Nice places to visit, but lack of infrastructure.
Mount Bromo, one of the best attractions is only reached by Jeeps, in fact, very old cars, no seat belt, no comfort at all, if you are more than 1.8 m tall, as me, you will be no room for your legs, and have to stary more than 5 hours like a sardine in a can.
Too bad, the volcanos are wonderful and the beauty of the area breath taking.

Malang was the old Dutch colonial centre of East Java and where Dutch women and children were encamped by the Japanese. It has lovely, treed avenues and parks however it suffers from traffic congestion and poor air quality like the rest of Java.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. One highlight was the breakfast, which offered a delightful blend of local cuisine and the usual bread and pastries. It was a great way to savor the local flavors while still having some familiar options. I was also positively surprised when they refunded a breakfast I did not have time to take. The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming, and their warm hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The vintage vibes of this place was super awesome. European style building in the middle of Malang surrounded by vintage and culture was the most memorable things here. Besides, this location near town square and sarinah is the new hype from my point of view. Moreover, I've never felt like this quite and calm room in the middle of town. Really recommended for traveler who seeks cultural vibes and historical sense

Employees are incredibly kind and help us with a trip to Tempuk Sewu waterfalls, Bromo and Ijen (Also to be recommended with their hostel "Revive! By Snooze" in Banyuwangi). They kept us posted via WhatsApp every step of the way to ensure comfort and ease.

This property is centrally located with lots of interesting shops and things to see in the area. Just outside the hotel you will find coffee shops and local students enjoying coffee into the evening. The people in this area  are very friendly, and we walked around at night with no issue. The staff were friendly but not overly attentive, par for the course at this price range in Java IMO.
Very nice and clean hotel with modern rooms of a good size, with clean bathrooms. Staff very friendly and the location is quite walkable to restaurants and areas of interest in Malang. They also let you check in very early for percentage of your room price which was great as we arrived super early feom the train station but coule access the room straight away to sleep.
Although Malang left us a little nonplussed, this hotel was a highlight of our 3 weeks in Indonesia. Very comfortable and well appointed; the restaurant for dinner and breakfast is excellent. Although the pool is the centre of attention (so if you're shy you may feel a little exposed), it's superb and a great place to relax after long, hot days.
Amazing little place, the staff is super friendly and very helpful. Vico can organize all the trips you need out of Malang. Very clean, the food is great and it's very good value for your money.. I would highly recommend this place to any backpacker on a budget passing through Malang, Vico and his wife will make your stay memorable:)
Beautiful and interesting hotel with a lot of history and art in the he public rooms. Just beautiful. Rooms are clean and have a comfortable and typical ambiance. Breakfast and dinners were incredible. Ratna helped us so well. Location is great, 5 minutes walk from the train station and nearby the coloured villages.
I love how spacious the room was with lots of storage. Wifi strength was exceptional for working online and with others. I tried the spa and met the spa staff Anggie..she really a good masseuse. The hotel interior feel so modern yet still cozy. the shower pressure was good and the bed was spacious for twin bed.
Ibis Malang was better than other Ibis hotels I've stayed in. Room was clean, beds were comfy, hot water in the shower, cold and hot (kettle in room) drinking water provided. They also focus on sustainability. Staff was great. WiFi worked really well. I'd consider staying here if I drop by malang again!
Clean and comfortable room. Beautiful pool area. We appreciated staff was very friendly and attentive. Good restaurant and breakfast. We liked the tea time the hotel offers. Absolutely loved the massage in the spa (we even added an hour). Great location in walking distance to the train station.
The hotel looks really nice, they were really kind to let change my dates, which I really appreciate. The breakfast box is abundant, more like a lunch., I was able to request vegetarian meal. They have coffee and tea all day and a water fountain. Staff is friendly.
