are very cosy and in good repair. I find that most budget wood bungalows in Bali are pretty shabby and unenjoyable to stay in, but Kubu’s are great. Very spacious. Not humid. Kubu is located about a 20 minute scooter from Sidemen town so make sure you have your own transport. Friendly staff.
Embang homestay is like coming home in Bali! If you don't like the crowds of the coast and even Ubud then you have to stay in Sidemen. Embang homestay is the perfect place to immerse in the real Bali. Thanks to Jero and Ayu your stay will be amazing, they treat you like royalty! We will come back!
The pool and tranquil vibe at this hotel was just what we were looking for! Sadly we only had time to visit Sidemen for one night, but this is the kind of hotel you could just chill out at for a couple of days, soaking in the views of the surrounding hills and rice terraces 😊
Amazing place, located very close to nature and some beautiful restaurants. The hotel is very quiet. The pool is stunning with an incredible view!!!! The restaurant serves very good food and breakfast. The room is huge with its own terrace. Delightful stay!
