There really is nothing not to love about this little pocket of paradise. Cute & comfy bungalows right on the beach, friendly & attentive staff keen to meet your every need without being stifling. The restaurant offered yummy food prepared from scratch including homemade bread. Amazing snorkeling experience with Jordy. He went searching for seahorses & turtles and did not disappoint! We swam with multiple turtles and it was magical 💖 this place is quiet & relaxing. Jun & his team are the best 😊

This was an amazing choice of place to stay in Gili Gede! The location is perfect for exploring the north or south of the island on foot. Snorkeling and good restaurants are only a 10-15 minute walk away. The bed is super comfortable and the view from the room is lovely! We had the pancakes and nasi goreng for breakfast and they were so good, we decided to stay for dinner also….highly recommended! The staff was super helpful and Hir organized a great snorkeling trip to the 5 islands for a better price than the people at the harbor. When we return to Gili Gede, we will definitely stay here again!

An extremely nice family who took care of us from landing at the airport (there was a delay and they waited for us), transfer home by car and boat, delicious food, trip to neighboring islands and advice. Thanks to Sophie and Gun!

This was an amazing stay. The staff treats you extremely well and every need is taken care of which is great because it is a very secluded and it’s needed. It was extremely relaxing staying here and I would highly recommend it.
Gili Gede is the perfect base to see other Gili and Lombok.
Gili Gede is the perfect base to see other Gili and Lombok. It’s has five fishing villages, five mosques and one school with interesting everyday life going on all around, it’s just not a tourist island.
I ate fish caught one hour before and cooked at Warung Bamboo of the best little Warungs on the beach - cool music and sensational food!

Nice island which is actually quite big.
Nice island which is actually quite big. Has a couple of villages with friendly people. A nice place to walk around and explore. Around the island there are certain places with nice snorkeling too, but you need to know where to go.

great snorkeling, both from the beach and by very affordable boat trips off the coast. Just large enough to get a decent run in every day. Enough village life to wander about and explore. No cars!!! only a couple of motorbikes.

This is one of the lesser known 'Gilis' and in contrast to Air, Meno and Trawangan, much less visited.
The touristical infrastructure is still to be developed, although there is some.
Unfortunately the island suffers from an overwhelming problem of plastic waste that washes up on its shores from Lombok proper and elsewhere. There are various initiatives on the island to deal with this, but one day cleaned, the beach will be full with plastic waste again the next day. This is a national Indonesian problem where the attitude towards waste needs to be more evolved to save the beaches and maritime ecology.
Nevertheless, some awesome snorkeling can be done.
The villages are interesting: authentically Indonesian and very little developed.
It seems there will be huge development in the future, so go there now.
Moving around the island is best done by boat as there are few roads.

This stay was even better than our first stay.
This stay was even better than our first stay. The food is delicious. The rooms are great with the best seaviews ever. Staff really friendly. We really appreciate the efforts to reduce plastic waste and help villagers to dispose of rubbish. The sailing trip is highly recommended and was the highlight of our holiday.
